Went here actually in November, but a crazy school schedule has kept me behind on here and now it says the location is reported to be closed so I am unsure but will make this review sweet and to the point. I ordered the green chili chicken enchiladas. They were pretty much amazing! The sauce was very different then I had before but I would order it again!

This was the first restaurant that came up on my Unilocal when we were looking for a place to go. I was hesitant at first because reviews were up and down. We went anyway. I have to say I’m glad we did. The chips and salsa were amazing, salt was added to chips which I love. The server was so nice she was sweet and attentive. Our nacho appetizer was delicious. Their menu offered so much. I had a shrimp pasta and my husband had the combo plate both were great. The salsa was so good, it’s hard to find good salsa. Unfortunately we got bad news. The manager came to our table and told us that was their last day open. The building owner lost his property and they had to close. I asked if they would relocate and she had explained they had not looked into it because the owner had just told them last week. How sad. My husband and I both wished them the best of look and hope to find them in another location when we come back, she did mention that however the new owners of the building were going to be would hopefully let them reopen their restaurant. I hope so. I left my server a $ 15 tip hope that makes her smile.

By far one of the best local spots to go to. Don’t let there location fool you. The food is amazing. I’ve had the balsamic chicken and fish tacos and both were nothing short of amazing. Not to mention there beer on tap is cheap and they have a better selection then your local Applebee’s. The staff is friendly as well.

«A hidden gem» has to be the most trite restaurant descriptor ever to be used, but that’s exactly how you’d describe El Asador. Way out East, past El Dorado High School is the Good Time gas station, and within the convenient store is a cozy sit-down eatery. Once inside, you’ll forget about slushies as you’re transported to a nice restaurant and patio complete with wine and draught beer offerings. Open for about five years, they’ve recently revamped their menu of mostly Spanish and Mexican dishes that includes sandwiches, salads, burgers and pastas. It’s going to be hard not to fill up on their complimentary chips and salsa of thick, freshly fried tostadas and salsa fuego(roasted jalapenos and tomatillos), which can also be purchased at the gas station. Save room for appetizer selections of queso fundido, jumbo lump crab cakes, hummus, avocado fries with sriracha lime sauce and ultimate nachos that are piled high, and thankfully, can be ordered as a half portion. My parents ordered the nachos to share and they still had leftovers to take home! They really enjoyed them, especially because there was a bit of everything-chili beans, queso, sour cream, guacamole, etc. I tried one of their new menu items which I thought was a nice creative vegetarian option. Two enchiladas stuffed with couscous, roasted vegetables and black beans were smothered in poblano cream sauce atop a bed of cilantro lime rice. I loved the creamy sauce, but would have preferred corn tortillas instead of the flour ones they used. I also would have liked more beans rather than couscous, since they used flour tortillas; with the rice, it was kind of carb overload. They have a couple of other vegetarian options like classic enchiladas, chile rellenos, pasta, a mushroom burger, and a fancy grilled cheese. I’d love to return to try more of their food if I didn’t live on the complete opposite side of town. Also, I agree that the service is a bit slow(us and another couple were the only ones there), but our waitress was super nice and accommodating. El Asador is the perfect balance of casual and fine dining in an unusual location. Don’t miss out on gourmet burger Tuesdays and street taco Wednesdays where items are specially priced(vegetarian option included!).

I would’ve given this place a 5 but recently the service has gone down hill. The owners take up an entire table for her family which I find weird. Often you have to ask for more refills and the food takes abnormally long to come out. It wasn’t always this way and used to be a weekly usual for us as of lately we have skipped it due to service.

My experiences was ok. The beer was good of course. My food was just alright. I had green chicken enchiladas. Service was great however.

Like others in the past I have to say the service is crap. After 45 minutes they came and told me that they didn’t even have the food I ordered(the salmon) an instead to try the bacon wrapped shrimp and of course I said yes that sounds good and I figured it would be fast because it was suggested. So here I am after an hour and a half my wife and I are waiting for our food still and wondering what is going on. She ordered beef tacos. I figure since we have been here so long we would write a review on the wait and if we get our food we will write a review on the food. Two stars instead of one because they brought us chips while we wait and they are good. Ok after almost 2 hours we got our food and it was really really good. I give there food a 9 out of 10. I just wish they would get some help cause the service is bad the food is good and even the waiter feels bad but I’m sure everyone here understands it not his fault cause he is moving. They also told me because they messed up earlier I could have onion rings on the house and they sure are good but unfortunately they decided they were not on the house anymore. So the food is great the service is bad and there feel good in the house was a fib but I’m not worried. I would come back again but would call at least an hour in advance to get my order in.

