The customer service is amazing. They Remember my name all of the time and the food is delicious! The spicy bar B q is my favorite and the pulled pork and BBQ chicken is my go to! Fav sides are jalapeño beans and their original organic potato salad… Bomb! They offer way better prices than Phills to be honest. Also love the convincing location. You also won’t wait in crazy lines like at Phils. They’re also super honest about wait times. We’re regulars!

I had the sausage with cheddar inside of it. I thought it was amazing. I ordered the mac n cheese and waffle fries for my sides. The food was a little pricy, but worth it for the large portions of food. You can also get a free ice cream cone as well for dessert.

Terrible… ribs were under cooked and still so much fat on them. Okra, spinach, beef sandwich were all horrible. Totally over priced for the lack of quality for sure. Phil’s is laughing at is for coming here.

Dickey’s bbq, spells out trouble, in a sense of goodness, yet a bit overwhelming feeling; with its section of menu items. After a long 2 hr kids movie, we finally made out of the theater! Just happen to be a bright, large, and Yummy sign outside of the theater that spells out B-B-Q Joint. Even though I just had two hotdogs, and one large popcorn inside the movie theater, I still managed to walk-in and place an order here at Dickey’s Bbq PIT. The family members were a bit of a shock, the fact I still had an appetite to eat. The truth of the matter is, I wanted to check-in using my Unilocal app so I can write a review to this new place in San Diego(El Cajon city). Okay, fine am also a fat boy who loves to eat. Had hard time deciding what to eat, its a big of a large, confusing menu. Luckily, the beautiful, sweet, and awesome lady understood my situation as being overwhelmed and made few suggestions, and I happily accepted them all. I got me a little of everything they had, its a plate that includes beef brisket, polish style kielbasa, pork ribs, and pulled pork. In addition to my side orders I got, the Idaho Russet Potato salad, cabbage slaw, and BBQ beans. The flavor, quality of food, and taste were spot on, and simply deliciousuoon, and ready for round two soon. The best part was, they have free ice cream for kids,(free) but of course had to have some as well. Honestly, am usually iffy bout«franchise» restaurants, especially BBQ joints, but this one seem to deliver good food as a local BBQ joint in the neighborhood.

Let the food poisoning begin! Roses are red, violets are blue, what am I doing at Dickey’s, Phils BBQ we miss you!!! My first time going to Dickeys today. I ordered two plates. One for me and one for my wife. Then 30 minutes of eating my wife had to run to the bathroom because her stomach was upset. It was kind of weird in the restaurant when I watch the gentleman take this old meat out of a warming oven type of container and unwrap the meat from cellophane and cut it up and then re-wrapped the meat and put it back in this warming contraption. I think that’s where the problem exists. No wonder the place was completely empty on a Sunday afternoon being next-door to a movie theater. Also reading the other reviews I can totally see why. There was at least five reviews of talked about poisoning. It’s all about cleanliness and how everything is packaged. I’m sure that beef sits in that warming container for at least a couple days. So gross to me and dangerous to us all. I seen a Kobe burger on special at Jordans next door and that is where I’m going to be my next time I stop in this shopping center.

We really like the BBQ at Dickeys. Our favorite is the ribs. I wish they would slice the brisket instead of chopping it up. The Mac n Cheese is very good and the kids love the soft service cream. The staff here at this location is very friendly. We tried the one in clairmont and we will never return there. That place is appalling. We will only come to Rancho SD because of the wonderful service and good food.

I love Dickey’s BBQ! I first tried it in Vegas and I go every time I head over there. I am really happy they moved out to California! They have delicious meat and the sauces are amazing. I love their cole slaw and baked beans the best, but all their sides are good. This location is a little cramped, so I usually take it to go, but whether to stay or go make sure to grab a little come with vanilla ice cream on your way out! The ice cream is always complimentary.

