Smart & Final

I don’t know if smart & final are «francised», but poor service for not fixing another smart & final location’s of over charge of an item. Since I am making this review, I want to add this location frequently over charge a buck here and there. making it kind of defeating the purpose of going back for price adjustments with gas cost in consideration.

The service here is good the workers are always willing to help of you need it and you usually get a friendly hello an a nice smile at the countwr. Other then that its your typical store uou go in purchase what you need and then head on out lol

It looks small but it’s pretty good sized inside. You’ll find all the stuff you would find at other Smart & Finals. My only caveat is that parking here is horrible since there are 2 other stores that are also quite popular.

Parking here sucks so bad.
5 star because the service was excellent. I made a purchase hoping to activate a promo I had but it did not work. They let me return my purchase to repurchase it so I could use my promotion. Cannot beat that service!

This store is very clean and has everything organized. The reason I took 1 star off was cause I have found rotten bread on the shelf and rotten meat in the fridge. (Once for each)
99 cents store (in the same shopping center) HAS BETTER PRODUCE FOR 99 cents.
Canned foods are cheaper there too. Chips and utensils are cheaper as well.
The prices are very competitive with target and sams club. I like the fast service you get here and the availability of items.
They have a wide selection of wines and alcohol considering they are not a beverage store.
The poultry department is a decent size and they have all types of meats in stock.
They also have many cheeses and platters in stock.
The new produce area is awesome. Although the prices are slightly higher then other places the convenience is priceless.
I will definitely continue to shop here for all my bbq needs and will also come back for groceries.

So its pretty expensive… BUT THE EMPLOYEES THERE ON MONDAY WERE ON PAR WITH ABERCROMBIE AND FITCH WORKERS. In particular, one worker (who was super fine btw) actually walked around the entire store looking for apple cider vinegar for me even though he didnt know what it was. SUPER FAB.

This is a good store, but be careful the city of «El Monte» will impound your car with the help of Alberts towing which is working with the city, some thing that is very illegal in California! That’s why I ask smart& final corporate to take action to this matter. I will ask the residents of El Monte not to shop in this shopping center on till the matter is fixed!!!

I went there this weekend, Sunday morning to be exact, to buy a couple things for the BBQ we were going to have at the park. Honestly, the store is clean, but its to quiet and dimly lit. Also their selection of dog food is only for big dogs, no puppies. Also 1 line open for multiple customers… NO BUENO… Overall it was Meh…

Always have special going on and is a very clean place! If Costco is too far away, this is the place for you with almost the same prices!

When I can’t get to Costco this is a decent alternative. There are plenty of bulk items available, plus lots of variety I can’t get elsewhere. The fruits and veggies are always fresh. Plus, I appreciate that there are more than a couple different kinds of bread.

Cleanest S&F I’ve been to… and it’s in EL MONTE!!! Wow…
Of course it’s pricey for the foods but the food is fresh and it’s really clean! I’m shocked at how clean it is.
This is just good for quick items you may need. Don’t come here for wholesale or a lot of stuff… It’s pricey. :P
Came here because it’s close to the fiancé. So we had to just get some hot sauce and chicken wings.
Overall… I just couldn’t stop staring at how clean and organized it was.

