I love this place. It’s a quick walk from my house and the manager/bartender is just so nice. Will definitely be going back soon!

The staff here was very attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. If you like the loud, crowded and crazy, then Saturday nights would be the night for you. Karaōke was blaring and we were staring. Great place to people watch and relax with a cold one. Sunday nights are more laid-back and better for conversation as you sip your libation of choice. This place isn’t going to win any awards for décor or location, but who really cares. It’s a local hole in the wall, right? Located at the corner of Second and Madison, there are hundreds of places to eat within stumbling distance. They have a good variety of beers on tap and a full bar if that’s more your style. The prices here won’t break the bank and they are even cheaper during a weekday happy hour. I will definitely return to the Blarney Stone.

I absolutely Loooved this place! Have to admit I was a bit weirded out when I first walked in, my date and I were both dressed up and the people there were in casual clothing so we stood out hahaha. We said ok we’ll have 2 drinks and go somewhere else given that it was 12:30am when we got there. We got our 1st round, 2 Guinness and 2 Jagger shots, we needed to catch up lol, the bartender gave us our total and I was shocked, I couldn’t believe it, I thought he was kidding or drunk lol our total was $ 18 see I am from Hollywood so $ 18 is a shot and the tip for the bartender haha. After that I was like«yup, were staying here!» We finally got into the vibe because the music was definitely on point. They had karaōke, a small but good enough dance floor, and pool tables. The people singing were choosing songs that just made our night. We meet really nice people, the bartenders were both extremely nice, and of course the prices were to die for. We decided to go back the next night because a couple of people we met there wanted to hang out with us again so we did, not disappointed at all, once again we had a blast! This will definitely be my go to spot whenever I’m down in San Diego.

This little hole in the wall is a gem. I love to come here and sing karaōke. They always have awesome staff and a super relaxed vibe. G is the main bartender and he is a total sweetheart! He has awesome customer service, and really knows what he is doing.

It’s a total dive bar. The flooring is discussing and the décor is horrible. But they have nice bartenders and good prices.

Good cheap bar. Don’t order anything complicated, it probably won’t be right. Needs a complete remodel. Kinda hideous. Bathrooms are decently clean but also hideous. Karaōke is not so good. Customers are an eclectic bunch but no problems(except a really drunk broad one night had a problem with another…) and the pool players are chilled out. Tournament nights fill up the space a bit more. Don’t come here if the sight of bikers make you uncomfortable, especially Sunday rides days. They don’t bother me a bit :) St Patricks Day here is fun fun free food and festive atmosphere.

This is in response to GREGWAR(S) comments about Blarney Stone NOT being racist. Im the«clown» who wrote a review based on my experiences there. And posted my opinion. Lets move on to facts. I was a security guard there for almost 2 years. The guy BEFORE me who also happen to be a black man was a guard there for a long time as well. Both of us has taken our share of name callings and near fights with the drunk idiots at that bar. The trucker who unloads goods for what used to be Fresh & Easy also called El Cajon pd because he saw the Caucasian woman giving oral sex to a guy in the back of the bar. El Cajon pd to me this: They’re not in there buying clothes or grocery shopping. They’re drinking. So if you want to get back at them, get their license plate numbers and call us as they depart the bar & we will pick them up on a d.u.i. I used to bend over backwards go above and beyond till they expressed to me what they really think about me. As a security officer I’ve been called nigger so many times and been challenged by you ppl its ridiculous. Andrew the bouncer is nice. So is the brunette bartender(forgot her name). That bar has so many drugs and illegally activity in there, its no secret. My friend who is an CHP officer visited the bar on his off duty day because i complained to him about how stressful it was working there and he observed a «suspicious activity» with the black camaro that used to be parked in the back of that bar! As far as taking me to court, there’s no need for me to be worried. I have more than enough evidence & witnesses. Everything I stated here are FACTS. I have names and dates as well.

Just moved to the area was looking for somewhere close to home to have a few, this place is not it! To small, trashy in side and the crowd was not my kind of people. The door guy was nice though!

What a dump! The only place I have seen a room full of uglier people is going to wal-mart! The only reason I gave it an extra star is for the cute bartender and the drinks are priced right.

No Irish Pub. Super noisy. Entertaining crowd but nothing like The Blarney Stone in Clairemont which is a San DIego classic. You may run into a crowd of El Cajon locals, enough said(if you live in San Diego, you know what I mean).

Stop in for a Bloody Mary before heading home from lunch. The place had a make over in the front but the inside is dicey as ever. Nice bartenders and not a bad on making cocktails. If you want a cheap drink and great character patrons then this place is for you. We don’t go out to bars that often; but this place has always been our go too on the way home.

I lived in El Cajon for 15 years. I’ve produced quite a number of TV shows in El Cajon. Needless to say, I’m known there. I’ve also filmed in a number of pubs in and around San Diego. The management, staff and locals where always excited to see Good olé Grilldog Stop by to lap up a few liquid libations. However, if you were looking for that one spot, my favorite spot to play pool, watch sporting events or just hang out with a cold drink, then it’s the Blarney Stone Hands Down. In fact I even filmed my first Road Kill Episode there. That was the episode that actually got me recognized internationally. Although they don’t serve food, the management occasionally will spring for pizza or subs for free! Plus the locals all have favorite recipes and typically show up with food to share. Hanging out there for 15 years, yes, I’ve had a few bartenders that could have been a tad better. You know the young gals that seem to only want to flirt with the young studs. However, once they got into the gear of the place everyone was satisfied. So stop in, it’s a great place to hang out and great prices on their drinks. Feel free to tell them Grill Dog sent ya!

This is an awesome bar. And I am sober saying this. This is the first bar that I went to when I moved my «then» girlfriend to East County. Back then the management and the bartenders were good. And since i’ve returned to the bar in October when I kicked sobriety full time, I’ve noticed that the Management is better, the bar is cleaned up and they have pretty bartenders. They have a bartender who resembles Lindsay Lohan but thick. To my friends who know me personally and are reading this, I’m a big Lindsay Lohan fan. Automatic 5 stars. j/k. 5 stars definitely for the service, the tasty drinks and the great establishment.

The bars is an OK dive bar. When I went on a Saturday night people were playing rockband on a PS3. It was actually a good time, the setup was awesome, the shots were poured heavily and I got wasted drinking rumplemintz with the host. I would suggest anyone to go on a Saturday night

This bar prevents me from going next door to the Rite Aid and grabbing a scoop of chocolate malted crunch ice cream in peace. Why must there always be a dirty-looking drunktard smoking a cigarette outside saying something perverted when I walk out eating my ice cream cone? This is why I should buy some mace.
