The food here is amazing! BUT and this is a BIG but… the time it takes to get your beers or any drinks from the bar is absolutely ridiculous! Order your next beer when they bring you your first. Also if you ever want to shop the HSN network don’t worry they have that playing for you on a bunch of TVs. Unfortunately this is not our first time here and these are repetitive issues. Food is amazing but definitely need to work on the bar service and being aware of the TV channels!

Worst. Service. Ever. I’m from out of town and was told that Nona’s had fantastic pizza. We decided to give it a try. We were set immediately as soon as we walked in. We were told a waitress would be right with us. We waited 15 minutes before a waitress acknowledged us. She then took our drink order and pizza. We waited another 15 minutes and never got our drinks(water and tea). We walked out. We then drove over to Ardovinos where we were immediately seated, served water, order taken and had our pizzas in 15 minutes. Will not be going back nor recommending Nona’s.

Today we ordered pizza’s for my work staff(Total of 8 Pizza’s). We normally order 8 – 10 pizza’s every other week and have no complaints until today. I drove to pick up our order just to find out when i got back to work that one of the Pizza’s was left uncut. I immediately called in to notify them of their error. I was speaking to a girl named Bianca that said she was the GM. She asked me if i can come by and bring the pizza to have them cut it. I explained that i was at work and my lunch was over so i would not be able to drive back and take the pizza. I asked if they could deliver me another pizza that was cut properly. She said they do not have drivers and could not fulfill my request. I then suggested if she can give me a replacement pizza and provide another for FREE due to their error, i could send someone over to get it. Her response was«I can send a driver over their with the pizza cutter to cut it for you». Really? And you are the GM? You obviously don’t know about customer service. I can go across the street to Andre’s pizza and use their pizza cutter if i needed to. It’s the principal of the matter that they made a mistake and need to make it up. I am not going to make my employees wait and serve them cold slices of pizza and wait for their driver to show up with a pizza cutter. We have spent a good amount of money their in the past, but it is no wonder why business is slowing down for them. We will not be stepping foot into this establishment and spending another dime here. They could have easily resolved this issue by offering a FREE pizza or some other ind of voucher/compensation. There are plenty of pizza places in town to choose from, but i will not do business with a company that does not care for their patrons. Don’t waste your time, don’t waste your money. Pizza is overrated and thei customer service is terrible. Never again.

Low prices, poor service, poor food quality, decent portions. Calamari was over fried and toasted bread on chicken parm was burnt. They offer a spicy version which is actually quite good. Came in on a Wednesday evening and they were greatly understaffed. Service was slow, asked for extra side of marinara but it never came. Waited so long sandwich got cold. Ended up asking for boxes to go to finish meal at home. Greatly disappointed. Will not be coming back.

Great selection of pizza. The staff is friendly yet a little overwhelmed the day we were there. We had the buffalo chicken pizza, which we enjoyed. The Greek salad was also very tasty and a good size. Good selection of beers. We will visit it again.

I’ve been looking forward to trying this place for quite a long time now, so my best pal and I went today for lunch. I decided to try the fried pickles and the chicken parm sandwich. When the pickles came, they were dry and the breading was falling off them. I went to dip one in the ranch – and that’s when I saw a small fly upside down, and dead in the ranch dressing. I called the waiter over and showed him, but he really didn’t seem overly concerned. He tried to tell me that it was a gnat, but I know what a fly looks like, and really, did it matter WHAT kind of gross bug was in my dressing? He brought me a new one but really didn’t seem all that concerned– he just sighed«Here. .. Jesus Christ!» The sandwich was sloppy and stuck to the bread, and the waffle fries were dry. What a disappointing meal! We won’t be returning. Maybe the manager should tell that waiter,(and i didn’t get his name, which I should have,) that when a customer tells you there’s a bug in their meal, you shouldn’t try to start a debate about what kind it is and be a little more concerned about it in the future!

We have always enjoyed the food and service at Nona’s. We live on the east side and have driven across town several times to have eat here. Yesterday we invited friends and family to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. We expected the great food and service we had always recieved. Instead, we received bad service and the pizza was not the same as other times. The crust was burnt and the toppings were minimal. Service was slow to nonexistent. I am aware that we were a large group, but we did call two days in advance to let them know so we would not catch them in the position of being understaffed. When we arrived, nobody on the Nona’s staff was expecting us. The server that was assigned to us was also the bartender. Needless to say, he quickly became overwhelmed. One thing we did notice is there was very little supervision. All the employees seemed to be scattered. There was not an employee visible that appeared to be above the age of 25. I am sad to say it will be a long time before we eat here again. I hope the east side location pays better attention to the small details that attracted us to the west side location.

