Borders Books & Music

I love coming here! I usually just buy my books used online at Amazon but occasionally I’ll pony up the money to buy a book from Borders. (if you register, you are sent tons of coupons in your email weekly)
The atmosphere is exactly what you would expect of a bookstore-it’s a massive building but it has the uncanny ability to appear cozy with the lighting and inviting chairs.
They have a great and extensive section devoted to magazines which I enjoy to browse. They also have a great section for clearance and bargain books that I like to thumb through for books to read to my niece.
Don’t and I mean don’t buy any movies here. You will end up paying $ 20 for a B-​list movie from five years ago. Go to a bargain bin at Wal-​Mart and save yourself the extra $ 15. New movies here are even more pricey so again, I beg of you not to buy any movies here. Rather, put that money to good use in the books section.

This update is focused upon the Seattle’s Best Coffee vendor in the back of the store, which I would give three stars, if I could rate it separately from the rest of the store, of which I am definitely a fan. Today’s coffee was okay but not as fresh or tasty as I usually find just a few minutes east at Bread Co. Likewise, my carrot cake wasn’t bad, just a little beat up around the edges. But on a bad weather day, you can’t beat the convenience of coffee just a few steps away from books.

These guys are good and customer service is fantastic. I never remember to print out the e-​mail coupons for discounts (if you have a Border’s card) so they either take my word or I can pull it up on the phone (access the e-​mail account) and show them.
I’ve spent many an evening here reading and enjoying coffee in the back. Personally, I think some people take advantage of them — like those who bring their own snacks and drinks and never buy a book… but the good people at Border’s will never complain!
Great book selection and many discounted books. Don’t ever pay full price! Get a Border’s card and they will e-​mail you discounts every week!

This is a wonderful store. Great set up to find books easily both in clearance and bargain books to individual locations. I’ve never had an unpleasant experience here since it opened. The coffee shop kids were fabulous at explaining and helping me make a Christmas purchase. I think I’m addicted to the Seattles best latte’s now better than Starbucks! I get great coupons almost weekly etc. People are always pleasant and helpful. Not pretentious like other locations (Brentwood is just odd). This is my favorite place to hang on a cold or rainy day since it’s close to home.
This location now has free wifi too.
