I have to give five stars because the new librarian in the children’s library is amazing!!! She has brought so many amazing new ideas for the children’s library. She allows them to read off the library fees(they have to read in the library) which won me over(fees add up when young ones are trying to learn responsibility of returning books on time). She came up with great ideas for summer reading program(even my teens love it). I can’t list all the things she has done with improvements, there are too many, but I am seriously impressed with the changes. Five stars for the children’s library section.

Hooray for the wonderful Edwardsville Public library! Our family lives in Edwardsville every summer(long story), and we frequent the library for the children’s programs and the study space. Wi-fi is indeed free, though I do wish so much that the connection were faster. Still, free is free. Story times with the librarians are exceptionally great! Our older kids enjoyed them long after they were the target age.

Decent-sized collection for a small city, and anything they don’t have, they are happy to help you find through interlibrary loan. I’m the one who has worn out all the old Hemingway novels.

There are 5 things that are great about Edwardsville, Illinois and this is clearly one of their hidden crown jewels. Quiet, free wifi, excellent official reference librarian, you could do scientific research, book reports, or just plain ask for help. An entire basement floor dedicated to children’s books, story time, reading clubs for children and even computer rentals for adult and children. It is a pillar of the community. The route 66 festival is held annually among many events. You can walk to downtown main street. librarians will even call you when books are due! Basket weaving, exhibits, stuff for the family have been here in the past. I really like the large windows that let in light and soft leather chairs. If you get hungry, you can walk to Wasabi Sushi, Sacred Grounds, Walgreens, CVS. even Pizza.