Heard about this place from a friend and was excited to go. Took the family there for dinner and was severely disappointed. Should have walked out when the server delivered our food before we even finished filling up our drinks. «FASTFOOD» BBQISNOTOKAY. The meat had very little flavor and was dry. The baked beans tasted like they were out of a can. The cheesy creamed spinach had the consistency of baby food. But hey at least they didn’t mess up my kids chicken nuggets. Should have stayed with our main BBQ staple Cali-Comfort.

I didn’t do a thorough review of the menu, but I just ordered a pulled pork sandwich with beans and green beans and a small drink(12.96). They brought me the food on a tray that made it look like it wasn’t much food, but it was more than enough. The Barbecue sauce was good(I mixed their sweet with the spicy). The food was great. The meat was moist but not dripping wet and the beans and green beans had good flavor. Fair priced on the high side or maybe I’m still used to Midwest prices.

Have come here a couple times w my roommate and we have left full and happy each time. The food that I’ve had has always been delicious. Usually a sandwich with some combination of meats. Very good! The sides have always been solid too. Love the sauces that they have on hand as well. The daily deals seem to be the best bargain and is usually the first place I look on the menu. Impressed w the variety of meats offered though I usually go pork or beef brisket. Really tasty bbq! Service is good enough and doesn’t diminish the experience. One thing that certainly boosts the experience is the FREEICECREAM. Love the touch, love the taste! One note is that the prices more resemble a restaurant in my opinion where it seems to be a fast casual type of chain. So they seem a little bit high, but the food more than makes up for it on my opinion and I’ve never left hungry. Definitely will return.

Ok, so I like this place. I came here and ordered the meat plate. I was unsure of the food but since it’s a new place I gave it try. Much to my surprise I was extremely satisfied with the great taste of the food and the portion. The meat was tender and not dried out. The BBQ sauce was great and they had three different flavors to choose from, spicy, sweet, and original. Being a huge fan of BBQ I am happy this is restaurant opened up in Rancho. One point I think is worth making is the price. I visited the restaurant with a coupon and it was was a great deal but without a coupon expect to pay about 13 bucks for a two meat plate with sides. Plenty of food and I am stuffed. I will return and I would recommend people give it a try.

Not sure why this place has such low ratings. This is by far one of my favorite places to eat! Sure, the food is a bit expensive and the people inside could be a little friendlier, but the food is down right amazing and the quality is consistent. I love getting a brisket and pulled pork sandwich with the spicy bbq sauce. SOGOOD! Their Mac and cheese and potato casserole are also amazing! It leaves me absolutely stuffed and happy. Not to mention they have FREE ice cream and cool reusable drinking cups. It’s awesome!

Second Dickey’s I’ve been to, and at both locations the customer service has been horrible. Which sucks, because the food is incredible. Will probably keep coming back based on the fact the food is just that good. But I really wish that they would hire people that would at least pretend to like working here.

My pulled pork is better, but this place is good. I am from the south and I miss good bbq places. Can’t seem to find one out here on the west coast. Dickies pulled pork and brisket are good. My kids liked the mac and cheese, it was ok to me. The beans were good, not great, and too spicy. The potato casserole was really good as were the rolls. My really picky son loved the green beans. Who knew? Since this is a relatively new restaurant in the east county, it’s pretty popular. If you’ve got a smaller party you probably won’t have a problem with seating. If you have six or more people you might have to split up or wait for all of the onesies twosies that are in the bigger tables to leave. Seriously, get a table suitable to your parties size. Pay attention. It matters.

Not impressed. Long line took 20min and that was just getting sides to go to sample. A couple behind me with a child left after waiting 10mins. The guy in front of me ordered all his family’s meals to eat there and the guy behind the counter made them to go so that backed up a few mins. The customers didn’t look too happy and becoming impatient. It was making me wonder if I want to go there again? When you finally get up to order over the tall counter the first person behind the counter asks what meat you want, then the next in line is the sides order then you reach the register. Everyone who was working seemed under pressure, stressed out, sighing, and wasn’t prepared for high paced scenario. I’m glad I didn’t order any meat or to eat there it would be a way longer wait. Got there at 7:30p left exactly at 7:50p. The food got home it wasn’t piping hot and got cold quick but it was still okay. 2 stars for the nice new interior. Would not recommend.

