I’ve never had eyelash extensions done before prior meeting Kathy. There aren’t very many salons or eyelash people in my area that were reasonably priced, but luckily for me, Kathy is such a blessing!
My very first visit was sometime in October of last year, and I’ve been coming back to her ever since – which says a lot, because seldom do I ever pick «THE» go-​to person for anything related to a beauty service. I have to really like what they do before turning into a repeat customer. Every woman has her own trusty hairstylist, manicurist, masseuse, etc… well, Kathy is MY trusty eyelash lady!
My very first time got me hooked – the lashes were gorgeous and framed my eyes so well that they stand out – and as someone with rather small, Asiatic eyes, this is quite a feat!
Kathy’s place is located inside the Curves facility on San Pablo Ave. I’ve scheduled appointments during early afternoons and late evenings, and noticed that there is plenty of street parking. There is also a small parking lot at the back of the building.
Kathy has a very gentle and soothing approach to applying the extensions. It may seem scary if this is your first time, but definitely try to relax – you’re in good hands, and Kathy is gentler than a feather on a cloud. It is definitely unsettling to think about your lashes being individually maintained by someone who is so close to your face, but after a while, it strangely becomes such a serene experience. Most of the time I end up sleeping because it’s so calming. I think I may have snored once or twice. And that’s what you want – an eyelash service that is so therapeutic that you don’t even feel vulnerable but instead comfortable enough to snooze right there.
Normally us Asian women have little to no eyelashes, and I absolutely hate the feeling of wearing mascara or falsies. With Kathy’s extensions, I never feel them there – the day after putting them in, I’m already used to having them resting on my natural lashes and have received many compliments. They don’t have that uniformly thick/​plasticky type of look that most falsies give – instead, they look incredibly natural and really make one’s eyes stand out tremendously.
I think what’s most impressive about Kathy’s work is that her lashes have extended longevity. Kathy uses a very specific type of lash that stays on for weeks. I was on vacation overseas for a month and had my lashes done a few days before I left. They stayed on for so long that I was hesitant to book a refill! I believe that with good maintenance (cleaning off makeup before bed and carefully washing) and Kathy’s hard work on installing them kept them on for so long, despite the fact that most lashes last up to 3 weeks or less.
Kathy also does facial waxing – a service that I’ve had done by other salons, but none can compare to her artistry and painless precision. Which is important – I never felt pain or redness afterwards. Kathy shapes my brows to perfection, so much so that I don’t sprout a hair days afterwards. And unlike other salons, you don’t get that residual «oily» feeling nor do you ever come across random chunks of wax. Your skin feels smooth and clean minutes after she completes a wax.
She’s an absolute sweetheart and is very fair and her prices are reasonable. She has been so accommodating to schedule appointments. I’ve recommended friends and family to her and always look forward to my visits. Thank you Kathy!

I went back, and my stellar opinion of Kathy’s work still stands. Her work lasts a long time, she is careful, clean — and I never wear eye make-​up now. I’ve sent at least two friends and they think extensions from Kathy are better than from other practitioners.

Kathy was amazing! It was so relaxing I fell asleep at some point. I had purchased a groupon and thought I’d give it a try. I have had extensions done before but I felt comfortable with Kathy and she made sure my eyes didn’t burn!
I will definitely come back and I highly recommend!

I’ve been seeing Kathy for eyelash treatment for over a year and I have NEVER left her unsatisfied or incomplete. She does excellent work for VERY reasonable prices. I literally been seeing her every 2weeks for the past year and I have no complaints. I fall asleep every time due to how comfortable she makes the atmosphere. She’s quick, funny and extremely friendly. I just adore her.
I definitely suggest making an appointment with her in advance and keeping it as she gets very very busy due to her amazing prices and beautiful work. Even with her busy schedule she will always try to fit you in. She will come in early or stay late to satisfy your needs. Tell her what you want and she will do it every time.

