As someone who has had MANY gym memberships, this place undoubtedly has the most bizarre policies. Note: this is for the AC location, not sure if EHT shares the same policies. Called to ask about signing up, and told there is a mandatory $ 75 «health assessment» to sign up. Was also told it comes with two«free» personal training sessions. At this point I’m thinking, «It’s not free, you’re charging $ 75 for it.» This isn’t The Biggest Loser and I don’t need your health assessment. You can waive the assessment, but only if you sign a 6-month contract. Given how expensive the membership is to begin with, that’s outrageous. My current gym membership is actually the same price, but with much better value(IMHO). They also don’t try to force me into a long-term contract with an arbitrary fee. This place is banking on the fact that there aren’t any nice gyms in AC. Still rather drive offshore for a much nicer gym, without the unnecessary price gouging.

I’m a mom of a toddler, visiting Atlantic City, so I needed childcare with a gym. I called around, and this was the only gym that had both, so for that alone — I give four stars. They have a good variety of machines, a walking track, fitness and cycle classes, teeny childcare room, but it’s a nice all-in-one gym. Especially when your stuck in the hotel with kids for a while. Takes about 15 mins to get here from AC. Also towels, lotion and shampoo/conditioner in the showers, a sauna, whirlpool, etc. Price is 18 bucks if you are getting childcare(15 regularly)

My background: avid gym goer, been to about 5 or so in my life. This is my second time renewing my membership here, and currently going there due to conviniance and how few people go there. I only weight lift, and don’t do classes. Pros: not very busy, most people stay out of the dumbbell area, nice locker rooms(better than most ive seen), you get a temp locker when you go, showers provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and towels. Place is pretty clean. Student rate is good. $ 119 for 3 months. Due to low population, you can do whatever you want and not have to wait for stuff to open up. Classes are included in your membership, but I don’t do them. Also a hot tub, but ya know, naked old men. Cons: Average age is 50+, not many people who can spot you, not many«big» guys to encourage weight lifting, can’t go into the locker room without seeing a minimum of 2 – 5 naked old men, the weight room is dark and depressing, there’s only 2 mirrors in the whole gym. 1 by the dumbbells. 1 by the squat rack.(can’t correct form if most if the stuff is away from the mirrors). That’s gym 101. Seen them put buckets out for rain dripping on 6÷12÷2015. One brand of rubber weights they use smell terrible. I have to specifically grab other weights.(It’s the ones by the bench) Rubber weights instead of iron. Only 1 squat rack. Only 1 bench, but has close to 60 machines. Half the people don’t have proper gym etiquette. Cost is absolutely outrageous unless you’re a student or employee. $ 220+ for 3 months. Not even top body building gyms are this much. No premade straight bar bell or ez grip barbells, so you have to use the customizable one. No improvements in the year since I was there last. If you get it for less than 40/month prolly worth it, I wouldn’t pay more than that for it.

Questions, comments, concerns, Complaints? Phone Atlanticare Customer Relations for issues regarding this facility. 609−652−3444 609−652−3546 The trashcans are frequently over-flowing. The exercise room floors go unswept. The ceilings leak when it rains or snows, and the staff is reticent and petulant. This place soaks up «hospital grant money» fast.(it is a «non-profit» facility). It is known as the WAL-MART of gyms in the area(don’t forget your coupons for«unlimited» training in the Clipper Magazine). The coupons relatively worthless since you have to join for 2 months at the regular rate(read the fine print.). This place is to gyms what hospital food is to food. Direct your questions, comments, and concerns to the numbers above for any real substantive action, then move on. Neither the staff nor disinterested management will act on requests to improve things. The more dissatisfied people they send out into the street the less work for them(and they know it).
