Some friends and I took a short trip to Atlantic City halloween weekend. Looking online we found Cornfield of Terror at R&J farm. It was less than 20 mins from our hotel so we decided to give it a try. R&J Farm is a family farm run by Richard and Joanne(we met Joanne and she is a sweetheart) and family. It’s a beautiful and expansive farm. There are pumpkins to pick, hundreds of Christmas trees, 2 corn mazes, pony rides(during the day), picnic tables, a firepit, concession stand, and lovely season decorations to purchase. The cornfield of terror, which may not be suitable for kids and even some adults is $ 12.00 for a standalone ticket(or $ 17.00 with the not so scary corn maze). We opted to do both for $ 17.00. Also included was a haunted hayride that takes you to the cornfield of terror. Compared to other haunted houses i have been to in the NY hudson and philly area — this is small scale but loaded with fun and frights at every turn. I dont want to give too much away — just make sure you check it out next year! Hayride: excellent Cornfield of terror: awesome !!! The blinding lights and real fog, made the scares that much more horrifying. Substantial amount of actors to scare your shoes off(happened to the party behind us lol) They let small groups with enough time in-between so unless you were running you wouldn’t catch up to the party ahead of you. The teens behind us were so scared they ran and caught up. Corn maze: no actors scaring you but its pitch black so you need to utilize flashlights to make it through — still a little scary to me. There is an option for a trivia game while wandering through — since there were about to close we opted not to try this but will def check it out next year. The maze was so big with so may different paths to follow, We never found the exit and we tried twice(but again it was dark and we were still scared from the cornfield of terror). Both the we exited through the entrance lol. The actors and staff were awesome, scary, professional and accommodating. When they weren’t chasing with chainsaws or machetes they gladly stopped for a photo op :) The decorations they sold were mostly metal pumpkin stakes and lanterns. Beautiful items and the prices were great. My friends and i really enjoyed it better than some of the bigger popular attractions like pure terror in NY. We are coming back next year and every year after :) Thanks again :)
