Loved, loved, loved my dining experience! We lived overseas and have had tapas from Portugal and Spain and now being stationed in EP, really did not expect to see a tapas restaurant here. We had the bacon wrapped dates(OMG!!! So delicious!), Brussels sprouts, steak, honey glazed salmon, baked goat cheese, and gambas. Everything we ordered was fantastically delicious! Each plate came out in a timely manner, with a good overlap – just as we were on tbe tail end of the previous dish, the next arrived. This is how it’s done overseas, so I was happy that they are being true to form. Our waitress was awesome – very helpful in her recommendations and attentiveness. The ambience is laid back, very modern, truly a nice place to chill and enjoy good food. Plus, even though it is a tapas bar, portion sizes were«substantial«enough to leave both my husband and I full, and I ended up taking home the remainder of our last dish. If you haven’t tried this place yet, please do!

My friend and I have recently been here and the food cause my taste buds to have a party in my mouth! The cheese plate was divine! We followed ot with some Papas bravas, pork belly wraps, duck, and bruchetta. Everything was so flavorful, so decedent and so delicious! The only thing I would suggest on a personal not is to jave all the tapas come out at the same time instead of one at a time. Thank you for a wonderful experiance.

Coming from Austin, I’ve had my share of culinary experiences. When visiting EP last fall, I was in desperate need of a fantastic meal — TAPAS? — Yes, please as I danced in my hotel room. Cozy and calm, I got nothing but positive vibes from this beautiful restaurant and our server was incredibly sweet and attentive. My friend and I started with the simple salad and the papas bravas and unfortunately whoever was in charge of seasoning had an incredible heavy hand. It was SO salty, I wanted to cry because everything was prepared to perfection besides that. I really don’t like to complain so I settled. Near the end of the meal, I politely let our server know that the food was on the salty side and she should let the chef or whoever know. She apologized and wanted to comp the plates or gives us new plates and I refused. I just wanted them to be aware in the future and that it was OK. She gave us a plate of churros on the house and joked how they were sweet and not salty — sure enough and they were to die for. She really didn’t have to, it was way sweet of her to do, and I appreciate it. The service was amazing. If I could go back to give it another try I most certainly would. (I also had the Mussels plate and it was perfect) Despite the salt mishap, I would recommend this place — especially for an intimate evening with your loved one or friends.

Good luck trying to find a restaurant that is this much of a culinary experience in El Paso. From the drinks to the dessert this place delivers in every way possible. Definitely take friends or family from out of town here. They wont be expecting much as Tabla is on another level compared to many other places here. Ask your waiter or waitress for their recommendations, we did and ended up with the baked goat cheese which may or may not have had me near tears.

I figured I would like Tabla since its owned by the same person who owns Ode(and I love Ode’s food). Tabla as you’ve probably figured out from other reviews is a Tapas place. There isn’t a huge list of food options to choose from but I didnt have a bad dish. We tried the sliders(these were awesome and I am seriously craving them as I write this review), the bacon wrapped dates(small but oh so good), the baked cheese with ciabatta(need those filling carbs), and the gumbo like rice seafood dish(can’t remember name). The food came out quickly, service was attentive and the drinks were ordered were pretty solid. I got the pomengranata mojito which was different but very good. The interior of the restaurant has a lot of class and personality. I like that they have a good varieyt in table sizes and the small 2 person tables near the bar are great for sneaky people watching(er…you know you do it). Plus, once your done eating on your swank date you can go get your drank on at Dark Horse next door.

Quit place with outstanding food. I believe El Paso as a city is a small and quiet place, but the beer on tap is decent and the food was outstanding. I had a good time, but it’s quiet and limited in spaces available at the bar. I’d recommend trying it

As others have noted, this place is hard to find. Park on the street or in the lot near the stadium and walk through the alley to find it. Food was decent but pricey. I think they should focus less on making hip dishes and more on making sure they’re knocking it out of the park with each one. Everything was fine but nothing stood out, certainly not for the price. My experience with these newer restaurants in El Paso is that they focus a lot on making a cool menu with a trendy atmostphere and not enough on the food itself.

Husband and I had lunch. I had a box($ 14) consisting of pork, the orange and beet salad and cauliflower. Husband had beef and a cranberry juice. Orange and beet salad was delicious. Both meats were good. The cauliflower was fine. And the cranberry juice was also really good. We spent $ 30 and I swear I left there almost as hungry as when I arrived. The waitress did inform us before we ordered that the portions were small but I guess I wasn’t prepared to spend $ 50 for lunch that day. Food was good, service was good. Pricey.

