Kohl’s

First let me say that this review isn’t about customer service. I only spoke with one employee who was very friendly so there doesn’t seem to be a real issue with that. I just wasn’t impressed with the overall selection, prices, or organization of the store.
Many years ago I remember Kohl’s being a place that was affordable for families. Truthfully I haven’t shopped this chain in a very long time. I don’t really understand the direction they have went in since then but it seems they have tried to align themselves with a department store like Macy’s or Dillard’s. The price tag on items is often exaggerated. $ 17 for a no name brand tee shirt with a skull on it — on clearance?! What?
A lot of the clothing is on different size hangers, like a hanger marked ‘S’ is attached to a XL piece of clothing. None of the sizes are grouped accordingly either. It felt like a full on hunt to find a certain size. I also saw lots of sale signs everywhere but I felt that the majority of prices, regardless of brand, are still expensive considering that competitors pricing is much less for the same or similar items.
When walking the store, what became my biggest peeve was that a ridiculous amount of items didn’t have a price tag on them or a price displayed on the monitor above the item. I did not see any self-​scanners anywhere either.
If you have a Kohl’s credit card (you save 20% on purchases), Kohl’s cash, or a Kohl’s coupon, then you probably will be able to find a few things at a more fair price.

In the very early years, I never liked Kohl’s; something about its layout irked me. But the store on N. Desert Blvd is absolutely great. I’ve purchased numerous kitchen items, bedding, rugs, clothing, gifts and workout equipment. The store staff are helpful and personable. The sales are surprising, especially if you visit the store during their ‘Early Bird/​Night Owl’ hours. The store often gives you ‘Kohl’s cash’ depending on how much you spend. If you use their Kohl’s cash within the required time period, you can save a ton of money. I highly recommend this store.

Great brands, great prices, and always giving coupons and discounts. What’s not to like!
