I’m a huge fan of the Culver’s in Edwardsville. Their grilled chicken is amazing and I love the ice cream treats. Plus, the drive-thru was on fire last night! I’ve never seen the Culver’s team work so fast and the food was delicious, like always.

I’ve been a regular customer to this specific Culvers location for about two years. One of the reason why I go to this Culvers is because I know the service is amazing… until my past two visits. I’ve had some pretty bad experiences at other Culvers locations including getting my order wrong twice, finding hair in my food, and just plain rude service. I stopped going to that restaurant and found that the Edwardsville location had genuinely friendly and superb communication skills meaning they haven’t gotten my order wrong… EVER. So that puts us up to date at about last week when I walked into Culvers around lunch time. It was obviously the lunch rush and I immediately was stunned at the full lobby and the twenty or so cars in the drive thru. I was patient and stood in line at one of the three registers open. I waited for about ten minutes until I reached the counter where I watched the front counter employee walk away and start filling bags(for the backed up drive thru I’m assuming). I waited and finally she turns around and with this preteen attitude she informs me that register is closed. Not once did this employee notify me but instead walked away and minutes later tells my friend and I the register is closed. OK that’s fine, she’s probably just having a bad day and stressed due to the number of people in the lobby. So, I moved to the next shortest line to place my order. The same exact thing happened. As soon as I got to the counter I was told the register was closed. I cannot understand why in a rush you’d only have one register open. I spent twenty minutes waiting to place my order. I watched three other families walk out the door due to a number of issues including the same exact preteen girl who gave me her attitude, undercooked food, and just again bad service. I’ll probably think twice before I think about getting another meal at Edwardsville Culvers.

Culver’s is one of the few fast foods I eat when I do eat fast food. We discovered them in Northern Illinois in 1998. As far as fast food goes it has always been a great place to grab a burger and fries and some of their frozen custard. When you order you wait awhile(pleasingly similar to In and Out– the King of burgers) but get a fresh product made to order. The Edwardsville location is not my normal location but was in the area and ordered large fries and a double cheddar burger fully dressed except onions. I waited actually a little longer then a normal wait but that is expected during peak hours and I am happy to when you receive an above average product well not this time. The dressed burger had ketchup, mayo, one slice tomato and 2 pickles. It also had a slice of onion and a piece of garbage(a small piece of the white lettuce heel. Really? Not up to the standards Culver’s has proven in the past. Another reason besides food quality I usually refuse to eat at «fast food» as you must babysit your orders.

I’m not gonna lie — its very easy to forget Edwardsville/Glen Carbon has a Culvers only because its one of the very few chain restaurants not on the main strip. Its hidden on what should be the slowly-developing Goshen Road. Food is great, love their exclusive root beer and their ice cream. In all honesty the only times I really come in here is when I have decent coupons of theirs on hand, just so I can get a good deal on one of their meal baskets!

The food is good but after three times of, I believe it was the manager, getting my order wrong and then turning around and blaming it in me I would not go back. Twice I went in and had a coupon for a free child’s scoop. Each time I told them before they made the cup that I had the coupon. The worker(again, I believe it was the manager) snapped at me and said«Oh, well, you’re just making out with a deal tonight» very sarcastically. She basically said the same thing on the two separate occasions. In the third visit I ordered a concrete with 3 toppings. It usually comes with 2 but you can add a 3rd one for a quarter. I was aware of that and willing to pay for the extra topping. She went to make my friends and then she asked me if I was the one with the peanut butter and brownie. I told her yes but I also had marshmallow. She goes, oh well, I can add it but just to let you know it only comes with 2. I told her I was aware of that and willing to pay. I don’t plan in going back anytime soon. It’s embarrassing for the employees always making you feel like you are trying to steal or take advantage.

I like Culvers. However there are too many times that employees are standing around doing nothing when there are customers in line waiting to have an order taken. Pay attention.

My family and I loved the times we’d eaten at Culver’s in Wisconsin, so we were excited when one came to Edwardsville. When I was still in the area, we’d stop by semi-regularly to indulge in ButterBurgers, frozen custard, and light-bodied root beer. Fast food places simply don’t get better than this.

Culver’s is one of the best fast food joints around. Their food is fresh and tasty. I like the fact that they have fried walleye. You can’t find that at other fast food restaurants.

For fast food, the ButterBurger is one of my faves. Prepared from fresh ground beef, not previously frozen. Get the value basket with crinkle-cut fries.

I’m going to be fair and give them 3 stars. Apparently, some people really like this place. For a fast food, they try pretty hard. Very nice staff and nice dining area. I’ve had almost everything they serve and nothing really blew me away with quality except one shake. Burgers are average, fish and chicken a bit bland. However, I like the cheese curds and their Pumpkin Pie shakes(holiday season) are fantastic. Pricy for little shakes but very good. I don’t eat here very often as I prefer Steak n Shake for food quality. In fact, I think that Culver’s menu is similar to Steak n Shake. Lastly — not the most convenient location if you don’t know they are here…
