I finally tried this place after driving by for the past year and reading all the Unilocal reviews. I’m glad I did… the food was great and the prices are reasonable too. We had the shrimp, ceviche, and campechana tostadas. We also had a fish taco and a shrimp empanada. I’d definitely return to get the same things and/or try other menu items.

Their beef tacos were okay, but this place’s highlight is really the fish tacos and all the great salsas and sides. I got the shrimp tacos for my son and before I knew it, the plate was empty… so, obviously good. We got the carne asada fries and like I said, the meat’s alright. But I like that the fries are med-thick fries. I prefer them personally, to shoestring fries. No beans or crema/sour cream like other places, but they have great salsas, so didn’t miss them too much.

This is now my go-to taco place ! I’ve gone about 6 times now and they’ve always been consistent. I’ve only done togo but food and service has been good. The inside is clean but restrooms could be kept cleaner. Cashiers always welcome you with a smile and for Togo, they’re pretty fast. In addition, the prices are really good. They’re located in a small plaza across the street from Sam’s club, on the corner of Santa Anita & Lower Asuza. Parking can be a bit difficult around lunch time but frees up pretty quickly. I’ve ordered: Carne asada fries: fries are always crispy, and they layer cheese in between the fries to make sure every bite has cheese. They also top it with some queso fresco. The Carne asada is yummy and never in tiny burnt pieces, and they top it with guacamole. Fish tacos: the fried fish tacos are so yummy. Unlike some places, the fish isn’t a tiny piece that’s over battered. Even for Togo, I always enjoy the fish crispy.(Also fish tacos are $ 1.25 on Sundays) Beef cheek tacos: very juicy and tender. The beef cheeks come shredded. Chicken taquitos(rolled tacos): one of the best taquitos I’ve had! Nice crispy outside without tasting too greasy and the shredded chicken is still moist. They don’t over drench it in sour cream and I like how they top it with queso fresco. What’s also pretty awesome is that they have a station to get your own condiments like salsa verde, salsa rojo, the spicy guacamole sauce, pickeled red onions, peppers with pickeled carrots, and cucumbers. They also have a grilled whole peppers too. They refill this station constantly so they’re never short. I would totally recommend this place if you haven’t tried it yet!

Best Fish Tacos in the area for sure(of course after fish tacos in Ensenada, Mexico. Nevertheless, this is the only place in SoCal I buy my fish tacos from, so definitely try them if you’re in the area.

Awesome place for tacos of all types made to order. Curbed my loyalty to King Taco for a minute and tried this place here and was not disappointed. Open salsa bar with pickled sides and salsas that are all unlimited. The tacos here are pretty hefty, none of that Rubio’s bull. While it may be a hole in the wall joint, the quality sure doesn’t disappoint. PROTIP: This place has rotating specials for every day of the week, so be sure to check whats posted or ask for huge savings.

I came in for some asada and pastor tacos, they were barely close to average to my opinion. The asada meat was already cooked, by the time I finished paying and got my horchata(which was pretty good) my tacos were already waiting for me at the bar. Tortillas, not good. I would come back to try their fish tacos and other seafood items since apparently that seems to be more of their specialty. Salsa bar and salsas were on point, the green one was my favorite. The place looked clean and their was a girl cleaning the windows inside and the restroom had just been mopped. So it looks like cleanliness is priority to them.

When I used to live in El Monte, this place was right down the street from my house and would be the place to go for their fish tacos! My family has been going to this place for years and the quality has never disappointed us! They get especially busy on Sundays when they have their fish taco special. So be prepared to wait a while, it’s so worth it though. Their rice and beans are pretty good too and so are their spicy pork tortas! They also have a little salsa bar filled with different salsas, cucumbers, limes and on the counter they have some cooked peppers that are really good too.

On point $ 1.25 fish tacos Wednesday and Sunday. This place is a popular joint for locals, as evidenced by the huge crowds of families that will come and take up half the place. I don’t remember what used to be here, but it’s in the same plaza as the long-standing and many-ownered Mr. Chopsticks. Fish tacos — great, fresh, and they’re constantly making them so nothing has been sitting back there for hours. Lengua — I’ve had better dressing/sauce, the texture was so-so on these. Give or take. Shrimp — Flavorful, fresh, not mushy. Carne asada fries — ehhhh I’ve honestly had better. Maybe because we got them take out? Definitely get the salsas and the roasted peppers hiding behind them!

i love coming to this place on a sunday. honestly, what other taco places has taco deals on a sunday??? they did recently raise their price from 99 cents to 1.25 a taco. still not a bad deal. the place is usually packed during dinner time. and the food kinda takes a while to get, but for cheap tacos i ain’t complaining. keep in mind, not all tacos are on sale. i found that the lengua tacos were still regular price @ 2.25 whereas the fish tacos were only 1.25 on sundays. salsa bar has avocado sauce, mild and spicy. it also has radish, onions and salty peppers.