Really good steak tacos! Plate comes with jalapeño toreado, baked potato, beans de la hoya, and some cheese that tops off the taco so wonderfully!

This place was great, I’m visiting El Paso with my boyfriend to see his family. So I am very new to the local area. We needed a last minute place to eat and drink, saw this place and I don’t regret going. The service was great, the ambiance was cool also, small mom and pop looking place but the style inside was point on. The food was great, and the beers kept on coming, dale! Me encanto.

As good as the food is in this restaurant they need to get it together. Their service is super slow, they constantly running out of glassware to serve drinks. The staff is friendly however they can’t never get your food at a reasonable time. If you have 30 – 45 minutes to spare in order to get your food then come at your own risk. I been here 2 times and is always the same story. Too bad because their food is good but they need help or better staff in their kitchen

I’ve eaten here twice and twice I was blown away by the flavors of the food. It’s so good! I got the chicken fajitas both times.

Very yummy margaritas and food. The only downside was the slow service. But, that will definitely not keep me from going back. I will most likely be a regular. SOOOOGOOOD!

I was pleasantly surprised by my overall experience with this restaurant. I went on a Wednesday so it was Taco Wednesday! The chips and salsa we started off with was crispy and tasty! Ordered one of every taco special just to sample and each one was actually delicious. Quality flavor and presentation was definitely present. «Des» was our server who was very knowledgeable with the menu and took care of us from beginning to end with her bubbly personality. Timing of food was on point. Although I didn’t enjoy their flan dessert, I was overall satisfied. I would recommend this Hidden Gem to everyone!!!

We went to this place last night and we really liked it. I had the shrimp fajitas and it was a lot of food. It came with beans, rice, guacamole, sour cream, pico de gallo, cheese and 8 tortillas. It was delicious. My husband had the steak Tacos and they were great too. Service was great too. We will definitely be back And we were back, multiple times– it really became one of our favorite spots in El Paso

The food was okay. It took forever to get our food. The food needed more flavor. You can find better Mexican food elsewhere.

The food was okay, the waiter tried his best to provide good service, but the food took way longer than it should have. Not worth spending as much as we did for this experience. Will not be returning, which is sad because the atmosphere was very nice and looked promising.

The first day I went here was my first weekend living in El Paso. It’s a new spot, I ordered Huevos Rancheros, it was actually Huevos Montados(not on the menu), which is definitely a Southwest thing. For breakfast it’s a nice, quaint spot for Mexican food. The next time I went there was for dinner one night and I ate Chile Colorado, honestly I didn’t like it. There were only a few chunks of meat, and there was plenty of potatoes. Not what I’m looking for in my Chile Colorado. Breakfast-good Dinner-bland.

Wow! What a pleasant surprise! Who knew a restaurant attached to a gas station could be soooo great!!! Best mexican food I’ve found in El Paso thus far AND great prices!!! This place is super clean! Which is always something I’m looking for when going out to eat! Beautiful patio area and inside is nice as well! Service was excellent! Very fast and efficient. The fresh, homemade tortilla chips and salsa were phenomenal! By husband and I had to force ourselves to stop eating them and save room for our entrée! We shared a taco plate that came with 3 crispy chicken tacos and beans and rice for only 6.99! Then, here comes the best part… Wednesday is gourmet taco night! $ 2 specialty tacos! I had the chipotle shrimp and my husband had the carne. There were about 4 other options on the menu that we will have to go back and try! Total bill for both of us, $ 15! And we left full! Oh yeah, $ 2.50 pints of Amber Bock, shock top and Michelob Ultra all the time! And $ 3 pints of Stella!!! Plus, they do sangria by the pitcher and to go! I didn’t even know that was legal!!!
