I was in downtown for a conference at the Plaza, and decided to have lunch here. Quaint and pleasant atmosphere in the heart of downtown. Food was good, and prices are reasonable. Worth checking out. The lady who took my order was very cheerful and friendly. At the end of our meal she offered us coupons for our next visit. Enjoyed our meal and I would definitely visit again!

Super good garden panini and potato salad, chocolate covered pretzels weren’t bad at all

Stopped in for lunch today, my first. They have panini lunch specials everyday. Tried the chipotle chicken panini, gotta say it was pretty good, the chicken was plentiful and the cheese was melted on. It was really warm however the chipotle, in my opinion, it coulda been spicier, oh and maybe some avocado. Not to bad and comes with a bag of chips and a drink, all for 7 bucks with tax. Won’t be the last time I step in for lunch.

Was around downtown and decided to go here for some dessert on a REALLYHOT day! The shop is very dainty and cute. I like how it looked. It definitely felt like a specialty ice cream and candy shop. Along one of the walls is a plethora of mexican candies, some I haven’t seen before! It was a really a joy to see! I ordered a strawberry shake and my boyfriend ordered a mango slush. Both were good and satisfying for such a hot day! The strawberry shake was quite sweet, but creamy, smooth, and fresh! The mango slush was OK. It wasn’t too sweet and mainly tasted like ice to me, which is probably because I had such a sweet drink to begin with! The ice cream they had was mainly Blue Bunny ice cream, which you can get in the common grocery store, so it wasn’t super special, which was why I opted for a shake. I wish they made their own ice cream! But anyway, it’s a cute place and it has decent ice cream and candy. Come by if you’re around!

OK, this place is absolutely amazing. I had seen this place before right across the street from my job but never thought about stepping in. Wish I had alot sooner! This place is exactly what it says it is. It’s a corner ice cream shop, candy shop and where you can get an awesome panini. It has some really cool Coca Cola décor and a large candy wall with a variety of candy. I had a banana shake which caused my tastebuds to throw a massive party. Definitely recommend this place if you have a sweet tooth.

I thought this little place was strictly desserts but it turns out they have lunch as well! Fast and friendly service, this place is ideal for an afternoon date. Just had the Oreo shake and it’s absolutely delicious!

My goal in life is to try absolutely every restaurant in Texas(I figure that’s a more reasonable goal than an entire country) and I like to believe I’m making headway here in El Paso. There’s another check-mark next to Sweet Corner and a special place in my heart. A much younger Freckles used to live in a small town called Viroqua, WI and had a serious love for Dahl Pharmacy(which is apparently now closed… bummer). I think what was most fascinating for me was the history. The whole malt shop thing just captured my imagination… thus my affinity for old school pharmacies was born. I never got to see Dahl Pharmacy in all it’s glory, but I imagined it every.single.time. I walked in and bought an over priced candy bar with my hard earned money(I was a cliché and had a paper route as a kid so yes, MY hard earned money). Fast forward 10+ years, here I am knocking places off my Unilocal bookmarks and I chose Sweet Corner for absolutely no apparent reason… had I read the one review that’s currently up I probably would’ve chose Kipp’s or something. But no, I went into Sweet Corner blindly and I can now happily say I’ve successfully found another EP5 star gem(not hidden… just a gem). SC is everything I want in a malt shop minus the whole pharmacy part, but I never really cared about the drugs anyway. Ice cream and candy and shakes and paninis and salads and coke and awesome vintage décor. SC is my imagination come to life! It’s totally a kiddie heaven with all the candy that lines the right wall, but it’s the adults that actually appreciate SC for everything that it offers. Throughout my hour stay at SC people continually came in, but I was the sole patron that actually sat and ate. The Double TB Panini is loaded with ham, melted cheese, bacon and some veggies. It comes with a side of chipotle sauce that you can lather you sandwich in or do the lazy thing like me and just dip it. I’ll definitely order it again, but not before I’ve tried every other panini here. The bread it was on was perfect as well… like a whole wheat concoction with ridges and the perfect combination of crisp and soft. The paninis are a must! I went with the potato salad for my side and it’s another hit. Sweet with a touch of mustard without being overbearing. So fricken good! Everyone was super friendly to me and the other patrons that came for a to-go meal. Even the customers were out of this world friendly… smiles, good mornings and all that jazz. My order was taken swiftly and was served in under 10 minutes(obviously there would probably be more of a wait during their busier times). Make the trip, it’s totally worth it! Fulfill your malt shop dreams!