I’m torn between a 3 or 4 stars but am giving them the benefit of the doubt. My wife and I love BBQ(especially me). So with a new BBQ place nearby we decided to check it out. My wife ordered the Smokehouse Salad. This is chopped beef brisket, romaine lettuce, shredded chedder, fried onion tanglers & she had the ranch on the side. She said the meat was moist and tender and she LOVED the onion tanglers. She really enjoyed her meal and thus my reason for maybe giving the 4 stars. I odered the one meat plate. This comes with two sides(I chose slaw & beans), small roll, two pickles and two raw rings of onion. The meat I chose was the beef brisket. Here’s the rub… it was very little meat and mostly fat. They weigh all meat going into a plate but it includes whatever fat is attached. The portion was fair for the price had it actually been meat. Mind you I enjoy the fat but only as an add on to the meat portion. The meat that was served was almost too tender and watery. It had VERY little firmness and this is quite contrary to what brisket should be. It was more like a soggy pulled beef. The side dishes: Slaw was mayonaisse based and very crispy, flavorful. A highlight of the meal for both of us. We would have loved a much bigger portion. The beans were average at best. Slight smokey taste, somewhat tender but had no bacon/ham in the molasses based sauce. When eating at a BBQ restaurant, the entrée typically is two fold. The meat and the sauce. Some restaurants can only get one of the two right, and very few get both. Here they are average in both categories. They offer three BBQ sauces on the side. They have cups where you pour the sauces into using a ladle provided. They were sticky and not especially clean from other customers use. The three flavors were sweet, smoke and spicy. The suaces were average and the flavors not really dicernable. The spicy was the same flavor but with just a slight bite at the end. So…the question is… would I come back here again? If we were going out for BBQ the answer is a quick NO. We’d drive the few extra miles to go to Coops. IF we were at the movies… the answer is POSSIBLY. The bottom line is I wouldn’t go out of my way… except maybe for the Slaw… Yeah the Slaw! My wife says the onion tanglers too!

Took my little family to eat some meat, loved the ribs, very tender and juicy. I need my sauce on the side not on top. Favorite sauce was the HOT one, just the right kick to it. My kids loved the dessert, vanilla ice cream!!!

Really enjoyed the moist turkey… would come back again. Everyone is trying so hard… to make sure your order is right. Dickey’s also have a «Big Yellow Cup Club» go on line

I’ve been looking forward to this Dicky’s Barque Pit to open in my neck of the woods. I stopped in for an early dinner and ordered the two meat dinner plate and two sides for $ 12.95. I chose the smoked brisket and pulled pork for my two meats, a side of baked beans and the waffle fries for my sides. The meal also came with fresh baked roll, onions, pickles, and unlimited BBQ sauce and soft serve ice cream. Both meats were quite good and they provided a decent amount of both. I would of prefer more, but the price was fair. The brisket had a good exterior color, nice flexibility, which means would bend not break due to dryness, hence the meat retained a very good moisture level The brisket had a mild smokey flavor and a thin smoke line. It was nice to eat on its own or with a small amount of their original BBQ sauce. The pulled pulled pork was very good too. The meat was tender and flavorful, but it did not have as a smokey flavor as the brisket did. However, it did provide that great porky goodness. I used the roll to make a mini pulled pork sandwich and added the fresh cut onions and the pickles. great stuff. The waffle fries were good and came well seasoned, but they needed just a tad more time in the fryer because they did not have that golden brown color and crispiness they should have. The tasted good and I ate them with the BBQ sauce. The baked beans were very good and had a nice peppery flavor. The beans were tender and came in a great sauce. I look forward to returning and trying there BBQ ribs. Nice service.
