Get there early, they close before they are suppose too! I traveled a good distance to get to this store, wanted to by my husband new boots for Christmas. The lady was helping another guest inside and had locked the doors 15 mins before closing time(at least). I knew exactly what I wanted, don’t think it would have taken me more than 15 mins to purchase it.

Came to this store to purchase my first pair of redwing boots. Had no idea about sizing and break in period and etc. the guy who helped me did not inform me about any of these. He gave me the same size i wear in my nikes. By the time my boots broke in and all the leather was stretched out, i had countless amounts of blisters. My 300 dollar boots are basically useless because it has way too much heel slip and the boots are just too big. Making them uncomfortable to work in. The boots itself is great quality, just the wrong size, i blame the worker who did nothing to inform me about this. The worker cost me 300 bucks. I will not be returning to this store ever again.

This part of El Monte is straight out of the 40’s, but run down. I like historical areas and believe it should be all preserved, until now. The area has seen better days and needs revitalization. If I were mayor, I’d bulldoze and rebuild. It’s not a knock, just my two cents. I like El Monte, it has a lot of potential. But off my soapbox and to my review… Went in there, thought no one was in. It was spooky quiet. The kind that makes you wonder, if I just took this shoe and that shoe out, would anyone know?! Perhaps its a trap, to see if I would. Hummm… A few moments in after looking at some shoes, I spotted the counter girl motionless, like a mannequin. I didn’t want to stare, so I peered out of the corner of my eye. She was still frozen, sitting in her chair. But I did notice her fingers were moving in front of her face. Was it a signal for help? Signing she was inflicted with a rare spider bite that has caused all of her muscles to stiffen? Or maybe she was zapped by an alien with a freeze gun, to be carried off with the rest of the neighborhood as dinner! Maybe, just maybe, it was a bad vaccination, a government conspiracy to keep this part of El Monte in the 40’s! As I strained to see, I began to notice her fingers were moving faster and faster. Wait a moment, she’s texting on her phone! Whew, I began to think the freeze gun had some validity to it. So I waited there a few more to see if she’d help, but she did even flinch. Hey, far be it from me to disturb her. It looked important, so I didn’t bother. As long as she didn’t need help, I wasn’t going to ask for any either! Thumbs down, felt like I was part of a twilight zone episode, can’t leave me alone in an empty store. I have an imagination you know.