Can’t beat Nona’s on a Tuesday. Dollar slices are 5pm and 2 dollar Shock Top masons. I love the atmosphere in this restarant it reminds me of Homeslice pizza in good ol’ Austin. the only complain I have is the seating. Their wooden benches are so uncomfortable but once I have a beer down I seem to forget…

First time here… we all enjoyed our food. Waffle nacho fries where yummy. The green chile pesto & jalapeño ranch was perfect. Waitress was pleasant. Prices are dencent. Big portions, we weren’t able to finish anything besides the nachos. And we came hungry.

I tried the meatball Sandwich for lunch and it was alright. At first I was excited about the hoagie style bread they served the meatballs in, but one bite in and I realized I was consuming a doughy white flour grocery store attempt at artisan craft. No bueno. The bartender/server asked me if I wanted any of the usual subway style fixings(bell peppars, jalapeños, etc). I opted for pepperoni and jalapeños. Aside from the bread failure, the sandwich was pretty good and the seasoning they use on the waffle fries made them above average. The place is a brick and mortar facility with a sports bar ambiance with a lot of T.V.s. If that’s your thing, you might enjoy hanging out here which may make you a little biased in your food review, which may fair well for Nona’s. As for myself, probably won’t return.

Our last experience at Nona’s Pizza was just that. our last! My husband and I originally went to Nona’s about a year ago. I had a greek salad and my husband had the meatball sandwich. We were in love. the salad was fresh(hard to find a fresh salad here in El Paso) and my husband said the meatballs were definitely made from scratch. We decided to go there this past Saturday and were totally disappointed. i ordered the Greek salad and my husband ordered the 6″ meatball sandwich. We waited an hour before I received my Greek Salad. The salad had changed a bit since the last time. it was straight out of a bag with a dollop of canned olives.4 cut cucumbers. a few pieces of cheese and no green onions. The lettuce was wilted.eww. The waiter stated that he was waiting for my husbands meatball sandwich to come up. it would be just a minute. After waiting an additional 20 minutes the waiter came back and said that they burned the bread so he sent it back. He asked if we wanted to speak with the manager. we said no. We waited an additional 10 minutes and the waiter came back with a basket of calamari to see if we wanted it. We said no. they were obviously burned and it wasn’t what we ordered. We waited an additional 15 minutes and the waiter FINALLY brought the meatball sandwich. He said he gave us a 12 inch instead of the 6 inch we ordered due to the wait. My husband looked down at his sandwich and the bread was NOT toasted and it was more of a bread sandwich. He tasted the meatballs and discovered that they were packaged meatballs… not freshly made at all. When it came time for us to leave I saw the waiter speaking to his manager. I saw him manager go to a closet and hand him a card. The waiter came back and said he had a free pizza gift card for us. He didn’t ask to take the meatball sandwich off of our bill. We both advised him that this would be our last time at Nona’s.we would NOT be returning. We told him to keep the gift card. We both questioned the unprofessionalism of the manager. Why didn’t he come over and apologize instead of walking by us every 5 minutes knowing that we had waited almost an hour and a half for a meatball sandwich and a greek salad. Before we went into Nona’s my husband said. I wonder if this is going to be yet another restaurant that we don’t go to in El Paso. sure enough it came to fruition. yet another restaurant in El Paso that lost a customer.

Neutral. Went first time. Did not have appetizers, salads on menu I went around 1020pm Tuesday night. Should say somewhere on the menu or Unilocal website only pizzas nothing more past a certain time. Plus I wanted to try their risotto but it was no longer offered on the menu even though Unilocal said yes. WORDOFADVISETONONAS ., people now a days use the Internet. So UPDATEYOURINFO

Just left this place after myself and friends tried to get the alcoholic milkshakes at 9:00 pm and were told that the ice cream machines had been turned off because they were going to close at 10 pm instead of their advertised 2 am. So we couldn’t get any milkshakes. Even if you’re closing at 10 pm why would you shut off the machines more than an hour earlier than you close? At $ 9 a milkshake I hope it was worth it to lose business to save those precious minutes to shut off the machines early. There were other patrons there too… You’re assuming not one of them wants a milkshake, or if they do, tough luck? Poor business decision.

