Sarasvati Music Academy

Both of my sons study music with Rakhima. My 7 year old plays piano and the 13 is focused on violin. They have been taking music classes for 3.5 years at Sarasvati Music Academy. There are many great musicians who cannot teach– especially children. Rakhima, however, is truly gifted working with them. She has an incredible ability to break down how to read notes, and play them properly [hand positions etc]. She is patient but firm. My 7 year old started with her when he was 4 — after a brief time at another academy. But, the teacher there, while a great pianist, could not «break it down for children.» My 13 year old began violin with Rakhima, when he was 10. It’s amazing to hear him play now. One thing parents should know — there are no miracles with the lessons — students MUST practice [a reasonable amount of time] and sometimes it will be challenging. Both boys look forward to adding new instruments when the time is right. Rakhima and the Sarasvati Music Academy are top notch.
