Coming from Los Angeles i had low expectations of this place. But to my surprise I was astounded by the selection they had and while not the largest, the quality was definitely there and for a pretty cheap price too! Our server Daniel made fantastic recommendations as my wife and I sampled over 12 or so different wines. Not only were his recommendations perfect for our palette but he even pointed out which bottle we could find locally and where. Overall it was an amazing experience that I would definitely recommend!

Nice place, wonderful menu besides just wine, chill atmosphere, awesome décor got good vibes. Unfortunately I just don’t like the location too much. Besides the weird location I like this bar very much.

What a strange location for a place with a cool vibe like this. You’ll find Mystic Grape in «medicine row» on the east side where all the doctors and hospitals are. In fact Mystic is the only thing in its shopping center that was not medical related(though, some may say wine is good medicine). Surrounding it are an allergy clinic, blood testing and rehabilitation center… And next door to a funeral home. Engraved wooden doors invite you into a dark moody bar. Wine related decorations surround you such as a chandelier made of wine glasses and bottles used as light fixtures. Tres chic. They do have tall tables, most of which were reserved that day. Fortunately, that led us to the semi private rooms, each names after a wine. We sat in merlot. We sat on plump couches, had our own private table and TV. One of the things that was suppose to be cool is the wine machines where you can get a card and sample different types of wines. However, according to the owner(?), TABC said that patrons in Texas are no longer allowed to serve themselves. So now, this has become wasted tech. You can get the bartender to get you some, but it doesn’t have that same kind of thrill. I think they can overcome this if they take one or two people at a time and filled the drinks for them while showing them the bottles and prices. All that being said, they do have quite a large wine selection from multiple countries. Anyone can find a wine to suit their palate. And if you don’t like wine? They’ve got you covered, too, with a good selection of beer and a booze. A ordered a very… Masculine… drink, Black Ice. It’s Bailey’s, vanilla vodka and creamer with coffee ice cubes. The black ice cubes were cool to see in the white drink, it was like looking at a negative of a picture. When you’re drinking, you want to make sure you have some food to absorb it and ensure you don’t get hit too hard. I took the advice of my fellow Unilocalers and only got small plates, which was a good idea. We had the baked brie with pecans and cranberries. When I saw the plate come out, I was worried that there wouldn’t be enough crackers. However, I found it to be just enough. We also shared the Chile Alfredo pizza. The cheese on this was uh may zing! Super stretchy, which I love and a good accompaniment to the charred crust, mushrooms and onions. I really wish there had been more green chile, though, since I couldn’t find any on mine. Finally, curiosity got the better of me and I ordered the chipotle mashed potatoes. This vibrant red mound of tater goodness was gone in seconds. It had a little chipotle flavour, but I think it could’ve been doubled. That didn’t stop me from devouring these creamy spuds. Now for the only two low points. First, I wasn’t sure how the waiter thing was suppose to work at first. I ordered my drink at the bar and asked for a menu(which lights up in the dark, super cool). Eventually we got the menu and a blank light board. We found out at the end that if we wanted something else, we should’ve turned the light red. Oh. This is a nice feature so that you’re not constantly bothered, it would’ve been nice to have known earlier. The other thing, and I can’t believe I’m saying this, is the website. I tried to get the info ahead of time online, but their site is untidy and overloaded with information both on mobile and full browser. If someone just organized it, it could easily be a great resource for them. I’d volunteer if I had more than phone internet. Should you go? Absolutely! Bring a bit of money, because it can add up quickly, but it’s worth it. As a matter of fact, we know where we are taking one of our out of town guests next time them they visit!

Our first time at was a lovely experience. We ordered the Alfredo Pizza as our appetizer. It was delicious! I started with the sweet white wine flights, my husband had flat tire beer. For our entrée, I had the salmon and my husband enjoyed the chicken. The Chipotle mashed potatoes had a weird texture. But everything else was decent. I also had their bacon bloody mary, which was good. The live music started pretty late, around 9:30ish. They were wonderful. For dessert, we shared the chocolate mousse. It was fantastic. Overall, it was nice. Next time we go, we will order only small bites and drinks. The entrée was overrated. Nice little spot! By the way, the drink menu is a mile long! You’ll definitely find whatever you are in the mood for… wine, beer, mixed drinks.

