Used to love this store remember visiting with my grandparents ever since I was little. One of our favorite places to visit before we left El Paso and now the store is closed to the general public. So sad and disappointing!!!

My husband and I tried to visit the Saddleblanket store today but when we got there, all we found was a very confusing sign on their front door. First it said they’d moved next door. We tried looking for the new location but when we had no luck, we went back to double check the sign. That’s when we saw a second part of the sign which said they were no longer open to the public. So what’s the deal? We left confused and disappointed.

This place is moving to another location so I guess when I went everything was currently on clearance. Very nice furniture which made me give it one more star than it deserves. Not a large selection of things just mainly ponchos and native American stuff. Would not visit again until they officially move.

Nice furniture at outrageous prices. There was a dining table I loved for $ 2500! I found the exact same table for $ 570 at another store. I’m sure half the stuff they carry can be found for a quarter of the price elsewhere.

What a store! Every time I pay El Paso a visit I devote at least an hour or so to a trip over to the east side to visit this place. Great selection of products and all of them are top quality. Prices cannot be beat. Extremely cordial and courteous staff. They treat you like family. And, on Saturday the store hosts the local humane society and has an adopt a pet in their rear lot area. What great people.

I stopped by here while passing through El Paso en route to AZ. I was looking for a place to buy some moccasins. I thought they would be nice easy shoes to wear around in the desert climate I would be in for the next 3 months – of summer. Too expensive! The cheapest were at least $ 40. Oh, well. I guess I don’t really need to be traipsing around the desert in my moccasins like a Native American of the old days. So much for fitting in. They do have a great assortment of southwest memorabilia. Jewelry, blankets, pottery. All that’s neat to look at. Being from San Antonio though, there’s not really anything at this place that you can’t get at any other such store in Texas, of which there’s a lot. Kinda pricy but fun to stop by.

I thought everything here was awesome. The jewelry was a little expensive but I thought everything else was pretty well priced compared to other places that carry similar things. I def wanted to buy like 20 different things.

This store its truly southwest! Your selection of merchandise ranged from blankets to ponchos to bridles and saddles. The jewelry selection phenomenal. If you want to take home the El Paso experience this its the store for you.

Great place to buy gifts or stuff for yourself. Also you can order off their website and they will ship it for you. We have so many blankets we bought from this store eight years ago and they are still bright and in perfect condition after many washes. The blankets are suitable for decoration or regular use. They keep you nice and warm! I love the prices too! Considering the beauty and quality, you’d think it would be expensive but it’s not. And on Saturdays they have dog adoptions! They even host a yearly dog fair which is awesome. So definitely go, look at all the cool stuff, they even have furniture! The staff is really friendly and helpful as well.

I freaking love this place! I would love to buy the whole store because everything is so beautiful and you might think that’s it’s a style for only older people but maybe you noticed a certain trend towards bohemian/gypsy chic and this place definitely provides key elements for a nice and comfy home. I bought a sugar skull magnet(because I collect magnets from all over the world on my fridge) and this beautiful wall décor with colorful birds. But the best thing that I got for our new apartment is this wonderful handwoven rug. It’s out of wool and they out the price down to 130 $ from 250 $… Yeah! Also, I think that the prices are absolutely fair and I would rather get some souvenirs for my friends and family in Germany at the Saddleblanket than at the Airpory or any other cheap tourist-store. The company supports the humane society and I think they’re a great business for the community. They also have a 10% military discount. So if you’re in El Paso, this place is a must see. Oh and don’t forget to support the humane society… Pet adoption is here every Saturday :)

Huge selection Tex-Mex, Southwestern, Cowboy Western, and pure Mexican style items. I found the staff to be very helpful. Prices are very reasonable. The store doubles as their wholesale warehouse. The only curious item is for a «must see» El Paso destination I was surprised to find it closes at 5pm. Get there early…