This has become the go to place when we crave for tacos — lengua and cabeza tacos to be specific. I love the tenderness of lengua(tongue) and cabeza(head) and how you can really appreciate them without much(or any at all) seasoning. I love the tacos here because they are reasonably priced at ~$ 2(with many good daily special deals) and they are generously portioned and topped with chopped onions and cilantro. Add a bit of the three different sauces they have at the self serve counter and you can get a really fiery, flavorful, and refreshing bite. Their burrito priced only at ~$ 5 is fresh and packed with meat! We usually get the cabeza burrito which is filled with meat, beans, and rice. The food comes out pretty fast and is always really hot and tasty! With tasty food, fast service, and easy parking, this will continue be the go to until we discover another good taco joint in the neighborhood.

I believe my friend took me here about 10 years ago when I didn’t even know what fish tacos were. I think it was the same owner. Okay, fast forward 10 years. I was cravings for some tacos before I headed to the in law for dinner. We had two hours before dinner time and decided to pick up a fish taco since it was $ 1.25 for fish taco on Wednesday. Their fish tacos is so good. I love that they only use one corn tortilla but the fish was so long they had to use two corn tortilla. I hate when they are stacked together and I end up throwing the other piece away. The lesser the carbs the better. The fish was fried to perfection with cabbage, cream sauce, and pico de gallo. My favorite was their sauce bar. I like my fish taco with hot sauce and their avocado sauce. I love AVOCADO. YUM. Also, it was one big piece of fish. Not bad for the price. Regular price is $ 1.99. The fish tacos special is on Sunday and Wednesday. They actually have different deals on their menu every single day. Service was fast and quick on a busy night.

its alright. i prefer taco nazo’s baja fish tacos to bufadora. It’s not as fluffy and crispy and at times the fish is downright soggy! however, i love that you can customize your tacos to have a lettuce shell than empty carb tortillas. they have the biggest salsa bar with grilled peppers, chilis, pickled cucumber as well as salsas and limes. also potato taco here is a plain mashed mess and nazo potato taco is superior. The tacos are huge. a fish taco is almost as big as a filet-o-fish. I say two or three fish tacos(@$ 1 something a piece on weds and sun) is a decent meal portion.

Taco La Bufadora is a small fast food restaurant on the corner of Lower Azusa and Santa Anita. At this busy intersection, it can get pretty tricky to enter the plaza during rush hour because traffic gets really bad. None the less, I still venture here when I am craving some fish tacos. They have daily specials ranging from tacos to menudo, but the ones that they are most famous for is their fish tacos on Wednesday and Sunday for only $ 1.00. That is a steal for some delicious fish tacos. The whole fish taco craze started when Taco Nazo blew up. Yeah. I’ve tried it but I don’t believe that is is as good as this place. I believe what makes a good fish taco is how fresh it is. As soon as it is done frying, it should be serve to the customer ASAP. Since this place gets so busy on those days, all their tacos come out fresh and piping hot! The batter pairs perfectly with their fish and it is topped with diced cabbage, onions, and CREAMA! mmmmMMMM so good. For only a buck, you get a pretty decent sized fish taco. Order three and you will be a happy. One thing that many people missed is their grilled peppers that they have in a buffet chafing server right next to the salsa bar. Seating can be pretty tough since it does it pretty packed so get someone to save your seat before while you order. Remember these tacos need to be eaten fresh! So what ever you do. DONOTORDERTOGO. Overall. Even though it’s not their specialty, this place pumps out some great fresh fish tacos. I can’t say much about the other stuff but I would definitely give it a shot.

Not as great as I expected. Despite having many customers and good reviews, I found the food to be only average. I tried the fish taco, chicken quesadilla, and California burrito. The last fish taco I had was at Rubio’s, and this one did not compare. The only option was corn tortillas for fish tacos and the fish was not as crunchy or fresh tasting as Rubio’s. The fish was soft and slightly smushy on the inside. The California burrito was pretty bland; I expected it to have much more taste like past ones I’ve had from places like Alberto’s(which are a lot better). The chicken quesadilla was average. The dishes at the salsa bar did not look very fresh. On the plus side, I did think the prices at this place were pretty reasonable and I like how they have a different special for every day of the week. It looked like the place had decent business. Despite this, I probably will not be coming back again.

Not a bad place for Mexican food. They have daily specials Mon-Fri. I came on a Sat, so no specials. Got their Carne Asada fries. Didn’t have tomatoes or onions… which sucked. But it was still good. The avocado came in a separate container. Fries were bigger than what I’m used to having. Portions were not super huge, but enough to fill you.

