This is the place to go for pie in Peoria County. Sandwiches are good as is the Jubilee salad.

Perfect family restaurant. $ 3 kids meals which comes with fries or chips AND applesauce or jello AND drink. My husband and I shared a tenderloin because it was so big. The tenderloin had a nice breading that seemed to be hand-tossed in-house. The kids’ corn dog was big and plump and the corn breading also delish. The French fries were tasty and appeared to be handcut with some having the skin. Of course, based on prior reviews, we had to try the pie and it did not disappoint. We had red raspberry(ask for it warm=yum!), lemon and coconut cream. All winners depending on who you asked in our group but coconut cream was simply outstanding. 5 of us ate(3 kids) with 3 pies and paid under 30 $. Nice find along the interstate! No credit or debit though — but if that’s why they have such great prices, no complaint here. Finally, a little outdated and worn but again, no complaints here when there’s great food.

Nothing really outstanding here. The place is rather plain and simply a place to eat food. If you are looking for a roadside stop for food then you can find it here. If you are looking for a nice dinning experience, keep looking. food is edible

Was going to just have coffee at gas station then saw foooood! So here we r eating a nice American breakfast. Ordered Farmers skillet for the boy. Then he sees the waitress putting fresh pies in the showcase. They say if u eat desert first u loose more weight. Haha. Well peach pie I have to say(cause he gave me one bite) was super tastey! I ordered Kickapoo breaky cause once u in Kickapoo … Do as they do. My poached eggs were perfect and we even had left overs.(gee I bet it was the pie first) lol. The waitress were great and we chatted them up a bit. We did have to go get some cash out of our Trk.(didn’t look at all the reviews) think I’ll add that as a tip on Unilocal.Looking forward to the famous fried chicken for dinner next time. They do have plenty of Trk & Trl parking around back too.

If you are starving and might die, ok, eat here. If you feel like cold coffee and a sour, prima donna waitress? Eat here. I tried it twice, but I think hunger is a reasonable alternative to this place.

Meh-this not as good as I could make at home on a bad day. Scrambled eggs were overcooked. The hash browns were under cooked, not crispy at all. They were limp and white. The gravy was tasteless with a drop biscuit. The toast was good, but they only brought grape jelly. The service was good and friendly. Clearly a lot of people like it, the parking lot was full, even though it seemed there were a lot more cars outside than people inside.

On the plus side, great waitress, good biscuits(homemade drop style) and gravy, some of the best fried chicken I’ve eaten in a long time. On the minus side, this place needs a facelift bad. The place is clean but the things in it are in need of an update. Didn’t have pie but it didn’t look that great to me and I love pie.

Stopping here with my daughter on the way home from Champaign or a Peoria has become a tradition. A slice if chocolate pie is a great way to get us on our way home. Today she had the kids spaghetti, which was a perfect serving, and tastier than most family restaurant spaghetti. Not much water in the plate, so they actually drain the pasta(unlike most places of this ilk). The real prize though, of this café is the pork tenderloin. Nice size. Fresh taste. Thick, crispy, beautiful. I think they use panko bread crumbs, which really arts this sandwich above the rest. I’ve had a LOT of pork tenderloin sandwiches. This among the best.

Brought me back to the days of old. Great Fried Chicken, Cheesy Mashed Potatoes, Tuna Sandwich, Baked Apples and of course Homemade Pie. I had the Summer Berry(Yummy and a little Tart) and my brother(Mr. Pieman) had the Strawberry Rubarb. Simple Deliocious!!! They only take CASH but so should every smart business.

