Went for breakfast on Saturday morning. The«ham fondue» is out of this world. Wow. Amazing. I would describe it more like a big, deep quiche with no crust. There are scrumptious chunks of real ham swimming in the eggs and cheese. Maybe a ham pool party is a better name? They also have a great selection of freshly baked breads, sticky buns, and other comforting foods. The coffee was pretty OK for a place like this. Would go back for sure.

Great location to take your kids for festivals/holidays. Good home-cooked food and fresh local milk. a HUGE assortment of goodies to take home with you as well. My girlfriend and I have taken her kids here for a few years now. I came from the country and am now living in Washington. When we visit here it reminds me of home. If you’re looking for a review telling you whether or not to eat here and visit, I say go.

The people that work here and so nice, and the peanut butter cookies anywhere. We also go here regularly for the bacon and cheeses.

I realize I’m going against the grain in this review, so I’ll explain the star rating: This is a BUFFET! Minus 1 star. The food is prepared hours before serving. I had a Reuben sandwich, that was a minimum of 1 ½ hours old. Minus 1 star. The Flies! The Flies! Minus 1 star. Sorry folks, I hope anyone else visiting here has a better experience. I for one won’t be coming back.

What a great place! If you’re looking for farm fresh food this is it. We stopped for breakfast and it was literally the best breakfast I’ve ever had. The family and I can’t wait until our next time in PA so we can return for lunch and/or dinner. We may even make a special trip just to visit because you can’t find a place like this.

What a gem of a place! We spent a great afternoon there– the white plastic slides are the best kid activity ever! The 3 meal deal was a steal and everything was completely delicious(turkey, ham and pot roast) And then the options for desert are endless– I had the Orange blossom cake and it was out of this world, we also got fudge and ice cream that was wonderful. The cows outside are so friendly and very entertaining to watch. It was a super fun day and I’m so glad we stopped in!

I like it! 4.5 stars. Springhouse is pretty out of the way, but lunch was delicious and I like the farm country vibe of the place. I’d definitely go back and try more things and check out the little store they have. Here’s the scoop for Sunday lunch. — It’s cafeteria style and you can check out the hot options on the website. — Don’t be afraid to skip the hot options. They are plentiful and delicious, but there’s also a decent salad bar and a bunch of desserts that you see once you round the corner. — If you are going to do the salad bar as a meal(which you could totally do), grab a pepperoni roll from the hot options. Not too much and worth it. — They weigh the salad bar stuff and charge by weight at the end, so consider getting a reasonable serving and then going back of you want more. Overall, an excellent meal. Worth the trip for sure.

This place is fantastic! We «yelped» it and were not disappointed. It’s homemade food that is delicious — nice variety, nice staff, and incredible baked goods and desserts. Don’t miss it!

Great place to go for desserts. Their strawberry shortcake is out of this world! They use homemade biscuits w/vanilla ice cream, strawberries & strawberry sauce. Delicious! I do not live close to The Spring House, I drive 40 minutes one way to eat their strawberry shortcakes. They also have very good chocolate milk. If you are a big fan of sweets this is the place to go. Love the atmosphere & being able to eat outside at the picnic tables with my dogs.

Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. It takes me and hour and 15 minutes(one way) to get to this place. And it is worth it. The area is low key and very calm. They have a dandy website where you can check for specials. They have dairy items and homemade bread goods for sale. – also piles of freshly made pies! Fresh, Fresh, Fresh. All of the dinners and DESSERTS I have tried have been low-carb diet busting but– delicious and satisfying.

Mmmm Mmm good! I can’t stop thinking about the Spring House! We went there last weekend and I was very impressed by their wide selection of baked goods, deli, soap, fudge, dairy selections! The sour cream cookies were so moist and iced with perfection! We had lunch there and it was cafeteria style. I had the chicken over biscuit and gravy with REAL mashed potatoes and my lover had the three pork combo with three sides and washed it down with their famous chocolate milk. It was fantastic. We bought some milk, cookies, and loaded baked potato salad to take home with us. The milk was $ 3.75 a gallon! That’s less than the grocery store. The baked potato salad was amazing. I wish we would’ve gotten more! I Can’t wait to try more of their baked goods and soap! Everything is fresh(except the ice cream and some cheese) and delicious! I highly recommend!

