Not too surprising there is a bad review about Eye Center of the Rockies on here. Terrible place and even worse customer service. I was referred by my doctor to go here as my 1 yr old daughter had a piece of something in her eye-it looked like a small black speck of ash but was there for over a week, so I decided to just have a doctor look at it. Big mistake. I went to Dr. Erich and my daughter was put in a chair and he leaned her back and used a q-tip or something like that and said it was just a piece of ash. The whole procedure took about 3 minutes. I left and it was all very pleasant. THEN I received a phone call from a collection agency saying I owed $ 500!!! i never received a bill, a phone call, an email, nothing beforehand. Collectio agency said it was for«removal of a foreign body». i called the office to find out what was up and left 4 messages and waited 2 weeks for a response from the doctor’s wife, Diane, who is a «manager» of some sort. She told me she left 4 messages on my phone and sent a bill and an email. This is absolutely not true. I pay my bills! There is no way I missed 4 vm’s and everything else!!! Diane is lazy at her job and it was easier to send me to collections than do her job. She told me also it was for«removal of a foreign body». I asked her to resend the bill, so I could review it. When the bill arrived it said my daughter had a Complete eye exam. which was HALF of the $ 500. Diane nor the collection agency told me this before. VERYSTRANGE how this piece of info had never been mentioned before. Maybe because they fabricated bill? I never asked that my daughter have an eye exam, first of all. And funny how I never received any results from that«eye exam» anyway! These people are shady. I would call to confront them about this but a) I would never get a call back and b) they don’t care. So unprofessional. Never, ever, ever go to this place of business.

I received my first, and last, eye Exam at Eye Center of the Rockies in October, 2012. It was a routine eye exam, covered by my insurance. Since receiving my first bill in November, my insurer was told that my eye exam was coded as a surgery and not a routine exam. I tried to talk with Eye Center of the Rockies numerous times about this issue in December(I did not get a quick response back after initial calls… It would take 1 – 2 weeks to get a hold of the billing staff). When I finally did get a hold of staff, I was told they would look into the issue. Fast Forward a month, my insurer is still under the impression I had some sort of surgery. And again, I am being billed by Dr. Erlich’s office. Again, for 8 days straight, I left messages with no response. When I finally did receive a call from Dr. Erlich’s office, I was told that the reason my insurance did not pay for the exam, was because I visited a Doctor. In addition, Dr. Erlich felt no need to look over my chart, as he wasn’t going to change anything anyways. Again, I asked my insurer if this were the case that they would fund an eye exam from Costco or Walmart, but not from Dr. Erlich’s office, and the insurer responded that they would cover a visit to Dr. Erlich’s office. I have since called back to Dr. Erlich’s office to explain that there must be a billing issue, between his office and the insurer, but they continue to have incredibly poor response. I can easily say this is some of the worst service I have experienced, and I intend never to go back, nor to recommend this business to any friends.
