Steve knows Volvos and takes the time to share his knowledge with the customer. He is very thorough and methodical in tracking down odd sounds, etc. He calls with a diagnosis before launching into any extra work. The final bill is always right in line with his estimate. His prices are much more reasonable than the dealer. For example, when our 13+ year old XC90 needed lower control arms, he found major issues which the dealer either missed or ignored. He performed multiple repairs for far less than Sandberg quoted on the primary issue.

Steve is so wonderful. We found him two/​three years ago and are always so happy after we get work done. He is one of the most honest people I have ever met. He always tells you how it is, what should be fixed first if you are on a budget and what you should plan for in the future. Very reasonable, quick, reliable and trustworthy!

I’ve been driving older Volvos and Volkswagens for years and have known a lot of great, dedicated small business mechanics, but Steve is my absolute favorite by far. He is friendly, efficient, and has an encyclopedic knowledge of Volvos. He keeps my 1995 Volvo running at 240k miles. He is a master of pragmatism, fixing only the broken part, finding me parts from junkyard cars, and sometimes just telling me that isn’t really a problem and not worth the $ to fix it. He discusses all repairs with me before and after doing them, shows me the problem on the car, and many times gives me options + the info I need to make the informed decision. No wonder his customers have named him «The Volvo Whisperer». My next car will be another Volvo, just so I can keep Steve as my mechanic.

Steve is the greatest. He does our entire family’s Volvo’s and has always given us a fair and reasonable price. He really takes the time to explain whats going on with your car and why and how he has fixed things. The first time I went to him he couldve told me I needed an entire new part ordered from Volvo like the dealership would have. But because it was literally just a plastic cover he bolted it together for like ¹⁄₁₀₀^th of the price… Therefore earning my trust forever!

We have worked with Steve for years and he is honest and informative. Our Volvo 850 gets what it needs to keep it running in good shape without extraneous services. Steve would think of what he would do if he were in your shoes and advise accordingly. Highly recommended and have stood the test of time.
