This place is precious! The tea selection is impressive and the atmosphere is very relaxing and chic.

I loved this place several years ago and when the army took my husband to Hawaii, I figured I could find the same kind of store there. I was wrong! Now, passing through El Paso, I had to stop and get my favorite Gunpowder Green Tea!!! Truly love this little shop!

Tippi Teas is a wonderful and charming little teahouse that offers a plethora of teas in numerous drink options, it’s easy to see why everyone who visits here falls in love with the place. I had the opportunity to finally visit when I was summoned by Unilocal Overlord Tanya W. to discuss the super secret Unilocal agenda, and I instantly liked the place. I was faced with a wall full of different tea options, it would’ve been intimidating but luckily the tea barista helped me select just the perfect tea for discussing super secret things, a jasmine infused green tea called Jazzy something. I naturally arrived at a rare tea because I’m a classy and sophisticated fellow. The tea is brewed in a super cool thingy that allows you to pour perfectly from the bottom. They also give you a nifty hourglass so that you can let your tea brew for just the right amount of time. Seating area is small, but cozy, perfect for talking to friends or unwinding with a good book.

My idea of tea is usually a boba tea. That’s the only kind I drink when I go out… I skip the iced tea at restaurants. This place has opened my mind to different kinds. The first trip I had an orange matcha shake. It was really refreshing, however the matcha was a little to bitter for my taste. The second trip, I had two teas, iced. The first was a strawberry tea. It was a nice subtle strawberry flavour with am interesting. Seaweedy aftertaste. My favorite part is the teapot, which you put over your glass and it releases the liquid with a minor press. Groovy! The other tea is the one I would come back for. The coconut chai is SO good. It’s earthy with a clove accent. I almost bought some loose to bring home, but I wasn’t heading right home. Two other small things. The tea-ristas(?) are very knowledgeable. If you tell them how you feel or what flavours you like, they can recommend a drink for you. Also, this place is quite cozy… Alright, small. If you have a group of more than four, this is really not the place to go.

Tippi Teas makes me feel classic. I love that feeling. It’s a comfortable enough spot that casually lounging on their worn couch while reading a novel and sipping a warm tea is never out of the question. Doniphan isn’t the most beautiful street in EP, but there’s this one wonderful hidden spot on Doniphan that’s filled with antique stores, craft stores, the Magic Bistro(which truly is a magic bistro) and that’s exactly where you’ll find Tippis. If you haven’t been to this area yet, I implore you to spend a weekend here eating, sipping and shopping. I finally had to make a real pit stop at Tippis. I’d been once before and just quickly perused the offerings because I was being rushed by a friend. This time around I decided to pack up my laptop and just enjoy Tippis. There were two young ladies with big smiles working when I went in and a couple of fellow Millennials sharing ideas about something or other. My kind of people. It all felt very welcoming. I’d been hearing all this buzz about Matcha and how people are going crazy for it because it’s super cheap(at a certain unnamed establishment) and has a ridiculous amount of health benefits so when I saw they offered about three different Matcha tea smoothies, I figured«Why not?» I had no idea what Matcha really was, what it tasted like, or if I’d even like it, but in the hands of tea spirit guide like TT, I felt safe in my leap of faith. I quickly ordered an Orange Tea Matcha Smoothie on said whim. I don’t want to get too much into Matcha more than I already have because it isn’t like Tippi Teas grows the stuff themselves, but it has a flavor. I can’t exactly put it into words other than to say it tastes subtly green. I really enjoyed this«smoothie». It’s a tea smoothie so it was more a tea with additions than what one might think as a typical smoothie, but it made sense for the flavors. Orange without being super acidity, a little mellowed out really. I think someone who has a huge aversion to orange juice would even enjoy this drink. I ended up spending a couple of hours in this little room they have towards the back using their wi-fi(yes, they have free wi-fi). I chose a little wooden table that was next to a couple good sized rock formations that were beautiful, but way more than I could afford for a rock centerpiece. Very comfortable area. And I adore how bright and inviting the area is. I love the bar seating that faces out to the windows. I also decided to grab a blueberry bread. Pretty scrumptious. Sweet and a good amount of blueberries riddled throughout. This added to the«classic feeling»… eating a breakfast pastry with my tea. Great place to meet up with friends, take a moment for yourself, or get some work done. Wonderful variety of teas available. Quiet spot. And they’re right next to shopping and eating.

I saw this place on Unilocal and thought it looked like a cool place to grab something to drink. We drove over from the hotel. I missed Tippi Teas and drove right past it. We came back around and found it. Just look for a huge Carribean Blue Gate and you will find this place. Before you enter, there is a bench outside and next to it is a mailbox with books. The sign said, «Take a book, leave a book». Nice idea. We were travelling, so we didn’t have a book to leave, so we didn’t take a book. I really thought that the décor was interesting. Very eclectic & cozy! They have lots of loose leaf teas in clear glass jars that you can view. There are a few rooms to sit in and enjoy yourself. My daughter ordered Matcha Latte(hot), and she really didn’t like it. She added honey to sweeten it, but it was still not something she liked. She said it tasted muddy. The lady at the counter said they get their Matcha straight from Japan. I ordered the Pecan Party, a smoothie. Lots of great ingredients, but it wasn’t something I’d order again, either. It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t what I thought it was going to be. There are items for sale here besides drinks. You can buy teapots, tea cups, mugs, & candles. Not sure what else since we didn’t stay too long. I think I would order a hot tea if I were ever in this area and looking for a drink. I really think that might be their specialty.