I started going to Kathy when I got a Group on deal. OMG I’m totally lash whipped! I have had my lashes done before and have had them fall out in the first or second week and stick together. What sets her work apart from others is, my lashes look as good 3 weeks after I get them done!!! Hands down Kathy is the best at lashes. She was very meticulous and detail oriented with each lash. I don’t know what happened in Justine’s review but I know that Kathy’s work has been excellent every time! Everywhere I go people are asking me where I got my lashes done. When they hear how long the lashes last they are willing to travel. They look natural but dramatic that is a fine balance! She also is concerned about lash health and what works best for your lashes. Kathy is an artist and I am so happy that I found her. I can’t see going to anyone else getting the same quality of work. #lashwhipped

I purchased a Groupon for a full set of eyelashes + 2-​week refill after seeing the 5-​star reviews here on Unilocal,but was not impressed. I felt like my appointment was set up unprofessionally (she was at a doctor’s appointment when I called to make an appointment?), and there was no flexibility; the days and hours differed from what was stated on Unilocal and it was confusing. Making the follow-​up appointment itself was so inflexible. I don’t have a consistent work schedule, and so I asked her if it would be okay to make an appointment after I came back from a business trip (which would have been two days over two weeks from my first appointment), but she said that wasn’t acceptable.
In both the Groupon and appointment, there was no information about the material of the eyelashes, which was my fault for not asking beforehand. During the lash application, I think she might have messed up with the glue or maybe glued the lash on wrong? I’m not sure, but she was making tsking noises and that was freaking unsettling! In the end, the lashes turned out to be thicker and harder-​quality than in my past experience (in which I had a choice of different material lashes to choose from), and my eyes just hurt from blinking. I’m not sure if it was because of the glue or the lashes, but I’m guessing it was a little bit of both. The glue was globbed on — when I tried to comb my eyelashes, the teeth of my eyelash comb kept getting stuck between the bottom of the lashes and pull at my eyelid… even pulling some of the lashes out.
I wasn’t sure whether or not I was even comfortable with redeeming the follow up appointment, but decided to give it a second chance based on the Unilocal reviews and was going to base this review on the 2^nd appointment. It was an efficient appointment and not as uncomfortable during the application as my first appointment, but after inspecting the work in my car, I noticed that some of the lashes were running a little haywire — they weren’t going with the flow of my lashes, and there was one particular lash that was just totally… it was like «BOING!» away from the rest of the lashes, and I couldn’t adjust or comb it back into the right direction. I ended up having to pull a couple stray lashes that were just glued in the wrong direction, and I don’t really have any lashes to spare to pull out.
It was a toss-​up between 1 and 2 stars, but in the end, I’m basing 1 star on poor customer service and poor quality of work done based on my past experiences in eyelash extensioning.

I love Kathy! She is such a sweetheart and did an amazing job on my lashes. I used to go to Walnut Creek to get lashes and spend about twice the price. Kathy is totally affordable and definitely work the price.
Kathy has a cute little spot on San Pablo in the CURVES gym. Her room is nice and cozy, you can just lie down and take a nap and wake up looking fabulous. I would recommend her to anyone in a heartbeat.

I love my lash extensions! Kathy does an amazing job! I’ve had my lashes done at other locations, but I was never satisfied with the end results. They would fall off within days or look too heavy on my eyes. Kathy makes sure that the lengths of the lashes are appropriate for my eye size/​shape and I appreciate that so much. I’m so happy I had the chance to work with Kathy! She’s great at what she does and very professional!

I have been getting eyelash extensions for nearly 2 years now and I will only go to Kathy. She is meticulous and thorough while also getting you in and out of the office really fast. It is easy appointment with her, (even on the same day!) and she always goes out of her way to make you feel special and pampered.

I honestly wish I could give Kathy 10 stars and 10 new customers a week.
I found Kathy a little over a year ago. I had a horrible eyelash job that caused me to be bald lashed. Kathy worked her magic and for the life of me I do not know how she transformed a hideous mess of my barely having eyelashes into sheer beauty increasing my confidence. Now NO ONE but Kathy touches my eyelashes and she does a slam dunk job EVERYTIME and I always get a good nap in too!
ps…My natural eyelashes grew back as well.

Kathy has been doing my lashes for about two years now. They are beautiful! I get so many compliments. I would follow Kathy anywhere! If you want the best lashes or waxing Kathy is your girl! You will not be disappointed. Love her!

Kathy has been doing my eyelash extensions for over a year and a half and trust me — you will NOT find anyone better at it! I go 4 – 5 weeks without getting fills — not even comparable to anywhere in the Bay Areas. Beside the fact that Kathy is one of the warmest, sweetest people ever. I literally fall asleep each time I visit because it is so relaxing. If anyone has considered lash extensions and not done it — you can not go wrong getting them from Kathy. Can’t say enough good things about it!!!