I’m not particularly sure why I’ve held off so long on writing a review for Nona’s, but Nona’s, you’re a-okay in my book. And because I’ve frequented this establishment quite a bit, it’s entirely too hard to identify one specific venture that perfectly illustrates what to expect when at Nona’s so instead I’ll write this review as a guidebook. :WHATTOEXPECTWHENATNONA’S: — A guide to a pleasant experience at Nona’s Pizza Bar — Where should one sit when at Nona’s? – If your are in a group of 5 or larger(all 21 and over) find your way to a table. Service will suffer and no they haven’t forgotten you, it’s just the mere fact that there’s only 1 – 2 servers and there’s no real understanding of who’s table is who’s. – If you are in a group of 4 or smaller(all 21 and over) seat yourself at the bar! This is prime location! You’ll get your food pronto and drinks are just a flick of the wrist way. Also, you will never be forgotten. – If you are in any size group with anyone under 21, you have been forgotten. Don’t be afraid to wave down a waitress. What do I do while waiting for my pizza? – Those of us who know the words to every. freakin’.song. should make their way to the digital jukebox and immediately select 20 songs that only we know. You’re safe here, this is a judgement-free zone. – If you are between the ages of 4 and 45, have a minimum of one child, played Jenga as a child, or have a soul, make your way to the arcade area and drop a few quarters. – All sports enthusiast and fantasy league fanatics(no, they are not one in the same) should direct their gaze to the TVs at the bar. No volume, deal with it. What should I order? – You’re at a pizza place, order pizza. – Unless you can order the juicy meatballs, order meatballs. And pizza. – Get dessert. Any of them will do. *21 and over: Order a Shocktop or a Pineapple Sangria… you’re welcome. What day is the best day to go to Nona’s? – Any day is a good day to go to Nona’s. – Find out when they have $ 1 pizza night, cause you know…$ 1 pizza. Reference this guide as much as needed. Updates will be made periodically.

Went here for our date night. We wanted to try bratwurst and gringo pizza under budget and the waitress suggested getting two kids size pizza. brilliant! As a starter, we got the bomb dip and white sangria. Probably the best part of the meal. Bomb dip?! It really is the bomb. I love love love the fact that they had low carb option of cucumber slices AND they did half cucumber half chips for us. Kudos for restaurants that are flexible for the crowd! Also white wine sangria! What do they put in there? Probably something that is closed to crack. It was sweet, sparkly, and fruity… With no bad after taste! Yum! Pizzas: very simple. I think because we got kids version we might have gotten more bread: topping ratio… I like that they werent too salty but maybe on the bland side due to lack of toppings. I think they should have thin crust option. Overall, toppings were alright. Maybe I should try an adult slice… My fiancé liked the pizzas tho. He likes bread. ;)

Well, I was hesitant after reading couple of reviews. Some were just 7 hours old, but we decided to give it a try. Glad we did. It may not be the best pizza in El Paso but it wasn’t bad at all. We had chorizo pizza and peperoni pizza, both were excellent. And tcustomer service was great. The music was loud but it worked for mw since I had my my year old screaming her lungs out lol O_o Will definitely go back! Bath best sangria I’ve had in El Paso!

After my visit to Nona’s last night, I felt compelled to write a scathing one-star review, but after counting to ten, I’ve reconsidered. Zero stars for the bad experience and lack of sympathy from the server and four stars for the pizza. After calling in a to-go order at 5:50 p.m. and being told that the order would be ready in 20 minutes, I arrived to pick up my order(4 pizzas, two salads) at about 6:15. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a bar tender/server who informed me the order wasn’t quite ready – no problem – I went ahead and paid for the order on my credit card and waited… and waited… and waited… while my guests at home waited… and waited… and waited. Nona’s was not overly crowded – Sunday night, no major sporting events, half full. I did notice however the Hessian music at high volume and the«pre-school-cum-Biker Bar» attitude of the place. Equal number of toddlers as hipster/biker/heavy drinking types. Not sure what they’re going for here. Head banging music meets kiddie-game center. But I digress. While reviewing the receipt, I noticed the lady who took my order on the phone got a couple items wrong. Really? Maybe TURNTHEMUSICDOWNIFYOU’REGOINGTOTAKEPHONEORDERS! When the order was finally assembled(about 50 minutes after placing the order), I’m already felling like Leo Getz(Lethal Weapon 2): «They FUCKYOU at the drive-thru, okay? They FUCKYOU at the drive-thru! They know you’re gonna be miles away before you find out you got fucked! They know you’re not gonna turn around and go back, they don’t care. So who gets fucked? Ol’ Leo Getz! Okay, sure! I don’t give a fuck! I’m not eating this tuna, okay?» I open the pizza boxes to find NOTONE of them was as ordered. Turns out the guy assembling the order is just randomly grabbing pizza boxes and stacking them and handing them to me. While I’m shaking my head in disbelief, I notice the pizza guy in the back with ear-buds in his ears, enjoying himself a little too much. Apparently he didn’t dig the Hessian music being cranked through the bar’s speaker system any more than me – nor could he communicate with anyone else in the place to avoid the major cluster f*ck he was laying on me while my guests at home were getting hungry. The two salads – oh, they got those wrong, too. I ordered a «chopped» Greek salad, but since the lady couldn’t hear me on the phone over the Motorhead, she thought I said, «Chicken Caesar salad», which is actually what was on the receipt, too. I had also ordered the Veggie salad(which is on their website’s menu), but was informed they no longer make the Veggie salad. Seriously? If you change your menu, update your website! So John Geske is supposed to be this restaurant guru in El Paso, but this experience was just horrible, despite the great pies. There are lots of great pies in El Paso now, so I will have a very difficult time returning here, barring a serious reply from the Manager or St. John himself.
