Man beautiful Italian gem, if you can find this place in central El Paso, it’s worth it. I especially like the Italian wedding soup, but I’ve not had anything disappointing. Love this place.

The food was excellent but the Ghost Dinner was even better. Thank you so much for sharing the experiences of your establishment! The owners and entire staff are wonderful! Go and enjoy!

We did our research before coming here. We watched the Paranormal Witness episode(Season 3, Episode 4). From what I can remember, it was built on what used to be a spiritualist church(church that would attempt to contact spirits of the dead) and they were finding relics while renovating the building. These relics appeared to be purposely walled in. One of those items was a Virgin Mary figurine. They would turn it one direction and it kept turning around on its own. Also, the ghost was progressively becoming more bold to the point of locking one of the workers in the bathroom and even attacking them. I did notice that the patrons were never bothered by the spirit. The waiting area is extremely small, maybe only 6 people can comfortably fit in it. Fortunately, our wait wasn’t long(maybe 15 minutes). We were sat in one of the smaller rooms and of course our table was the one right beside that Virgin Mary figure that was shown on the Paranormal Witness episode. I ordered the soup and the Chicken Parmigiana. I can’t remember the name of the soup, but I remembered that I loved it. Also, the one thing we noticed was how quickly our food came out. I thought my dish was just slightly on the blander side or maybe I’ve just developed a taste for food with a higher salt content. We were looking forward to dessert, but unfortunately they had run out of tiramisu and they warned us that the wait for the cannoli would take a while because they just put in a large order. The food was okay, but I’d be back for the character the restaurant holds and the great service.

After coming to El Paso for several years I learned just yesterday that this place is a restaurant! The story is that this place is haunted! The food and staff were great! Definitely will visit when I return to El Paso! I had the lasagne and Italian wedding soup!

Awesome place for a date or hanging out with family. Parking was an issue and service was friendly but a bit slow. The food was well worth the wait! Owner gave us a first hand recount to the paranormal activity that happens there. I had not seen the episode of Paranormal Witness before so this was a real treat for me. The women’s bathroom definitely gave me the creeps and captured orbs on pictures taken during our visit. Enjoyed every minute of our meal and time spent there. Highly recommend it! I had the chicken parmigiana & Spumoni & will go back again to try other items on the menu. The bread was delish!!!

I’ve passed monteleones for years and was always curious. So glad we decided to stop by. I learned it was a restaurant via Unilocal and that’s where I here’s about it’s spooky beginnings. I never saw the episode of paranormal witness they where in but I figured it just added to the intrigue the building façade already portrays. Moving to El Paso from NewYork city we were starved for REAL Italian American food not the cheese covered mess most try to pass as Italian. We entered the building which is slightly confusing since there’s two doors and it felt like we entered someone’s home. No loud music just the sound of chatter laughter and silverware hitting plates. The décor is a kitschy mix of movie mementos and house décor. A mix of Vegas rat pack and mott street in the Bronx. While it took awhile to be seated there was a large party there. A good sign cause if you choose to host a family event there it means the place has meaning to all if you. We got seated by the sweetest woman ever. And promptly ordered the house Chianti. The menu is small but we’ll rounded. We ordered the Monteleone medley??? I forgot but it’s a combo of several apps. The zucchini sticks, which where firm lightly breaded and delicious. The pizza rolls, which are more like delicate puffs of perfection. And the cheese wedges who’s is like a mozzarella stick on steroids omg! The Napoli sauce with them divine. We then ordered the lasagna and the chicken parm … WOW. I truly want to know where they get there cheese!!! The sauce delicious the chicken moist slightly breaded and marinated. The lasagna … Well my years as a chef honed my lasagna skills but my classical training can not compete with simple down home cooking made with love and family devotion. On a side note the wine serving us like your at a house party to lol one glass lasted the meal. We felt so comfortable and relaxed I see why people spend hours here. Our next goal the delicious pizza. Monteleones cools honest fare. You’ll leave full but not heavy and lethargic like when eating psusedo Italian food like I’ve garden. They grasped the concept of Italian cooking light and fresh and still have the American flare as well as a nod to the southwest demographic. We had so much fun we forgot the ghost stories. When I finally wanted to explore the owner regaled us not just with ghostly stories but also family stories. We truly felt like welcome gussets in their home. After exiting via the creepiest hallway we left relaxed full and lighthearted. We most defiantly will be back. Monteleones our new favorite«haunt».

It has been years since we went to this place. I was looking forward to it. It took forever to get service and when we did, it took forever to get our food. Our friends had to leave the minute they got their food to go. Not good. The wait staff was not bad, they looked frazzled and not their fault. I have to say when I actually got my food, I wasn’t happy. It lacked flavor. The wedding soup was good, a little salty, most people would not have been able to eat it and would be taking diuretics after to get rid of the fluids in their body. I will not go back.

