Fred inspected a house I purchased earlier this year. His report didn’t show any significant problems. Now that I own the house, contractors have found inadequate insulation, dormant mold, an unducted bathroom fan, loose wring on the bathroom fan that has no junction box, and didn’t find the few things he did call out like water in the crawl and rodent droppings. I would not hire Fred again to inspect any home I was considering purchasing. Most of his report has turned out on numerous other reviews by various licensed contractors to be incorrect.

Fred inspected the home I live in approximately two years ago when I purchased it. Since then, I have found extensive water damage and dry rot around several windows, bad water damage and framing with a sliding glass door, and a bad carpenter ant problem. My covered front porch was so badly damaged structurally that it had to be rebuilt. None of these problems were found during the inspection, and if they had been I definitely would not have bought the house. All in all I will be spending several thousand dollars on repairs that I paid North Starr Inspections to find, and their failure to find the damage is costing me greatly in the long run. Next time, I’m definitely using someone else.

Fred has inspected two homes for my wife and I.
He is extremely thorough and detailed in his reports. The homes we had him inspect were pretty old in both cases. He was patient with us and explained each issue thoroughly. We are very happy with his level of service and would highly recommend Fred to anyone needing a home inspection.
