Ideal Salon

Awful experience at this salon. I was hoping for so much better after these good reviews (even though there aren’t many). Got a groupon to here as a gift from my mom, used it the day before it expired. This place is very unprofessional and small town vibe. Which whatever, don’t care much. But the woman who did my hair (who I just found out is the owner sue) was so incredibly cold. She didn’t introduce herself or ask what I wanted. She made fun of my current haircut (this was after Telling her my mom was a stylist and did it herself) and said how bad it looked… Real nice. And the services I was supposed to receive were a joke. The «treatment» was a standard leave in conditioner which she only left on for 3 minutes, and the «blowout» I was supposed to receive was a 5 minute dry with a great deal of hair pulling and my bangs were still curling all ugly. After I specified they would if she didn’t dry them first. Instead of fixing this and straightening them or anything else, she ignored me completely. The long layers I got did look okay. A different stylist who did my husbands hair did a nice job and she was sweet. So it’s unfortunate this place was so terrible. She left a mess of color from a previous client sitting out and my skirt brushed against it getting a big blotch of brown hair color on it. Then she blamed me for not seeing it and «leaning against the table» which I didn’t. That was the final straw. I was pissed. Will never go back.

I decided to look for high rated salons in the Edmonds area since we recently moved from Bellevue.
Ideal salon came up under my google search. Since I had no referral, nor did I know anything about the salon or the owner Sue, I was kind of taking a chance. Boy am I glad I did !!! Sue colored and cut my hair with such precision I was amazed. She is a master at her trade and it clearly shows.
I am very pleased with my hair and will now be a regular customer at Ideal salon. Thank you Sue!
UPDATE — Sue has cut and colored my hair three times and it looks great. I am getting a lot of compliments. BTW… I HAVE WAVY/​CURLY HAIR AND SHE CLEARLY KNOWS HOW TO CUT CURLY HAIR.

Sue at Ideal Hair Salon is fabulous! I have been a customer for for several years now and Sue always cuts my hair with precision and styles it perfectly. I am fussy (who isn’t with their hair) and require a hair stylist to listen and really understand exactly what I want and be able to achieve my desired end result. In addition, the salon is comfortable and relaxed without being over-​crowded and there is always plenty of parking. Great versatile stylist for all ages and sexes!

I’ve been with Sue for years. She was originally at Old Mill Town when I first had her cut my hair. Then she was on Highway 99. I followed her to Olympic View Drive, Edmonds, which she bought. –Ideal Hair Salon. Yeah Sue!
I say try everything once unless it’s illegal or dangerous. If her salon is closer to your home – give her a try. I feel certain you will be glad you did. Enjoy.

Sue is fantastic! Today was my first visit to her salon and I got a partial foil and cut. She did exactly what I asked for and I’m so happy with the results not to mention how reasonable her prices are. For so many years I’ve been paying $ 200ish dollars for similar services and for what I really don’t know. If you think it takes a fancy salon to produce great results think again. The proof is in the pudding… my hair! Thank you Sue! I will be back as well as spreading the word on you to family and friends.

I have been coming to Ideal Salon for over a year. I had been going to a high priced salon in Everett and decided to look for somewhere closer. Sue the owner does an outstanding job of cut and color. I have received terrific haircuts and color at half the price. I can’t say enough about her skill and fair prices. I am so glad I found Ideal Salon.
