One of the worst, if not the worst, attorneys in San Diego. He told me it would cost $ 3500 for a «FULL SCOPE» representation. He accepted $ 2600.00 up front and said he would start working on my case. I wasn’t given a receipt or signed any type of contract or Substitution of Attorney. Met with him several times over the next few months to prepare for my divorce case and took payments from me. Nothing was done until the Friday before trial, when he demanded the remaining $ 500 balance I owed or he wouldn’t appear at trial that Wednesday. THEN I signed and was handed a LIMITED SCOPE contract. STILL not given any copy of a Substitution of Attorney. And I was informed my trial wouldn’t settle and would «probably» continue and that he refused to do any work after the hearing. You have GOT to be kidding me — to wait until the last minute to do that to somebody with less than a week until trial. Then at trial, several issues came up that were never discussed and he refused to discuss any of them with me. Unprofessional, untruthful and unethical. I will be contacting the State and County Bar to report this. Total waste of time and money. $ 3500 to file an Income and Expense Declaration, Schedule of Assets and Debts and to make one appearance? And then be informed he was only hired on a «limited scope», knowing there would be future hearing dates. What an outrage. He Never filed any of the wage assessments, liens, subpoenas or motions that he told me he would take care of and I’ve all but lost my case now. And it’s too late to file any appeals because — «I never hired a court reporter» for trial. He didn’t do a thing for me except take my money and lie to me. If you need a Family Law Specialist, or any attorney for that matter, go elsewhere. And as if it can’t get worse, I find after the 2 months we were meeting, he never once made it to the courthouse to review my file or inform me of any hearings that I was never served to appear at. So I basically paid $ 3300 for nothing.

Mr Leavitt is a great local attorney who cares about his clients’ well being. I’m a local chiropractor in the area and I’ve worked with at least 15 different lawyers over the last 5 years. I’m impressed with the time Mr Leavitt spends with his clients and the personal attention. The feedback I get from my patients or mutual clients is always very positive. He also handles cases in a timely manner which is always appreciated by clients.

The whole experience from the admin assistant to the lawyer himself was very pleasant. Connie was very friendly and made my wife, baby and I very comfortable. Mr. Leavitt was professional yet welcoming. I’ll update my review when the case settles but I’m now confident everything will work out fine.