It wasn’t exactly recent the last time I ventured here. It was with my wife for a last minute Valentine’s Day dinner. I escaped work early and surprised the wife. We dresses in a small tornado and hauled over to see if they would seat us. It was 45 mins after their posted final seating window when we arrived. They seated us with a smile in a small overflow room with four tables. They had two different three course meal options for two. Both were enticing. We chose the more traditional or basic pasta with red sauce plate with fried zucchini for the appetizer. Both were good, not exceptional. The dessert was some sort of creamy, cold concoction served in two small glasses covered in chocolate shavings… I have no idea what it was called. I just know it was awesome and disappeared far too quickly. We both had house red wine with the meal that went very well. Service was surprisingly good through the entire sitting. No one seemed flustered. Several couples came and went after we arrived. They were still sitting folks as we left. Almost no waiting without reservations and a seemingly full house. The speak easy, rat pack-esque atmosphere was the biggest selling point after the service. These guys saved a potentially miserable valentine’s day and made it a great date night we still talk about every year. It’s time I go back.

This was our 2nd time visiting the place and food was delicious! But service was soso. They need a cashier and two waiters and the place would be a 10… The layout to the building is confusing but fun walking thru it. We believe they should give you bread rolls with the lasagna. The pizza’s is thin and crunchy!!! Great stuff!!!

I like this place alot. I had the chicken parmesan and it was good. I’d probably get it again, but I want to try other stuff first. There’s a mob room and Vegas room that are cool. They look real. The service is good too. I went cause I wanted to see the ghost, but they never showed up. I think its because my friend was being to negative that the ghost didnt want to show itself.

There are two specific reasons I have always wanted to go to Monteleone’s: 1. The giant face painted on the side of the building with the words ‘Speakeasy’ next to it and 2. Because of the ghosts. I’m not exactly a believer in ghosts(that’s a bit of an understatement), but I love going to places that people claim are haunted or have some kind of presence. I may be a tad more skeptical than the normal El Pasoan, but as many haunted places as I’ve been, I have yet to see anything remotely unworldly. But that doesn’t make it any less fun. Monteleone’s was actually on Sy-fy’s Paranormal Witness earlier this year. Supposedly there was some kind of portal that was allowing evil spirits into the business. Since it’s discovery, it’s been sealed or closed or whatever the hell a medium does with a portal so no one can cross it, but apparently the medium left three friendly ghosts in Monteleone’s. I unfortunately didn’t encounter any of the ghosts, but luckily the ambiance made up for the lack of paranormal activity. I came in through the back and from the outside was expecting something a lot smaller. From the back you walk into a hallway that seems like a tunnel in a cave. If you go straight, there’s tables… but that room just seems like an overflow for the main dinning area. I circled back and took the left that I should’ve originally taken. The whole place is decorated with props from old movies and it’s prohibition/mob/rat pack themed. Pretty awesome. Not gonna lie, when you’re walking to the main dinning area there’s a display on the right that’s just kind of creepy… you just feel like the things are going to move. They didn’t, but if I was a ghost, that’s the kind of tricks I’d play on unsuspecting customer(here’s to hoping the ghosts have internet access and read this review). Monteleone’s is family owned and everyone working is a sweetheart. There really isn’t that long of a wait for food even though it comes out hot and fresh. I ended up having the Zucchini Sticks, Fettuccine Alfredo, and the Tiramisu. Overall I like the food my only comment would be the zucchini and fettuccine could’ve used a bit more salt… but I can always add my own salt and I’d rather eat at a place that doesn’t put enough salt than a place that puts too much salt. So Monteleone’s is still okay in my books. Overall, I like the food, but the experience is what has me totally sold on Monteleone’s. And if anyone else goes and has a ghost encounter at Monteleone’s please, please, PLEASE for the love of everything that makes me happy in this world, TELLMEABOUTIT!

Been here twice for lunch, interesting building and Rat pack décor. The lunch special is very reasonably priced $ 5.95 and includes drink soup/salad and dessert. Definately try the Italian wedding soup. The service was good and the food was good. Great family feel, I will definately go again, …get here early ‘cuz there isn’t much seating and it fills up quick during lunch rush.

Took the family to Monteleone’s last night for an early dinner. This is located on Gateway West off the freeway. It has the car sticking out of the house, I’m sure you have seen it. The inside of the building is just as odd as the outside. Many of decorations were used as props in movies. I was very shocked that the food was actually very good. The owners are the nicest people you will ever meet. The service was excellent. I walked in and it smelled great. I asked our waiter what the smell was. He said,“fresh baked lasagna.” I said I will try it. It was very good. If you want a different scene, this is it. Don’t let the building scare you give it a try.
