It was my first time visiting and I had a GREAT experience. I walked in and I was welcomed in with a «hello» from both Larry and Bill. Larry was my barber and he was very professional and a jokester. He asked me what I wanted as everyone else does but he delivered. The cut that I got is spot on to what I wanted and my wife who is the biggest critic of my hair cuts gave it her blessing and seal of approval. After many years of searching I have finally found the right place and I look forward to the next visit. For those of you looking for a new place to go, give them a try, I know you will be as satisfied as I am.

My(well-behaved) dog Shasharoosticus and I came by for a haircut(for me). There was no long line and my haircut was just as I liked. They had peanut butter pretzel snacks for Shasha(umm those were for the dog right?) and it was a pleasant experience. Don’t bring your dog if he/she is not well-behaved because they probably don’t generally allow such. Parking was not an issue either.

Great father and son team make for a very ‘folksy’ and pleasant experience. Both talented and personable. Great prices and talent.

Great cut at a reasonable price. Straight razor trim no extra cost. Someone was getting a facial when I was there, which is funny because otherwise it’s a straight up old style barber shop, rock-ribbed Reagan Republican and all. Unilocal didn’t steer me wrong on this one, and they made a point of treating visitors just like locals.

Excellent place, very traditional. Got my hair cut by Mr. Baldwin senior, he did a great job!

After reading all these Unilocal reviews, today was my first time visiting this place. Larry did an outstanding job on my Don Draper(Mad Men) hair style. All I told him was that I wanted to just clean up my sides and whatever else he needed to get the style just right. I must admit that I was a little worried when he, without warning, took his scissors out and took off about THREEINCHESOFFTHETOP!!! But he sure knew what he was doing because that’s exactly what I needed to finally pull off the style! I had been blindly trusting different stylists over the past year or so, who insisted that I keep the top long… I highly recommend the head massage($ 8 cash only) every visit and call ahead to schedule your cut. I believe the $ 12(cash only) price is a bargain for the quality of service they’ve been providing El Paso for over 70 years! Can’t wait to go back.

Great place to go. The father and son duo were exceptional and above reproach. This was actually my first barber shop I have gone to in El Paso and I wasn’t left disappointed either. Price was reasonable and I highly recommend to anyone to check out this quaint place.

Great service. Totally worth the extra money over the Fort Bliss PX. I will be a repeat customer.

I can’t believe this place existed and I didn’t know about it! Finally a place to get man-pampered! It’s definitely old fashioned, a bit pricey sure, but the service you get is amazing. Larry and Billy are a father and son team that give you a reminder of what getting a haircut used to be. And the free scalp massage really hit the spot.

Great old school shop — nice job cutting with scissors. Great price at $ 12 and a good massage for free on your first visit. Feels like a trip into another slower time. My grandpa would love this place.

Super friendly father(Larry) and son(Billy) pretty good haircut for $ 12(cash only) and a free first scalp massage with some old school awesome hand vibrators lol for lack of a better term. Seriously things look like they were made in the 60s, but it was a relaxing massage. One of the customers in there had been getting his haircut with them for the last 50 years! Billy also does an old school shoe shine right there or you can drop them off. The only 5 star barber I have ever been to and I get a haircut 2 – 3 times a month is gentleman’s republic but it can get pricey at $ 28 a haircut(though you get a free alcoholic drink, massage and shampoo) I can’t stand to get a haircut mid-day and have to go back to work with all the loose cut hair still on my head.(Yes they Baldwins vacuum you off but it will never get it out like a wash) All in all I will probably bounce between Baldwin’s, hot cuts and republics(though they are moving further away onto mesa in june)

I’ve been looking for a good barber shop for a while now, so when I came across this place I was ecstatic. Took my 3 yr old son with me and if course he threw a temper tantrum but the gentleman was nothing but helpful and was able to cut his hair. When it came to me I got the straight edge trimming that you don’t get anywhere else. The only reason I don’t give them a 5 star is because they don’t take credit cards but besides that, this is the best place I found my barber shop!

Baldwin’s barbershop is the best I have found in El Paso! I get my hair cut and a shave there every other week. Baldwins is what barbershop should be. Traditional barber services such as a shave, head massage, and facial are all available. You can even drop off your shoes to be shined. As mentioned in other reviews every first time customer receives the head massage which is worth the visit by itself. All of my friends who I have gotten a hair cut there love it!

I just moved to El Paso and was just looking for a haircut anywhere downtown. What I got was a good, fast haircut from the owner, Larry, complete with a scalp massage(all new customers get«The Rub») that I think is worth a trip to Baldwin’s all by itself. And they accept personal checks, which was nice. I’ll be back in a month for another haircut, and maybe another Rub.
