Gregg’s Pool Works

I have no idea how these guys have 4.5 stars, must be friends and affiliates of the business making reviews. My pool looks terrible right now, so why am I paying them $ 100 per month?! I have politely called to inform their customer service of the issues, but have seen no improvement. Avoid!

As first time homeowners, my husband and I did not know the first thing about maintaining and operating our pool. When we heard about Gregg’s «pool school» option, we called them right away. Phil came out and taught us everything we needed to know about having a pool. He was so thorough with all of his explanations and was willing to answer and and all questions we had. He was AWESOME! I would definitely recommend Gregg’s Pool Works if you are needing help with your pool!

Emailed this business to get a quote and was told they were booked till mid June for a diagnostic and another few weeks from that for a repair. I was told… «I would suggest that you find someone else maybe in your area.» Thanks but with that attitude I prefer to use another company… apparently too busy to help a potential customer out.

I drive the 7 miles to Gregg’s pool store instead of the one ½ mile from my house. Not sure I need to say more, but Unilocal wants me to keep writing – Gregg and his guys are very knowledgeable and helpful; my issue gets solved the first time I visit. Their knowledge and helpfulness extend to their servicing business as well – they have diagnosed things that many other pool companies had failed to fix prior.

Excellent service department with exceptional customer service. I had my pool pump replaced, the technician was on time and went above and beyond answering all of my questions.

I’ve been using Gregg’s since we moved here in 2014. I’ll have to admit that things haven’t been absolute perfection, but any issues I’ve ever had with the pool have been resolved quickly. My agent recommended Gregg’s Pool Works when we first moved in. I met Gregg shortly after that and I could tell he really knew our pool and understood exactly what needed to be done to maintain it. He doesn’t do the weekly service himself, but his techs have been great, except for the one who sucked and they got rid of. Any issues that arose because of the neglect of that bad tech were dealt with promptly and at no additional cost to me. Not that anything substantially wrong happened, it just wasn’t up to the standards I had come to expect from them. They recognized the issues and took care of them. Alicia is so on top of things. Any time I call or email her with an issue or question, she gets right back to me. Their team is very knowledgeable and friendly. I couldn’t be happier with Gregg’s and I’d highly recommend them if you’re looking for a pool service.

After having a negative experience at another Green mountain grill dealer in Placerville. I was recommended to go visit Gregs pool works. Alicia is very familiar with GMG Grills. She made my purchase seamless. Great service too would recommend this company. She did give me a better price than that country place too

I recently bought a new house, was new to the area, and made the mistake of hiring another pool company to fix some broken pool equipment. It was a DISASTER. After months of frustration and thousands of dollars I called Gregg’s. What a difference! Gregg and his team were professional, extremely competent, delivered exactly what they promised, and charged a fair price. What more could you ask for? Gregg even helped take the time to document what the previous pool company had not delivered properly so I could dispute some of the charges. They clearly take great pride in their work and are great ambassadors for their industry!
I would highly recommend Gregg’s Pool Works. They will be the first and only pool company I call from here on out.

I can highly recommend Gregg’s Pool Works. His company did an awesome job building our pool in our brand new back yard. The work site was always very clean, and the end product was a very high quality. Gregg, the owner, was in constant contact with us to keep us informed on time choices etc. We especially liked working with Dirk, who also had to manage our landscaper and keeping everybody in check.

I have used Gregg’s pool works going on about a year and half. I have tried 5 other pool service and supply places and I have to say none of them compare to Gregg’s. The store location is in El Dorado Hills and I lived in Folsom. Sold my house now I live in Sac town with no pool :(but looking to get back to a pool soon. Their service guys were great the chemicals were always perfect. Also, if I had family coming in to visit or major holiday a party coming up I called a week ahead of time and they would make sure to take care of me before the big event.
Its a family owned business not some big chain and the entire staff is super nice at the store. They know their stuff, always great information and great people. They educated me on pool and spa ownership, how to keep the spa smell away, best equipment, where I can save money and where I shouldn’t skimp. How many businesses nowadays tell u how to save money? ONE, this place. Anyway, if u have a pool or spa need equipment, or just want the service, this is the place. I use to do my own but what a hassle, almost went back to doing my own until I found Gregg’s. Awesome place I highly recommend them.

I highly recommend Greggs! We had been going to other pool stores, yet weren’t getting results with our pool. We tried Greggs and they were able to pinpoint what we needed and our pool is blue again :-) Last year we invested in a new pump, our bill went down $ 100 a month! Best prices and service.

Terrible service we call them make an appointment they never show or call when we call they apologize and schedule us again, we decide give them a chance. Well they came measure the pool and ask us exactly what we want, they told us to wait for and estimate a couple days we call twice they apologize and ask us for another week to get the estimate. It’s being a month and a haft no show no call no email nothing, I guess they don’t care about their service terrible and a lost of our time.

Gregg and his team have always been very helpful and friendly. They even fixed my pool sweeper on the same day! When I purchased my house 2 years ago and Gregg came over to give me an estimate on service, turns out that he himself had put the pool in when at a previous company. He was very familiar with the system and had some good recommendations for weekly care — explaining the basics and what I could add on if I wanted to the basic service. For some of those ‘extras’, if I didn’t want to add that to my service right away, he explained what I would need to do in the meantime; no pressure. Thanks Gregg and team!

As a new pool owner, Gregg came out to my house for an initial consultation a little more than two years ago. He provided me with guidance on where I can be more efficient (moving to a variable speed pump cut my PGE bill by $ 150 per month), and gave me guidance on how I could use his services. When I have had a problem with my pool’s mechanics he has always sent someone out to troubleshoot and fix. I would highly recommend Gregg for any pool owner in EDH or the surrounding cities.

It is always a pleasure to do business with Greggs Pools. The staff is always welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly. The store is well stocked with the products I need. They are very accommodating by stocking specialty products when I asked if they could order.
Their water testing is great in that it saves me time and money when they can tell me exactly how much and which chemicals to use. They know pools and spas !!!

We have always taken care of our own pool with no problems and have bought our chemicals at Gregg’s for the past few months due to their location. A recent wildfire in our neighborhood mixed up the chemical balance of our pool and it turned green overnight. The counter person knew exactly what damage fire retardants can do to the pool and after evaluating a sample of our water, they told us exactly what we needed. The next day our pool was sparkling clear again. What I appreciate most is that they knew exactly what do do, they didn’t sell us unnecessary chemicals, and they are very friendly. We have been to the chain pool store before and it’s usually trial and error, costing lots of money, because they don’t have the knowledge or expertise as the staff at Gregg’s. this is definitely our pool store now!