**NOTE** They only take CASH, but do have an ATM on site Came here on 3÷14÷2015 for a PI day event for a local club that we are a part of. We had the entire room booked up on the left side, which is the«event room» or «banquet hall» type of area. We have ~45 people or so here. I arrived later than the rest to the party, which is fine. I was greeted rather quickly by the staff, who were nice and friendly. We wandered around, and found us a seat. I had to track down a waitress to get a menu, which I cannot blame her for because of the strict amount of people in a small location. We ordered a dutch apple pie, with a scoop of vanilla. The Pie ended up coming out colder than the Ice Cream did, which I thought was odd. it being so cold really ruined the taste of it. The ice cream was cold, but not as cold as the pie. It did not have much taste to it either. It seemed like one of the low fat/low sugar ice creams you can get at the store. I was not too impressed with either. I had to hunt down the waitress again for the check, who dropped it at the table, and then walked away to take care of the other tables there. When I walked to the other side to pay, I overheard the cashier complaining to someone in the back that we ate all the pies, and there will be none left for tomorrow, which strikes me odd because they can just make more pies, this is a pie joint, right? This comment makes me believe that the pies are just store-bought, not home made anymore, which is a sad, sad day. Overall, I was not very impressed with this place. They do not seem to hold up anymore to the history of the restaurant — — — — — — — — — — – Service — 3⁄5 Food Quality– 2⁄5 Serving Size — 2⁄5 Speediness — 3⁄5 Atmosphere — 3⁄5 Overall: 3⁄5 — — — — — — — — — — — Suggestion to business: Don’t freeze your pies, and don’t store buy them. Nothing beats a home made pie. Also, Talking about your lack of supplies in front of your customers is unprofessional, and shows a lack of planing for demand, especially on a special event such as PI day.

My friend and I are moving to Iowa, so we stopped. Best home cooked meal that I’ve had in a long time. Exceptional service – quick, polite and funny. The pie was amazing. It is very clean, but old fashioned décor. I would stop here again any time!

I came for the pie and was disappointed. They have some great options, including gooseberry and raspberry, which signal that these are home made. Those types of pies are a big treat that alone is worthy of a couple stars. But the pie slices seemed at least a day old, fillings had gotten a little gummy, and they were served iced cold, which really diminishes the flavor. The waitress offered to microwave them, but that ruins a pie crust’s flakiness, so we declined. It was hard to judge the crust as it was not fresh. We did not try anything else.

Just outstanding food and fast service in a clean local place. I had the breakfast special and everything was really really good. Totally worth the stop off the interstate.

I was told that this place was«an institution» of Kickapoo and famous for its fried chicken — a place that one should surely not miss! Sadly, the dried out/shriveled up chicken came directly from any old box found in the frozen food section of the A&P, the gravy on my mashed potatoes was definitely Knorr(or, even, a lesser brand) and the cole slaw was way over sauced with some sort of farm factory dairy. Skip this place. Even Panera is a better bet than this place.

Was pleasantly surprised by this place. Doesn’t look like much but the food was very good. Basic, old fashioned menu. Lots of hot sandwiches, things I would consider kind of old fashioned. They also had a «chilligetti»(i might be spelling that wrong — it’s a combination of chili + spaghetti) and it was actually quite good. Their pies are great. Service was quick and easy and it made a great stop from driving along the interstate. I’m not sure I’d want that to be my only restaurant choice as it was pretty basic food but it was done well and a step above fast food.

The first thing you know, this place only takes cash. The second piece of advice, go with the special of the day. We like this place, but some items have been disappointing. There is a nice assortment of entrees at this diner style restaurant. If you happen to be there when they have their homemade chicken noodle soup, have some it’s very good. They are also known for their homemade pie. Find it just off I-74 at the Kickapoo/Edwards exit.

This was a nice place for breakfast. Good service, Good food, fairly priced and the place is nice and clean. We just had basic breakfasts but everything was fresh and well prepared. Next time we will come for lunch or dinner and try the pie that everyone seems to be talking about, it sure looked good in the display!!!

Great pie. Other dishes are fine but nothing to super-wow you. Be ready for a very mom n pop operation, but at least the service is really nice, if not a little slow.

When I was in high school, I worked there as a dishwasher! They do indeed have a pie-maker on staff. Don’t expect fancy-shmancy food, but it *is* good and definitely worth a stop. In my opinion the must-haves are fried chicken and pie.

Went here for a wedding rehearsal dinner, and boy was I pleasantly stuffed afterward! This is definitely not a fancy place, but it is clean and offers some great home cookin’! Our meal was«family style,» which meant that we were served lots of sides and fixings in bowls which we could serve onto our individual plates. We had salad, rolls, green beans, a broccoli salad, mashed potatoes, fried chicken, etc. At the end, you could choose from like a million types of pie! The waitress, who was very friendly, said they have a professional pie maker on staff, and when I say that they have every type of pie you could possibly think of, I mean it. The dutch apple was mmMmm good :)