We tried this place a few weeks ago for the first time. The place is pretty trendy and hip. It’s pretty chill and relaxing. We were there during a week night and there wasn’t very many people. We really liked their lit up menus and variety of wine, beer, and food. We had the beef tips to start with our wine and that meat was so good we had to order ribeyes. Haha. I was pretty impressed with the flavor and tenderness of the steak. It came with chipotle mashed potatoes, asparagus and some dipping sauce. I didn’t think chipotle would work with mashed potatoes, but it was really good. I think I will my taters with chipotle from now on! Lol! Everything was on point. Good job! I definately recommend this place. The only thing we thought was a little awkward, were the tables. They were high and looked a lil too country. Hahaha! Maybe a lil too eclectic for me. The service was great and very courteous staff. Worth the stop.

Huge wine selection, although none of them were familiar. I was told they change them often as well. You’re able to buy a 1oz, 2.5oz, 5oz or bottle. The smaller ounces Coke in handy when trying to decide on which bottle to purchase. Their food menu is small but sweet! Ordered the steak bites as an appetizer and it was beyond delicious. Served with a cognac peppercorn sauce that I could’ve slapped my mama over. Lol. Entrees are a decent size. Ordered the fire roast d cod and it came with two filets over rice pilaf and steamed broccolini. Chicken entrée was tasty as well. There’s a couple of VIP booths that you can reserved. We walked in the day before Valadoom’s day and fortunately had a minimal wait for a table of two, even though the place was packed!

This place is good. I just wasn’t crazy about the expensive food. It’s a great place to drink and hang out with friends if ur not into the club scene.

The Mystic Grape is great for girls’ nights out! Reasonable prices, great variety, friendly, knowledgeable service. The bartenders are very nice, and are happy to help you pick which wine you might like best. This is a great little spot to meet up at for after-work drinks towards the end of the week, as well. They have live music, which gives the venue a unique ambiance, since El Paso doesn’t have a ton of options for grabbing a casual drink or two and listening to whoever is playing that night. I have not had the food here, yet, which is why I gave it a 4-star instead of 5-star rating, but hope to have the chance to check it out soon. I definitely recommend giving it a try!

The second I walked into Mystic Grape, I knew I was going to love it. The live piano playing as we walked in probably had a lot to do with it. We were lucky enough to snag one of the private booths. These booths are amazing. It kind of reminds me of Japan, where you basically have a quasi-private space to just hang out with friends. The booth can easily sit six people and has a TV embedded with it. There’s a also a very rudimentary signal light to alert the staff you need service. It’s basically the perfect set up to catch up with friends or just enjoy good company. We really appreciated how passionate the staff was about their wines. We had amazing recommendations on what to pair with our meal. I’ll admit, I’m a novice with wine, so it was nice to leverage their expertise. I particularly liked how you can order wines by 1 oz, 2.5 oz, or 5 oz. So if you wanted, you could try plenty of wines to find what you like and not have to break the bank. We are undoubtedly going to be repeat customers at Mystic Grape. It’s just too amazing of a place to pass up.

My wife and I were visiting some friends in El Paso recently. They took us to the Mystic Grape. What a great dining experience. The food was excellent, the service was excellent, and the ambience is perfect. this is a very unique place. The way that the wine dispensers are set up, we could sample a number of different types of wines that we would not have had the opportunity to do and any other place. And there was very good live music! We will definitely go back! Mark from Albuquerque