I dig this place. The staff are awesome and they are friendly. I have tried almost everything on the menu here and I would recommend sharing some bites with your group. The place is meant for having some drinks and pairing it to the tapas. I think my favorite dish here is the quail. I have had that to myself 3 times. I can’t share that so don’t make me rage like a wild Viking on your booty! They have live music at certain times. A place you can go casual or dressy. A mash up of connoisseurs and hipsters. I think they could expand the craft beer menu, but they offer some decent options. *This place is hard to find. So if you or your friends are confused: Park in the public parking lot on Anthony St. and walk down the alley.

My most favorite restaurant in all of El Paso. What a gem. From the absolutely scrumptious and decadent and well-crafted and beautifully-presented food, to the fantastic cocktails, to the live music and ambiance(great décor and super cute outdoor patio!), this is one not to miss. It’s a step up from the rest without being too in-your-face about it. The service is stellar, the parking is easy, the owner is a total sweetheart and makes sure you are enjoying yourself — and his concept is so well-executed. Check out their sister brewery, Ode, too!

The night ambiance is perfect for a date. The food and drinks were so good. I think my favorite was the Pinchos, we also had the Brussel Spouts and the Patatas Bravas which were delicious as well. For dessert, the Pistachio Crème Brulee was sublime. One of my favorite spots in the area.

A day before I arrived here, I just happen to talk to someone from El Paso and he recommended this place based on proximity to the hotel I was going to stay. Arriving at the restaurant around 6pm, couldn’t find this place. GPS is taking me one way street with no sign of the restaurant. I finally called them to get direction. I explained what I see and she asked me if I see brick building and she came out of the restaurant and I finally found a lady waving her hand. She recommend where to park… Park on Anthony St. Parking is free after 6pm, then walk less than one min. I always liked Spanish tapas. I think I already reviewed several other tapas place somewhere around the world. Based on other Unilocal reviews, I ordered Brussels sprouts. I highly recommend ordering this well flavored dish. Bacon dates, I had them better, they were not bad but just average. A few other dishes I tried, one that wasn’t on the menu yet, I enjoyed the nice mixture of Mexican, Spanish and Italian. Overall it wasn’t Basque pintxos I’ve had before as the chef added Texan or Mexican flavor to their dishes. I enjoyed all of them but I wished I was able to order a glass of wine. All of them are meant to pair with alcohol drinks. Too bad I had to work that night. Service was okay. Perhaps she is still new there and learning. If I have chance I will come back again but I will pick a night when I can enjoy my drinks

I will start off by saying I didn’t try the food here i only came for the bar. Will definitely update my review for the food. However for now the bar was pretty awesome. The location of this place is convenient in downtown Union Plaza. The interior is very dim and intimate. I couldn’t help but think this is a great place for a date. We were allowed to sit anywhere on the bar and i have to say their selection of beers and wine is great for how small it is. A lot of their mixed drinks have twists that they’ve created and the bartender was very knowledgable about everything on the menu. Even when my beer of choice was done he was able to change the keg, wait till the foam settled, and even offered something while i waited. Can’t ask for better bartending than that!

Service was great. The place has a romantic ambience to it. I wasn’t that impressed with the food. It’s good but not anything out of this world. The presentation of the food is nice though. I felt each dish was very sweet and/or greasy. Between my friend we ordered the pork bellies, gnocchi, the duck, and we still ended our meal with dessert. I enjoyed the pork bellies the most. Keep in mind portions are small and it’s best to make it a feast and share plates. Overall, I didn’t think this place was exceptional. It’s was good.

The restaurant looks like it belongs in a city with its modern theme and classy appeal. The staff are friendly. There is a patio area as well. The string lights in the courtyard are romantic. The food is great too! At first glance, the prices are a little high but the taste packs a punch. Although you typically share dishes here, some portions are not very large so you may want to ask your server about it before you order. For example, the bacon dates plate come with five or six small pieces. As everyone says though, they are quite delicious and worth trying at least once. As a group, splitting the check will come to a reasonable total but if you are a couple with big appetites, you can easily rack up quite the bill with tip. For those wanting to try something sweet, go for the molten lava brownie. It is literally one of the BEST desserts I have ever had in a restaurant. It seriously is worth coming here just for that! Made in house too. There is also a nice choice of adult beverages. The cocktails could use a little bit of improvement though. We ordered specialty drinks because they were out of sangria last time, but the drinks were not not mixed well and had too much syrup. Tabla does currently do Wine Wednesday(half off wine) and you can bring your pet on the patio! Yes!
