Very good shredded beef tacos! I’m from LA. I miss San Diego Mexican food. Very good here as usual! Good quesadilla also.

This is going to be my new lunch and dinner spot! I had the Cochinita pibil tacos and they were SOGOOD! The habanero salsa was pretty spicy and paired perfectly with the tacos! The service is friendly, the restaurant is clean and the food is good! Plus it’s no really expensive and they have a HUGE variety of tasty beverages!

Tried this place out the other day. Ordered 12 chicken rolled tacos with guacamole and cheese and a bean and cheese burrito. The chicken in the rolled tacos had a fishy taste and their gaucamole was TERRIBLE!!! They didn’t even put any gaucamole or cheese on the bottom layer of tacos so only the top 6 had some. It really didn’t matter since after the first couple bites, I ended up tossing them anyways! My son normally LOVES bean and cheese burritos but he said this burrito was gross .I’d have to agree with my 6 year old after taking a bite. They limit it to only 2 hot sauce per item ordered which is ridiculous and unheard of at any other local taco shop but I could care less since even the hot sauce sucked. Enjoy my $ 13.00. I won’t ever be back. Adiós Benito!!!

I LOVE this place. All of the food is home cooked and fresh! It small but like eating with family and the food is awesome! They are friendly and welcoming! It’s one of my favorite places. Don’t Be fooled by the small exterior. It’s like grandma cooking for you! Feels good eating here !!

The reason I’m giving this place a 5star obviously isn’t for the looks. The staff was friendly and made you feel at home. The food was indeed more authentic than most taco shops especially the flavored waters:) I had the melon water which they make fresh. Yes no high fructose corn syrup lol. On my next visit I am going to try the Jamaica. Most taco shop DONT have authentic Jamaica or Horchata. My experience was a nice family welcoming me into their home and serving me great food with the upmost respect. What more can you expect?

Excellent selection of specialties from various parts of Mexico. A humble place on the outside, but the food and dishes are obviously created with passion and authenticity. Talk to the owners. Ask for recommendations. Ask questions. Try stuff you’ve not had. Super friendly people. I plan to work my way through the menu. Excited to try the key lime pie on next visit.

Went there today for my first n last time, I ordered chesse enchiladas and a breakfast burrito to go. I got hm hungry and excited to try a new place and was sadly disappointed… how can you mess up cheese enchiladas? All food was bland, I added salt and couldn’t even eat it… I do give it one star because they lady who helped me very sweet.

Although my mom liked her food, I was majorly disappointed! She has the tacos which rice and beans, pretty good! I got carne asada fries and was completely displeased by the fact that there was barely any meat on them. They were more like sour cream and cheese fries. Major let down for my first stop whole in San Diego

I think it’s worth mentioning the customer service was very friendly, unfortunately that is the only reason I’m not giving this place one star. It is extremely hot inside and there is one tiny fan circulating the hot air. The prices are okay, but she was having an issue running my card because her«square» was broken and she had to type my card number in her phone a couple times before it went through(which really bothered me). Then there was the issue of the food. My boyfriend and I were the only people there and it came out fast, but the beans and rice were so old. Tasted like beans from a can and the rice tasted liked it had been sitting out for days. Sorry Benito, but I won’t be coming back.

Best cali burrito in San Diego. Nay, best FOOD in San Diego. I would get behind this burrito if it ran for president. I would canvass neighborhoods for it, send mail flyers, I would dedicate my life to this burrito and it’s VP could be the red sauce.

Great. Mexican. Food. The lady and gentleman had my order to go quickly and didn’t scrimp on the tacos or the extras, the flavors were authentic, and the portions were substantial. It was nice to be able to pay by card and have my receipt emailed to me too! Absolutely returning here.

I bought a $ 6 for $ 10 deal worth of food from this place on Unilocal.I thought wow great deal. I walked in and told them about my Unilocal deal and they had no clue what I was talking about. I then showed it to them on my phone. Still no clue. They eventually called someone and I ordered my food. They had a pretty good special with 4 mini tacos w/rice & beans for $ 6. I also ordered 3 rolled tacos. When I was about to leave with my food, I asked for 2 additional red salsas. The lady told me it would be an additional .75¢. What?! I said forget it and the owner/cook saw me have attitude and gave them to me. Why nickel and dime customers off something so petty. A lot of taco shops have salsa bars and you get all the salsa your desires! Makes no sense to me. Is 75¢ worth losing a customer? The food was ok at best. Also the other blunders would have been overlooked if the food was slamming. I will not be returning.

The stuff is always friendly. The food is made as you order it and their sauces are amazing. They also sell delicious barbacoa on some days. This really feels like home made food unlike the other taco shops. Definitely a place you might want to try if you like authentic Mexican food.

I have been excited to try this place because of the great Unilocal reviews. Unfortunately my excitement was short lived once we tried it. First off the workers are very friendly and that was of course a nice start. But the restaurant was easily 100 degrees inside. So we waited outside while they prepared our food. When we got home we found that they didn’t modify the carne asada burrito the way we ordered it, so my son threw a fit ! And then the bean and cheese burrito was really gross. Hands down the worst beans I have ever had. We threw it away. But the salsa was GOOD and the carne was tasty, they just forgot to not add the pico de gallo. This place is not good for moms.

I had some very good Shredded Beef Tacos, rice, refried beans, and chips and salsa for dinner for only around $ 7 and some change from this place. It included an ice cold bottle of water.( ) The place has a very good homemade feeling. The beef tacos were very good. The beef was juicy and flavorful. I just wish they would put more beef in them, but then again, I am a big eater.( ) The corn shell was perfectly fried, and I love it, that they put cotija cheese on them. The rice and beans, which are made fresh daily and were very good. The beans were my favorite of the two. They had an excellent robust rich flavor. I finished them off with their excellent tortilla chips. The rice was good but a little more seasoning, salt, would of been perfect. The rice was very well cooked. It was nice and fluffy and light.( ) I tried both of their hot sauces. The red was mild and had very good flavor. The green sauce was my favorite because it had a nice bite, tang, and smoothness at the end.( ). The sauce went very well with everything I put it on. The service was very friendly and they made you feel as if you are at home. I am not kidding, the lady that took my order and served my food, made me feel well taken care of; as if I were a visiter in her home. mUsT eAt MoRe BeEf TaCoS…