This place is definitely worth taking a minute to give it a review. I drive by it several times a day(It’s in my neighborhood) and I find it hard to believe I had never been here until today. Anyway… I decided to ask my wife out on a date since it has been a while we went out without the kiddos. I picked this place because it was close to home and because of the good reviews it has. It was a great experience overall. We went on a Friday night at around 10PM. The parking lot was packed but there were still available tables inside. There was no wait to get a table. And they have seating arrangements for all locations(groups, couples, celebrations, bar, open area, private booths). I picked a booth and its a very different experience from the open tables. Very private and comfortable. I loved the decoration and the seating stile. We ordered two of the flight wine samples and we really liked three out of ten different wines. Food was excellent. We had the steak bites and the spinach cheese ravioli with chicken. Everything was very tasty and fresh. There was a laddie from Phoenix with a lovely voice singing live. No complaints about the service at all. Enough reading… If you haven’t been here before, you have to give it a shot!

It is unbelievable that I have never visited this Wine Bar before, shame on me… Tonight was our first visit(Saturday night @11ish) and our visit was overall positive. Great wine selection and options if you want to sample, have half a glass or enjoy a full glass. Perfect amount of food options to pair your wine. We had the cheese/meat platter as an appetizer followed by steak bites and the margarita pizza for our main course. All three were tasty and timing on delivery was on point. Live music was great, lighting was perfect, and our server, Miss Serena was wonderful. Overall, this is definitely a must-check-out or location to go for a classy place to enjoy an intimate dinner, hang out for corporate get togethers, or impress out-of-towners. Highly recommended by my family.

This is definitely out new favorite spot when it comes to having a romantic date. We came in on a Wednesday evening so it was kind of empty in there but still the atmosphere was great as was the service! Our waiter was super friendly! They have a cool system to where you change the light on the beer menu on your table from green to red if you want a waiter to come to your table. I ordered the grilled veggie burger and let’s just say my husband ended up stealing almost half of it off my plate — not because his grilled salmon wasn’t good(matter of fact is was delicious but I only stole like 20% off his food haha) — but because the burger was delicious and freshly made. It took a while for the food to come out but that’s how you know that they cook it fresh and you could definitely taste the fresh ingredients. Of course, this place is known for their selection of wine and beer so who are we not to try? You can either order a small glass for $ 1.50 to try the wine, or you order a regular glass for about $ 3 which is, in my opinion a fair price, OR you can order the big glass for about $ 5(? I’m not sure), I can only recommend the«schloss koblenz» wine, a white and sweet one from good old Germany(yeah guys, we Germans make a pretty good wines too ;) What else did I not mention yet? Oh my, how could I forget about the strawberry-cheesecake? It’s to die for! We shared the desert because the entrée filled is up pretty good, but really, I did not want to share this piece of heaven with my husband(I’m a fat kid at heart). All in all, guys… I will definitely recommend this place and I’m happy they’re close to where we live and not on the west side! ;p(to all my west side readers… Don’t hate! Y’all already have plenty of awesome restaurants over there)

My husband wanted to take me here because he heard about it and knows I love wine! Well let me tell you, I have been to a lot of wine bars but this place is by far the best! Inside is elegant and classy. Dim lighting. Very romantic. They have big couches in secluded corners if you have a large party. They have tons and tons of wine! You tell your server how much money you Would like to put on a card then he gives you the card to go around and use in their wine tasting machines! Each tasting is $ 1-$ 3, after you taste a wine you like you can go ahead and buy yourself the glass right there! Glasses range from $ 5-$ 12. Some are more expensive if you want a pricey one. The food was great. It is on the pricey side. I had the spinach and cheese ravioli with a green chili cheese sauce. The portion I got was huge! Our server was excellent. Very nice and accommodating. One of the owners even came by to speak with us herself! My husband and I will definitely be coming back here!

I am shaking my head for never coming here before this weekend, it is just right up the road from me. Absolutely great interior, food and music. The only 2 very small negatives that I have are; 1. The service was a little slow with the waiter checking on us and food coming out, BUT we were in no rush and the food was fantastic. Which is better than a rush job. 2. There are TV’s in the more private booths, which is nice, but the music that is playing over the speakers should match what is being shown on the video. Take care of the service piece AND it is a definite 5 star vs. the 4.5 that I would like to give it.