If it’s just buying tea then 5 stars. I bought a tea canister for $ 33. Turns out the friend I wanted to get this for already had one so I wanted to return it. I show up and am told store credit only… that’s cool, it’s a small business, I get it. Unfortunately both employees at the store don’t know how to process returns so I have to come back another time. Fast-forward to a few days later, I get store credit… however(and this is horrible business IMO), I have to use the store credit right then and there! You’re a awesome tea place… why can’t I just get store credit in a gift card to buy more tea over time? They don’t have gift cards. If you go for just the tea then 5 stars. Don’t go there to buy anything as a gift for someone unless you know they are obsessed with tea. The product and personalities(owner) are great, the process is ‘bad business’ in situations like mine. :/

This is now one of my favorite tea places around. I’ve been here quite a few times and everything is of high quality. They have some really unique tea blends here that I have not had anywhere else. I have also bought the Red Coco tea and the Coconut Chai in loose leaf form so I could drink them at home. They make great gifts too. Both are great with milk and or honey. My one complaint is that when I asked for milk to add to my tea while hanging out there, they only had almond milk available. Unfortunately, almond milk just does not cut it if you are going for a bit of a British style tea(sorry vegans!). Don’t get me wrong, I can also be a purist when it comes to tea, but there are times you just want an added element with tea. One other thing that I am not too sure about here is the use of plastic tea brewing devices. In one sense they are fantastic, but in another sense I am not sold on the idea of using plastic with anything hot period. I saw that these plastic containers are BPA free, however with recent reports of BPA not being the only possibly harmful plastic material, I’m just not that comfortable with the use of these containers for hot liquids. Until I am convinced that this material is safe with hot liquids, I will stick with their other drinks offered here instead. Unfortunately I just cannot see them working well as a glass material which is a real bummer. Other than a few things I’m not so sure about right now, this is a really great place. The décor is nice and the people working at the counter have always been nice and helpful. Their smoothies are good too. The matcha peppermint smoothie is especially delicious. Great place overall if you enjoy good drinks and a nice atmosphere.

I have never written a review on Unilocal, but today that ends after having such as positive experience at Tippi. I’m back in ELP for a few days feeling a little sick from the weather and I needed a place to get out it the house and away from family for a while and tippi was nearby(though this place certainly justifies a drive). The super chill owner walked me through the menu, which had a rich assortment of loose teas, matchas, and all natural smoothies. It’s great to see ELP have such a unique establishment. Go support local!

It’s been a couple days since I was here, but my memory of this place certainly hasn’t faded. This place is great. Very extensive loose-leaf tea selection, the girl behind the counter gives great recommendations on tea based on your taste preferences and you can vary the sweetness with agave, honey, or your typical sugar packets. The prices are right along the lines of a starbucks drink, not extravagant. I, unfortunately, do not live here, but my girlfriend does, and she’s already been back in the 2 days since I left –_– To quote the Schwarzenegger, «I’LLBEBACK» :)

The place to go if you want to hang out with your bff and talk your heart out… especially for you soldiers/men that love to have those deep long heart opening chats like us girls do :-)). Well if you are not into long discussions, then the place is good for studying, relaxing and savor a perfect cup of tea… delicious, refreshing, healthy & relaxing. Plenty choices of tea mixes…

Tippi knows how to do tea! Great selection, unique(this kinda stuff exists in El Paso??), & relaxing atmosphere. There isn’t a huge coffee or tea culture/presence in El Paso, or it’s just now growing. or I’ve been living under a rock. Any way, I can only think of a handful of local coffee shops and two tea houses, Tippi’s being one. What a great bonus for this little city. I was able to smell several teas until I selected the Coconut Chai(served hot, no sugar or honey). It’s a small place, but like others’ve mentioned, a great spot to get work done or recharge your introverted self. Quieter than a typical coffee shop for sure. There isn’t much seating, but there are several tables separated in four different open rooms. There’s a blue couch in the first room past the main area where you purchase your tea, and everywhere is art, geodes, and little plants. It’s a cute space, and very relaxing of you don’t mind the smell of incense. In addition to the huge selection of teas and their wall display — which reminded me of the popular Canadian chain, David’s Tea — I loved their neat-o tea infusers and the mini timer provided to guide how long to steep your tea! Tippi Teas is easy to miss if you’re coming from Mesa, but it’s well worth a Uturn.

Absolutely wonderful. Make sure to ask the guy about what type of tea you feel like(vanilla one, a good pick me up, «focus enhancers» or even aphrodesiacs). He is an expert like no other. I think he mixes the tea himself as well. Serve the tea after its brewing by putting it on top of the glass!

Drove past Tippi Teas on Doniphan and the whole shopping area is charming. There are lots of varieties of green, white, black, dark, ayurvedic and herbal teas. The teas are lined up on a wall and you can smell and ask Jose the uses for each tea. There’s choices of matcha combo smoothies(matcha/hemp, matcha/acai, etc) that are very delicious and made with almond milk. You buy tea to enjoy in the store or in to-go cup. I really liked that a lot of the teas are blended by Tippi Tea, you have an option to choose between agave, local or organic honey. Jose was very friendly — he took the time to answer all of our questions. Overall, Tippi Tea is an awesome tea spot.
