This place has long been a favorite Texas mid-coast supper spot of ours, as was this owner family’s previous place in nearby Wharton. We have been patrons for 35+ years. But, tonight, we encountered massive over-breading on my fried shrimp, our O-rings, &LALI’S chicken-fried steak. The«breading» on the steak wasn’t even cooked all the way through. The pics are of the excess breading which I had to remove so that I could eat my meal. Be careful here !

Very interesting place to have a meal, trying to remember the word those hipster kids use — eclectic. Found by accident while traveling, and jonesing, for a gyro sandwich. Made perfect sense on the GPS — desire traditional Greek food, go to a place with the name Greek brothers. All I wanted was a pita packed full of gyro meat, no such luck Tukk. No gyros at this Greek joint. What I ended up with was something of a chicken, vegetable, cheese concoction, which by the flavor of it was at least 50 percent salt. The saving grace for this place was this adorable little lady and her husband who worked the counter. She has the gift of gab. Enjoyed listening to her stories. So, you«Greek» brothers, you have her to thank for your 4th star.

I was stuck working in Texas and I made it a point to try a ribeye in every city I entered. My travels brought me from Dallas to Houston to San Antonio to San Angelo and everywhere in between. One night I wound up in El Campo and came across Greek Bros. It has the vibe of a music joint in Austin but considering it was in such a small town I was not expecting much. The place was packed! And I come to find out that it was because it was dollar an ounce ribeye night. They literally butchered your meat before they put it on the grill. Their must have been 50 ribeyes on that grill. I just went with 22oz cause thats my lucky number, and you tell me where are you going to get a quality ribeye that is 22oz for 22 bucks anywhere? This beauty was by far the best ribeye I ate in ALL of Texas, and dare I say I have not had one better since. If you are ever lucky enough to be in El Campo you must go here.

Everything was very good! I recommend the catfish supreme, it’s a huge filet of catfish fried in corn meal with a huge scoop of crawfish étouffée. Comes with rice pilaf, grilled vegetables and a salad. Awesome!

I’ve been going to Greeks for probably 20 years now and I am disappointed to say it’s continually gone downhill. We went tonight for a special occasion and were thoroughly disappointed. For starters, we had the most uncomfortable booth known to man. Like it was so miserable I wanted to leave immediately. The manager said, I know this is a bad booth, as soon as a better table opens up I will move yall. Well 2 hours and $ 179 later we never got moved. We had paid $ 20 cover to listen to the band but the booth was so uncomfortable we just left. The salads were really good and fresh. The other food was average, about the level of Applebee’s. I had grilled shrimp, my husband had steak, and two others had oysters. The steak was really thin. The grilled shrimp were okay. Our waiter disappeared for about 30 minutes while we were waiting on ideally ordering dessert and another round… But by the time he came back we just decided to cut our losses and cash out. Sadly disappointed in a once great place.

Over priced. They managed to make vegetables greasy.(Several previous experiences.) And I just discovered tonight that they water down the liquor. .a lot! Well at least the Patron was. Highly disappoint we paid so much for water and salt… –_– Music is hit & miss. Venue is cool/classy. I only keep going back because its the only decent bar in that town.

This is as good as you’re going to get in El Campo. I’ve been eating here since it opened and was a regular at Pier 59 in Wharton which was the Greek’s previous business. I’ve never had a bad meal and only once did I get bad service and I told management about it and that rude waitress is no longer there. If you get bad service people, especially when you’re paying premium pricing for your food… let someone know. My favorite is the steak tidbits… medium sirloin cut into thin slices and served on garlic bread with a tangy bbq sauce to add to it… comes with 8 fried or grilled shrimp and is just excellent. This isn’t an inexpensive meal but for me it covers my dinner and I have the left-overs for lunch the following day. In any case, the food is good enough to keep me from having to drive to Sugarland and that’s a huge plus. The atmosphere is small town old style combined with cantina… hey it works. With a decent menu you’ll find something that you want and if you don’t like it… for God’s sake tell someone. Check with them to see when their all you can eat crawfish night is… they’re seasoned just right and go down so good.

Our favorite place that doesn’t require us to drive in to Houston. The food is terrific — steaks are good, along with other favorites like Feta Chicken and Shrimp Cozumel. The Steak Tidbits appetizer is expensive but worth it, it’s one of our favorite treats. When you sit down, they bring you complimentary chips and salsa. Ask for a side of ranch with your chips because it is homemade and the best around! Their dinner rolls are also tasty! The cheesecake is my favorite dessert, but all of the desserts are good. Some nights it is very busy with more of a bar crowd if a famous entertainer is performing. They have a great atmosphere! Love Greek’s!

I have tried Greek Bros. on three separate occasions to try to give them the benefit of the doubt, but every time the food has been horrible. The wait staff was rude and the restaurant seems dirty. I went for my birthday and got a steak. The steak, though cooked medium-rare, was like shoe leather. My boyfriend wanted to send it back, but I didn’t want to cause a fuss. He finally convinced me. When the server asked if everything was good. I politely mentioned that my steak was super fatty and very tough. She said that was just how that cut of meat was. So, I gave up and just vowed not to go back.

I would rather get a flu shot. Rude people, rude service. overpriced food just in general a who cares attitude because they think since they are the most expensive place in town they can treat people and the food they serve with disrespect.

A friend told us about the wednesday night dollar per ounce ribeye special, comes with rice pilaf or fries and a very nice salad. They rolled over a cart with a whole slab of ribeye, cut off however many ounces you requested(and weighed it), they rub it down with your choice of 3 different kinds of rub, we went with the house blend, it was the best steak I’ve eaten that I didn’t cook myself, yum… yum! Thanks for the info greg b. Check out the picture I posted, it’ll make you hungry!

— is not quite a Greek Tragedy but this place is a little full of itself. I only give it 4 stars because of the kindness of the wait and bar staff. Megan was delightfully sweet and made good suggestions, mostly for this slightly above average place. The prices are out of line with the location and the quality. Worse — you may get there at a time that they«live music»? Last Saturday night was the«TALENT show» and while one in three people were talented that’s still a lot of music from the other 2/3’s of the people that each had 3 chances(songs) to demonstrate to me and you that they should not be on that side of the stage. Update: Most of us know we should consume and not produce music or act… but back to the food. As for the food — Don’t get too far off of the reservation here — Greek Brothers has lots of great sounding dishes but like the talent search — you will see that the kitchen obliterates«their version» of certain«fancy dishes». It you want fried shrimp, oysters or fish — «go for it» but the seafood is pricey for Wharton County. The same goes for steak and other well known dishes. The salads were good enough for a carnivore but the fancy shrimp dish of and mushroom dish aka — Shrimp Palmetto(means little palm — more like sweaty palms) was akin to Chung King(canned quality) Chinese. Warning like the music — 2/3’s of the original Greek Brothers recipes were well not from professionals. BTW — I did not see anything Greek on the menu, except perhaps a salad. Cheers, Glenn,

I hit up Greek Bros. about once a month — love the creamy jalapeño dressing, cucumber salad, and deluxe catfish(grilled) — plus, you can’t go wrong with Friday Night Karaōke and cold Lone Star Beer — Great place that I highly recommend!
