Went in here a few weeks ago looking at trunk mounted bike racks. Decided to go home and read some more reviews on various brands and styles online. Ended up deciding on installing a hitch and a hitch mounted bike rack. Went back here and spoke to Chris, he helped me the first time and remembered me. Asked him about a certain rack, he looked and said it wasn’t in stock but he could order it and it would be in in a week. The rack came in less than a week later, Chris called and said the rack was in and to come pick it up anytime. I went to the store to pick up the rack, Chris was busy but Frank helped me. He assembled the rack and installed it on my SUV while explaining the process of installation and features of the rack. I brought my bike along with me to put on the rack to get an idea of how it would ride. Frank helped to make sure the bike was secure on the rack. As he did this, he asked me how I liked my hybrid bike. I said I liked it and was thinking about a mountain bike for riding the trails here in El Paso. Instead of trying to sell me another bike, Frank suggested I could just swap out the wheel/tire assemblies to mountain bike units to save money. He explained the process to me and gave me a ballpark figure on cost. I appreciate him giving other options than merely buying another bike. It’s the little things like this and the friendly atmosphere that will make me a repeat customer. One thing I noticed is that all customers are greeted after arriving at the store. They stock high end bikes as well as entry level bikes. There’s something here for everyone. I wish I would’ve known about them sooner.

What’s with the long faces? There location was convenient to me so I started giving them my bicycle business. I ride my bicycles a lot and spend piles of money on them, and Bicycle Company got a lot of mine. It’s important to me that I feel acknowledged as a customer, and that I have a good experience while I’m there. It’s the small things, a hello with a smile, a thank you after the purchase and how about a little help me with the door as I leave with my bike? Not here, none of those. Long faces, no thank you and they even stood three feet away and watched me struggle to get my bike through their small door(not once, five times). The front door has one of those auto closers causing it to clamp your bike in it as you try to get it through, it’s a two man job. I kept thinking I caught everyone in a bad mood and kept giving them another chance for redemption, each time returning and spending an average of $ 200.00. Yesterday was the last straw. I took my bike in for a tune up, and afterwards had the same exact problem, so I took it back again. While I was there I bought new tires, tubes and pedals. Low and behold, they charged me for another tune up and and a frigging fortune to install the pedals and tires. I did eventually but begrudgingly get refunded for the re-tune up, but it was with some huffing and puffing, and then a no «thank you» as I left(still spent $ 180.00). So, good by Bicycle Company and hello Crazy Cat, maybe they’l think I’m worthy.

I had a very good experience at this bike shop. They have a great selection of bikes for all ages, skill levels, and life styles, with good prices(considering the quality of the bikes and service). The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, and they back the bikes with extras like free tunes ups within the first few months of ownership. Other bike shops I visited seemed to cater strictly to avid cyclists shopping for high end bikes, and while the bicycle company has plenty of high end bikes to choose from, they also stock several more affordable options and styles. If you’re in the market for a good quality bicycle, this place is worth a visit.
