My family has gotten our cakes from here for the last 20+ years for birthdays, etc. and I will say that until recently have ALWAYS been great. However I was completely disappointed in the outcome of my husbands 30th birthday cake. It was the ugliest work I’ve EVER seen and only wish I had gone somewhere else to have his cake made, after all it was a milestone birthday. I live in Austin so I called ahead to make arrangements and send detailed photos to make sure they could create exactly what I was asking for. They said they could do it, and I trusted that they would deliver since we have never had an issue with them before. Since it was a surprise birthday party I had my mother pick up the cake for me to meet me at the event with it and asked her to take a photo and send it to me, only to find that it was hideous. With only a short time before the event, there wasn’t any time for adjustments or to have anything else made so I had to settle, but I will say that I will NEVER go back to give them business and neither will my family. It was a huge embarrassment and disappointment. (Photos shown.)

Ok tried them out yesterday. Wow my diet is shot. Just wanted to get my daughter a cookie and ended up getting some for us… don’t ask me the names lol. A swirly cookie made of pastry dough omg so yum. And a Cresent shaped shortbread with powdered sugar, so buttery! Now we as a country have gotten used to prepackaged cookies that are overly sweet and filled with preservatives. So to get a fresh cookie that tastes of its ingredients with out the saccrine sweet nausea inducing additions of prepackaged food is a real treat. One I’m lucky to share with my children. And yes I COULD bake but… I don’t wanna lol.

Alright so this is going to be the review for all the people that strictly go somewhere for the food and not for the background. Honestly, this place is one of those hidden gems that you absolutely need to try. The donuts amazing, cinnamon rolls amazing, danishes are amazing, apple fritters are amazing. The way I look at it is I like to go to places for the food and nothing else. What’s the point of going to a pretty restaurant with crappy food? What makes this place even better are the prices. Let me put it to you in perspective, we ordered a birthday cake, 2 donuts an apple fritter, danish, a cinnamon roll and a bag of day old rolls for under 24 dollars. Not to mention that those day old rolls are also amazing and taste as fresh as if they were new rolls. Needless to say give this diamond in the rough a chance and stop worrying about the way things look!

First of all the shop was dirty and undesirable! The lady behind the counter was very rude and not helpful! It was as if she could not wait for us to leave! Since we came in I felt obligated to make a purchase! So I selected a few items, I asked what a certain kind of cookie was, she said the Wedding Cake kind. I think that they forgot the nuts! It had NO flavor at all! But I will say that the glazed donut holes were good, but after a few hours they died! So needless to say I was gravely disappointed, one star is over rating the shop! Oh! I almost forgot, there were flies in one of the cases!

Came in from California to visit family and we needed a birthday cake quick. They had exactly what we were looking for and it was phenomenal. The cake wasn’t to sweet and the flavor was on point. It tasted like cinnamon rolls and it the cake was a perfect balance between being soft and having a nice body to it. I’ll be coming back when I’m back in town. The owner was real swell with, excellent customer service.

The wife and I are still looking for a replacement for Cinnamon Rose cakes. We figured this is would be it based on the reviews. My wife liked the place for its cleanliness and friendly service, over the phone and in person. The cake was beautifully decorated and I mean it was a stunning looking cake. However, we were a little disappointed on the cake itself. 1) The candy frosting layer was way too thick. This took away from the taste of the bread. I think this is partly why the cake looked so uniformly square on the outside. 2) The strawberry filling was some cheap candy substance. This also took away from the taste. I was honestly expecting strawberry marmalade for the price of the cake. 3) The bread itself was ok, but it still left a lot to be desired. It’s just an average birthday cake. So if you are into looks not too worried about the taste, this is your place.

Family owned since 1980. Nice little shop with a focus on decorated cakes made to order in round, daisy and heart shapes. A wide variety of smaller baked goodies are in the cases and an ample selection of burritos in the cooler ready to be taken home and popped a minute in the microwave for a quick dinner. Plates of cookies are on display ready for you to take to the friend’s house tonight. They have 3 tables for two for you to enjoy your selection and a glass partition allows you to watch the cake decorating. Hey! Good coffee, Dinner and a show!!! Ok. On to the important stuff… Mmm apple fritter bearclawthing! Theirs is strong on the cinnamon without being overpowering. The glaze to pastry ratio is perfect. Its a heavier more substantial version than some I’ve had in EP. Denser without seeming overworked or not risen When I get one anywhere I know Im not going to be having a second, and some of the lighter ones can leave me feeling unsatisfied, which is BAD for the waistline. This one was the perfect balance of filling hefty areas where the glaze pocketed ever so slightly, balanced by puffy sweet bready areas. A texture as well as a taste treat. These people go above and beyond to make their customers feel welcome. They«get» the whole idea of service as an essential part of offering a product. Its obvious they have a devoted following, and for good reason! Wish I lived closer… nah. Cant afford a new wardrobe. Lol

Cox’s Bakery made my twins’ 7th year old birthday cake. We were so satisfied we are ordering again from them for their 8th birthday. We had a chocolate cake with banana filling and buttercream frosting and many people went back for seconds. There were a few people there who normally don’t like bananas but the cake was so good they loved the cake too!

Yum yum yum. First trip here was a winner, as everything we tried was fantastic. Being a midwesterner originally, I fancy myself an apple fritter connoisseur, and Cox’s was the best I’ve had in years. We were also quite happy with the chorizo & egg burrito, cinnamon roll, and great service from Justin on a Sunday morning. Best of all, the prices were crazy low. We’re searching for another excuse to go to the Northeast…

I predict that the owners of this place will be rolling in «dough» soon due to the high quality of their baking. They’ll have so much«bread» that I predict a second locating will be sprouting up overnight like a «flour.» «Cake» up and smell the cookies, El Paso! And so on. Stupid unbearable jokes aside, absolutely no one could hope for more from a bakery. Everything I’ve had from this place is the tops and makes wares from other bakeries a chore to eat. Some degenerate friend of mine even got a birthday cake with a penis baked onto it(the penis was probably not real), so this bakery is totally with it. This bakery deserves to succeed and likely will, make no «scones» about it!!!
