Great service, no waiting time. We ordered large bowl of menudo and enchiladas montadas. The enchilada sauce has no flavor, it also appears to be enhanced by floury I give it consistency. It’s the only place in the border region that can make refried beans be a tasteless mass. The coffee was bold and flavorful. The menudo was just as tasteless as the enchilada sauce, the only reason why I rate it two stars is because of the great service I had hoped the food was just as good.

If you’re looking for great Mexican food, La Malinche is one of those places in El Paso to get some. Their service is always great and their food is flavorful. They are consistent in everything they do. I recommend their Caldos, Menudo or breakfast

No service! We left after 15 minutes after we brought it to the attention of 1 server that no one had come to our table. She left 2 straws on a table that had no drinks and never returned. Will not go back and do not recommend !!!

Horrible service and the lady at the register is rude ! All the tables were dirty when we walked in and had to wait for a while. Rather be at the Riviera.

The biggest piece of shit restaurant imaginable. They don’t sell beer. They don’t have limes. I had to go to the Supermarket to but limes. They charged extra for the bread when I ordered menudo. The bill came out two $ 25.00 for two people at breakfast! I’m surprised they didn’t charge me for the ice cubes. The cashier was super rude you would think she goes to work on a broom. The owners are fundamentalist Christians and therefore no beer. I hate for people to push their beliefs on other people. The tables were filfthy. Never going back!

This place is great for breakfast Menudo and steak tacos for dinner. The atmosphere is nice and the servers are very polite and attentive. If you want authentic Mexican food, El Paso style, this is your place. Sunday mornings are very busy so plan to be sitting in a crowded restaurant. Otherwise, you will love this place. Everything on the menu is authentic and great. Even the hamburger steak with fries is worth trying.

Great family restaurant service is pretty good. I order the chuleta a la mex. Food was good but steak had all the fat on it I had to cut it off. The tortillas were not very good. Other than that I like this place very much I would come back.

Service was ok but the food was horrible. Their tacos were stale and came out very quick which makes me believe they possibly microwaved their left overs. We weren’t given chips and salsa and the waiter said they ran out. I have never left a restaurant still feeling hungry after finishing my plate. People there spoke highly of this place but I will not be giving it another chance.

Great food, low prices, friendly staff. What else could you ask for? Try the huevos rancheros or machaca for breakfast. For lunch:(surprise) great hamburgers as well as enchiladas with red sauce. Don’t forget to add a fried egg on top(very El Paso-ish)!

We were going to head to L&J Café again today, but near our hotel was La Malinche, so we decided to take a chance. Wow, the food we had was awesome! Caldo de res, tostadas and green chili plate were outstanding. The service was great, thanks to Ivan. The atmosphere is made for a quick or leisurely visit, seat yourself. I will definitely be here again this week.

La Malinche is a place that I can rely on getting good Mexican food without spending too much. Their food is real Mexican. They probably use some commercial sauces and sometimes tortillas chips from bags. However, their food is very similar to the one you get at homes in Mexico. Nowadays, most people don’t make mole or enchiladas from scratch. They have many options to choose from. Tacos, quesadillas, enchiladas, or a fried steak. They have the dish of the day, which is unexpensive and you get a beef broth with your meail. The quesito fundido is fantastic. It is full of flavor and well served. The service is good, atmosphere casual and I’m always happy of come back.

The quality of our Doniphan Drive location has gone way downhill in recent months. On our last visit over the weekend, the tables were dirty, the floors were filthy, and there were dead roaches in the corner. The chicken in my chicken salad consisted of little dry spindles of «meat» and the lettuce was browning. I don’t know why, but the quality of this place has just plummeted.

This is not the first time this place and location disappoints, but it will definitely be the last. It seems like every time we eat here the quality gradually gets worse. Decided on menudo on Sunday morning. The waitress which was doubling as cashier, was wearing a shirt so opened in the front, it was completely inappropriate and made me embarrassed to even talk to her. Her chest was overlapping everywhere. So she finally brings us silverware, only to see that it’s dripping with what looks like soggy bread. It was quickly replaced, and we waited at least 20 minutes… for menudo. When it finally arrived, it was cold. Never again.

We recently went on a road trip to Mexico and en route, passed through EP. We were all very hungry for a Mexican-style breakfast and so my handy Unilocal app helped me locate this restaurant. Great find! My in-laws are pretty particular when it comes to «mexican food». being that they are.. and I got plenty of kudos from them for this«great find» for them. They are now adding it to their routine whenever they travel through EP. First things first. it was busy. a good sign that the locals like it and support it. Some of the clientele knew eachother and so did the staff and clientele — good sign. Next was the flavor of the food. Hubby got machaca and I got the steak with eggs and FIL got the enchiladas… we were all eating from eachother’s plate — everything was very flavorful, cooked freshly and very filling. Staff seem under-equipped(being that it was quite busy) since I only saw 2 or 3 servers, but they were on the ball — quick with orders and quick with any requests. We were delighted to have had a tasty and filling meal with quick service in an obviously much-enjoyed establishment.

We were pulling out of town looking for a place that was open to get breakfast(which was hard, because it was Sunday!) We were so happy to find this place. Our order consisted of several different burritos and an iced tea to go. They were all amazing. The only one I may not order again was the guacamole one. I didn’t realize, until La Malinche, that there was such a thing as too much guacomole. Lesson happily learned.

The service is friendly, efficient & attentive. They get the food out quick & piping hot & never fail to refill your drink or the complimentary basket of chips & salsa. The chiles rellenos were gooey and cheesy and smothered with a red sauce that was slightly spicy. Yum! Also recommended is the Hamburger steak, which is a beef patty covered in queso sauce. Sounds weird. Tastes UNREAL!