Dude, gimmie some fish tacos. I like em daily steals. Price: Typical. I don’t remember exact prices, but I’m guessing about $ 2.50ish/taco. They have daily deals which make it a steal. When I went it was BOGO shrimp tostada. I spent like $ 5 for a super filling meal. Parking: LOT Service: Pretty chill. Order & pay at the register before getting situated. They’re friendly Food: Pretty tasty, but not amazing. Notes: I love how this place is clean & pretty authentic. Overall: If I wanted tacos and were in the area, I’d come back.

Isn’t it weird how we pass by so many places and don’t realize what tasty goodness is out there? Well, I was hungry and decided to see what I could find nearby. What did Unilocal find for me? Tacos La Bufadora! Yep! I saw fish tacos and I was like ‘I’m sold!’ So, I carefully planned what I was going to eat by eating everything possible. FOOD — 4 Stars: I got a plethora of goodness: — Chicken Enchilada: This was so freaking delicious! The chicken was shredded, packed with flavor, covered in red sauce, and piled high with fresh veggies. Definitely something that I would get again. I’m super picky with my enchilada’s and this place delivers on the tastiness level! — Fish Taco: The fish taco was AMAZING! The fish was perfectly fried and golden brown on the outside while the inside was flakey. It was wrapped in a tortilla and had a fresh veggies on top with plenty of cream sauce! This will give some other places a run for their money. This is a must have if you come here. You won’t regret it! — Potato Taco: I’m in love with potato so it was natural for me to order the potato tacos. This was pretty good though I was expecting more texture with the potato. I’m used to chunks of potato from other places, which is my preference. However, they have it as more of a purée or to where it’s liked mashed potatoes with definitely zero lumps. It had veggies and cheese on top, but I wanted more texture with the potato. It was still good though so don’t get me wrong. — Beef Taquitos: These were so delicious! You get three taquitos covered with cabbage, tomato, cream sauce, and plenty of cheese! So delicious! And yes, they also have chicken taquitos if that suits your fancy. ;) — Carne Asada Fries: I was excited to eat this because… it has potato! I can’t get enough of french fries so this was on my hit list. They give a generous portion of fries, plenty of carne asada, and two kinds of cheese. It was good, but I wasn’t feeling the carne asada. It was chopped finely and not as good as other places in the area. SERVICE — 5 Stars: The staff is very friendly and helpful if you have questions. For some reason, I always have questions and they were glad to give their input and recommendations. The food comes out pretty quickly as well. Great overall service! ATMOSPHERE — 5 Stars: This place is your basic hole in the wall, but very clean and with a lot of light that comes through because the location is situated at the end of complex with huge windows on the opposite side facing the street. It’s pretty relaxed with people eating, chatting, and watching Spanish television. RECOMMENDATION: This place is pretty awesome and if you’e in the area, you gotta stop by especially on the days when they have a special of your liking!

This is one of two places in the San Gabriel Valley I come to in order to get fish tacos. Environment — this place is not a «hole –in-the-wall», but an established restaurant. There are a fair amount of tables for you to choose from and a very good place for lunch, late lunch or even dinner. Service — cashiers are nice and the servers are nice. What can I say? Everyone is very courteous here and never had I once had a bad service from this restaurant. Food — I have only had fish tacos and their asada nachos. Fish Tacos — ALWAYS fresh. Ohmygosh. Every time I come here I get their fish tacos because they are seriously the best thing on the menu. They are made fresh to order! And their fishies are nicely sized as well. When you bite into it, they’re crunchy and fresh. I am drooling as I am typing this up. Asada Nachos — Although the lettuce on it might not be as fresh as it could be, it was a very good order over all. You can whether or not to have cheese on top, just ask them. Their asada was cooked nicely, cannot really complain about it. I usually cannot finish these by myself because after a few bites I just get tired of them… but totally share it with a friend if you can. COMEHEREONSUNDAYSANDWEDNESDAYS for fish tacos for only $ 1.19! I eat 3. Haha with a Large Horchata :)

My go to Mexican restaurant when I am in the mood for some Fish Tacos & more. They have daily specials & the prices isn’t bad for the quality of food. Not a fancy place but the food is pretty good. The fish tacos comes battered & deep fried. All dressed in a cabbage slaw. I’ve tried the carne Asada tacos but it’s mediocre(King Taco IMO is better). Fish Ceviche is good & the shrimp cocktail is good. I love the fried & seasoned banana peepers! It’s kept warm in a chafing dish next to the salsa & condiments. Fountain drinks are self served. I haven’t tried everything on the menu yet… Eventually I will… LOL! Food is fresh, prices are good, portions are ample. They do get busy so expect a line. I’ve always gotten my food Togo because seating is limited. Just make sure check to your order before leaving. They’ve short changed me on my tacos before. Other than that, give this place a try.