I have so many great memories of The Spring House(TSH). When I was a kid, our youth group organized hay rides and bonfires on autumn evenings. And trust me, the fall is definitely when you want to pay TSH a visit. On the weekends, they have everything from pumpkin patches to corn mazes to hog roasts. The secret’s out, though… so expect long lines for the breakfast buffet and hay rides. If you have kids or even if you’re a couple looking for something to do on the weekend, TSH is the place to go. TSH also exists when it isn’t fall. Who knew. During these months, you can take advantage of the shorter lines for home-cooked and hearty lunches(on the weekdays) and breakfast buffet(on the weekends). They also have a nice little shop that sells seasonal food items and milk. Oh, did I not mention the chocolate milk? TSH’s chocolate milk is the nectar of the gods. I’m quite sure the cows from TSH have magical properties and the dairy farmers went to Hogwart’s School of Witchcraft and Agriculture. Try. The. Chocolate. Milk. Yes, the prices for the food and activities at TSH are a wee bit pricey. But you get what you pay for — quality. Go and visit the good people at TSH for some fun fall activities and return for the chocolate milk.

The Springhill is a great family business and a refreshing way to take a break from highly marketed, over priced places to eat. Friendly staff, you’re always greeted with a smile. Best part is everything is fresh(baked goods, milk, and meals) and everything is either their own products or from a locally owned and operated place of business.

Home cooking in a restaurant. Great deserts, chocolate milk made on site. My kids love the ice cream and the play area outside. Great place for preschool field trips too.

The Spring House was a great place to stop on my way back home from Somerset PA. I picked up a gallon of fresh milk, and some fresh chocolate milk for my husband. I also couldn’t resist the peanut butter cookies and cinnamon rolls from the bakery. They offer free samples of their cookies in the store, and they are so soft and tasty! The milk was delicious, and the cookies were eaten in no time. If I had more time, I would have ordered lunch here — the menu looked delicious! I will definitely be going back for lunch, more cookies, and milk!

This place is simply amazing in that it offers a bakery, restaurant, gardens, picnic area, and outdoor play area, including natural slides, toy cattle, and tractor. This really is fun for the whole family. Must try their ice cream!

Disclaimer: I have a soft spot for the Springhouse, because it was my first job ever. :) After leaving behind the parking and landlord wars of the city, and moving past the wildly high property taxes of Mt Lebo, I’ve settled into homeownership in WashPa and am rediscovering all the joys the area has to offer. The Springhouse is definitely one of them! Do you like chocolate milk? Homemade pies and baked goods? Ooey-gooey, cheesy casseroles? Then you’ll love the Springhouse. Think: Paula Deen gone SWPA. It’s delightful homemade goodness, and it ain’t worrying about calorie counting! You can pick up meats, cheeses, cold deli salads, milk, butter, lemonade, iced tea, homemade breads, cookies, tarts, pies, cakes, jams and jellies, candles and soaps — oh my! And do not miss the hot food bar. It’s all made right there, and it’s pretty much like stopping by your grandma’s for lunch or dinner. Oh, they cater too, and you can order your holiday cookies or smoked hams there, too! Hot food must-tries: Penn State chicken(named for the owners’ alma mater, a delish chicken with melty Swiss and a creamy, buttery white wine sauce), Alabama casserole(carrots, corn, beans, peas + tons o’ cheddar, mayo, and butter), pepperoni rolls(small but SO good). And again, you’ve gotta try their homemade chocolate milk! Also: Great place to take kids. They have an area in the pasture next to the building that has hay bales, pumpkins, etc. for them to play with. :) Yes, they seriously make their own chocolate milk on site! It’s amaaaazing. They have a great selection of ice cream and frozen treats, as well, so make sure to stop by next time you’re in the area!

My what can I saw about the Spring House. It has the local farm fresh ingredients, great staff and fantastic hot lunches/dinner. Everything is just so good! The bread is soft and the milk and lemon aid are the best! The home made slides and the cows are great for the kids!

Been there twice now. Went in June 2010 and was expecting perfection, and I was bored. The food(baked bone in chicken) was terrible & it was so expensive. Today we were driving by at lunchtime and my mother wanted to go. I agreed so I could try it again. My daughter and I both got open turkey sandwich & mashed potatoes. It was like a yummy elementary lunch all over again. I really liked it this time, but OMG it was expensive. $ 26.00 for three of us and mu Mum only got soup.