I’m not a fan of shopping without knowing exactly what I’m looking for. I know what I want, I go to the store, buy it and leave. While in El Paso, my wife wanted to go shopping for souvenirs. Damn it! My cousin recommended this place and off we go. I expected to be following my wife around just waiting to get out of there. Was I wrong. This place has everything Southwestern. There are axes made with cattle jaw bones. Bows and arrows. Hats, my God, all kinds of hats. Ceramics, pottery, a complete mountain lion skin ready to use as a rug, blankets, boots, a ZEBRA skin… I can go on and on. I recommend this place to anyone. And the prices were fair. My wife got a 33% discount, without asking, on one item just because they didn’t have that item in another style that she wanted. It’s family owned and the owner is hands-on. I know because his picture is in newspaper articles spread out on walls throughout the store and I recognized him, walking around giving orders, while I was shopping. Funniest part shopping there was when I walked into the restroom, there was a mannequin of a woman looking at herself in the mirror like she was doing her face. I actually said«Sorry» and walked out. I checked the sign on the door to verify it was the mens and walked back in. That’s when I realized it was a mannequin. Funny!!! We spent about 2 ½ hours in here and I didn’t mind it at all. Lots of stuff to see. Very nice. I didn’t give it 5 stars because something this big needs a beer-and-taco stand.

If you ever want to know the history and materials they hand made in El Paso, this is the place to explore. My cousin that lives in El Paso told me about this place and thought I’d see what its all about. It was kind of hard to find at first b/c when I googled the address, I guess it was the back of the warehouse. It’s right off HWY10 on a one way. Theres a big sign, so you can’t miss it! I really thought it was like a souvenir store, but it wasn’t. More authentic stuff like Turquoise beads and jewelry that was hand-made. They were very beautiful. They also have a whole bunch of rugs, home furnitures and horse saddles. They also carry all different sizes sombrero from large to small. They are soo heavy! On the left side of the building they interesting figuring and clay pottery. I didn’t buy anything here because I was so overwhelmed with all the stuff they have there. There was just so much to see in so little time. But If I’m ever in the area, I would come back and check it out =0)

If you ever find yourself driving on Interstate 10 thru Western Texas and even New Mexico, you will most definitely see many billboards for this place. They are everywhere. They promise that you will find acres of deals on wares such as turquoise, pottery and Mexican knickknacks. Deals on turquoise? That is something my boyfriend and I are sure not able to pass up! *Be warned, they are NOT open on Sundays though.* It is a bit overwhelming walking around the place. There is quite a lot to see. They have a whole other annex building adjoining them too, that carries even more over there as well. We did not find the prices to be as great they proclaimed. It’s basically a huge store that sells all that you can imagine of things found across the Border. So, you can get many of the same products without having to dig up your passport and risking crossing over into Juarez, Mexico. We ended up only buying one pair of silver and turquoise earrings. The deals just weren’t all there as we had hoped.

Of course the amount of stuff in this place hits you as soon as you enter the store and you immediately find things you’d like to get for decoration or for friends. It was my first time and the folks on the main floor were very smiley and cheery trying to make sure I was doing all right in finding soon to-be purchases. I was in the Mexico import room where the Dia de los muertos dolls were and I wanted the prices on a small figurine and a piece of artwork. A gentlemen was on a wireless phone answering a customer’s inquiry when I motioned to him(he was the only one around) about the price of what I was holding. He pointed to a lady towards the back of that wing who was stocking and reorganizing and I went to ask her. This lady had shoulder length– dirty blonde hair with a black saddle blanket shirt. And when I approached her she acted as if I was not there so I asked her and her flat out answer with no eye contact was«I don’t know. Go to the counter and ask them.» Really? Terribly done and in the wrong tone– and I suspect it’s not just a one-time occurrence from her. I was really rubbed the wrong way and left the store. Sure they offer neat stuff and say it’s fair priced, but I’ll just get it at the airport or get something else at another souvenir shop.
