«The more you shop, the more you save, for total value, at Shop N Save!» I’ve lived here so long, and shipped here so long, I remember the TV jingle! There’s no longer a Bank of Edwardsville inside, but I don’t bank with them and there’s a million around town anyway. What’s better is that they have an online app with coupons that you«clip» to your phone — just scan the in-app barcode at checkout! Between app coupons, the weekly $ 10 — $ 30 off coupons that pop up in the mail, their occasional sticker reward programs, and the lowest prices for the selection, it’s definitely the smartest place in town to buy your groceries. The fresh produce(especially the fruit) and the deli leave a bit to be desired, so we shop elsewhere for those. But for our everyday staples, we are here every week.

Shop N Save is my go-to grocery store. They have a Bank of Edwardsville branch just inside and a pharmacy should you need a prescription filled. At the back of the store there is a deli and specially made items in the islands around the deli counter also. I believe the deli closes at 9 – 10 at night. For the average shopper, Shop N Save will meet your needs. A large selection of popular grocery products at a good price? Check. In store coupons and $ 10/$ 50 on nearly every-other Thursday? Check. Coupon for 10 cents off your gas purchase outside? Check. There is also a cosmetic/personal care area by the pharmacy, a large area for wines and spirits, mixers, and beers, and a few aisles for paper goods such as magazines and cards, toilet paper and paper towels. There is also an aisle for party supplies and one for pet care/food as well. Like I said, most of your grocery needs will be met here. Of course to supply their customers with great prices, they must limit what they sell. So, if you’re looking for a sushi bar, extensive salad bar, chocolate shop on site, and a hoard of pre-made dinner entrees and sides, then this is not the place for you to shop. There is the bag your own groceries policy, similar to Aldi’s but I don’t mind this aspect at all. This way I can choose how I want my items bagged and as I usually bring my own shopping bags and insulated grocery bags, I don’t mind this in the least bit.

You’ll get more bang for your buck here than any other market in E’ville. There’s a Bank of E’ville branch and a pharmacy. No salad bar or seafood counter. Good prices on produce and deli items, but not quite the selection you’ll find at Schnuck’s or Dierbergs. You bag your groceries, but in return you get frequent specials and a bar-coded discount voucher for their gas station. While«Coupon Thursdays» are an adventure for some, I try to avoid them because of long lines of loaded carts and wall-to-wall people.