To Whom it May Concern,
Today October 28,2011 I visited your Murrieta location. I was simply appalled when I walked to the back of the store. It was full of pallets, plastic raping all over the floor, and employees screwing off using profanity (the F%&* word etc). While walking through your store I couldn’t get through many of the isles, because your floor was covered with shipping material causing me to slip, and hit a pallet. What if this had of been a child or a elderly person! If I were in a wheelchair there is NO way in the world I could of gotten through your store with ease. I’m a mobile adult and had trouble, became so frustrated that I just gave up bought 10% of what I needed and took my business someplace else. What should of taken 15 minutes to do took me 30 because of the mess throughout the store and the many safety hazards including blocked fire exits which local fire authority and osha have been made aware of.
I tried and speak with Jeff the Store Manager, he basically looked through me with his red blood shot eyes and could of cared less of what I had to say. To be honest he looked and acted like he had been smoking pot. Didn’t even ask if I was ok when I told him I slipped in his store! He said there was nothing he could do about it, he was talking to Phil his DM.
too was not set up, or said to call someone else, when she transferred me to that someone else their voicemail wasn’t set up, this went on for over 30 minuets!!!
One time I was transferred to Monica in Benefits, she was horrible. I tried to say I’m sorry if I’m not in the right area and tried to explain to her what was happening to the poor girl who was answering the phone, she could of cared less and said o all you want to do is complain, I don’t want to hear you, maybe you should shut up and move on!!! Are you kidding me!!! If your employees feel this behavior is ok they really need to be retrained. She is not the only one that has behaved in this fashion. I was treat the same way in the store by the store manager Jeff like I said above. Which I also observed him with a new hire and a regular employee who he was way to flirty with and honestly it looked rather like he was playing slap ass with the girls can you say «sexual harassment» The young men who were cursing probably think their behavior was ok because the store manager didn’t show much of an example to be honest.
I would like to have someone call me and email me for a follow up in the mean time I will be contacting other local authorities to investigate my experience. There are many news media, and blog area’s now a days that people do read and I will not be shut down nor pushed aside like your management has tried to do.
I called your main corp. let me tell you if I was your poor lady who was filling in for the normal girl who answers the phones, I would of walked off the job. Every voicemail she transferred me

I usually shop here because is close to me and I avoid the driving my trip here is mainly for water and milk but a visit ago while being in a hurry I did not check the expiration date on the milk it was expired 1 week .I didn’t make a big deal it happens I guess But the second Visit (this time I checked the date) most if not all were expired I had to get a different brand long story short I always buy milk here and every time I tell the cashiers about the expire milk they never do anything about it! I am tired of getting spoiled milk every time I have to check and look around for a decent date most of them expire with in a day or 2. Is this so hard to do?

smart & final is a convenient store to pick things up in bulk if youre in a rush. i live down the street and stop by for simple necessities when im short on time. the only drawback about this place is that sometimes it gets real packed, and they dont open up new check out lines. stretching lines 5 – 6 guests back.
my suggestion is to drive that extra 2 – 3 miles, pay for a membership and shop at sams club. but if youre short on time, this will do i guess.

I usually only come here for their beers but they do have a wide range of candy which I always look but no buy. They have a great frozen section but prices aren’t the best. Beer here only for me.

A new addition in the area after the construction of the under pass of the railroad tracks. Access to this business would be a huge challenge before. Getting to the parking lot is very simple, getting around this lot and finding a space is the hard part. The way they drew the lines for the spaces, I just don’t know what they were thinking at all.
As soon as I found a space I can park in, I finally made it into this place. I should have gone there a lot earlier. Like first thing it opened because every freaking family is here. Probably for the last minute SuperBowl shopping too. I went to the cold section to see if they had ice. Definitely not over here. Gave me a chance to jack someone’s empty cart though. I walked down the middle aisle and still don’t see a freezer/​fridge that would carry ice. I looked down to where the cashiers were and figured, it must be up at the front.
When I thought about it, I’m going to have to load up my own ice. It’s like the traffic in the parking lot trying to get to the front where the ice box was. Most of it was gone and what was there was jammed in there. If I didn’t care about my hand, I was going to break free a few wedged bags of ice. I was told by my best friend it would be cheaper here than going to the ice place or getting ice at the supermarket. I bought 80 lbs of ice for $ 15, awesome. Now I have to wait in line to pay for it. Wish I brought the Smart & Finals card. Don’t know if I would have received a discount or something.
I put the bags of ice in the car and pushed the cart back to the front since no one does that these days. People are way too lazy these days and just leave carts in the next space or grass area. That’s how I get these stupid scratches on my car, right? Don’t let me catch you doing that, you’d be an easy target.
By the way, here’s a note for that douche-​bag in that light blue Mustang that invented your own parking. Take driving lessons besides learning how to park.
