2nd visit to Sid’s and just as good as the first. Great staff, decent prices, great location and atmosphere. Most importantly, great burgers and fries! I had the King with the works and a half basket of fries(which is twice the size of a regular order of fries). I would rank Sid’s as happy the second best burger Ive ever had.

The place was packed on a Saturday afternoon, so we sat outside. We were greeted warmly at the counter. They were out of onion rings. Fried onion burgers were delicious. Fries good, but needed salt. Shakes good. We will be back!

Stopped in the drive up this afternoon and ordered a king burger deluxe with fried onions and mayo, lettuce, tomato, and cheese. Definitely should have gotten a double, but I’m a pretty big eater. The patty was a little small but as a whole the burger was delicious. The fried onions really made this burger what it was. If you are passing by El Reno it is definitely worth the trip off I-40. Didn’t try the fries, maybe on my way back to Cali, heard good things.

If you’re looking for the the truest version of the Oklahoma onion burger, Sid’s is hard to beat in terms of quantity — there’s more onions on there than meat. And yeah, a lot of them are well into the realm of «burnt,» though many of them are not, so you take a bite and you get some of that bitterness from the burned onions plus some of the sweetness from the non-burned onions and it all comes together to complement the rest of the otherwise solid burger. For whatever TV shows and newspapers have sung Sid’s praises, what’s most impressive is how smoothly they still manage the very small diner. Sit at the counter and watch the level of efficiency going on at the grill as they pump out burger after burger after burger. And everyone — from the cooks to the waitresses — seem genuinely happy with what they do. It makes the entire experience all the better. When you can still rub elbows with the old-time regulars getting their usuals, you know Sid’s hasn’t forgotten where they came from.

What a great burger. Had their onion burger and it was loaded with onions and flavor. My beloved had their world famous milk shake and it lived up to its reputation, enough for both of us. We would definitely go back.

This is a neat little place that we visit whenever we travel through Oklahoma. We have probably eaten at Sid’s about five or six times. We learned about it in an issue of Saveur Magazine. Sid’s has apparently also been featured on some Food Channel shows. The onion burgers are really tasty. You have a choice of raw onions or fried onions. The fried onions are pressed into the meat during cooking. You can add cheese, lettuce and tomato, or all. We always order the burgers without buns and we get more than enough to eat. There is counter seating, where you can watch the cooks making the burgers, or you can sit at a table. It is a small place. We always try to sit at the counter. If you want fries, the«half order» is ridiculously large. We share a half order and still leave at least half behind. They are thin and crispy fries with skins on, and served very hot from the fryer. Condiments are ketchup, mustard, and mayo, all in squeeze bottles. Apparently, back in the days of the great depression, onion burgers came about so as to stretch the more expensive ground beef. The tradition lives on as a local favorite. If you are looking for«gourmet» type burgers, this is probably a little different(although I think you can get a variety of toppings). I bought a Sid’s coffee mug, and use it almost every day. Sid’s used to be cash only but recently they started accepting credit cards which is handy.

This is the quintessential Oklahoma food stop! OK is known for their onion burgers, and this place is #1! Don’t just trust me, trust Food Network… Sid’s made«Top 5» burgers INTHECOUNTRY! The ownership and staff are friendly, the small-town diner is quaint, and most importantly, the burgers are amazing! Sit at the counter to watch the magic unfold :)

This is a decent little place. It’s tiny inside so don’t be shocked if there is literally no place to sit. They are kind of expensive but I stop there every time I go to El Reno. I’m really particular about onions on my burger so I don’t get the onion burger from here. To me, the onions are badly burnt. Half of them are black and dry, and the other half are almost raw. They say they are caramelized, but caramelized onions should be golden and slightly soft with a slight crunch when cooked correctly. The burgers themselves are really good. The fries are good too and all the employees are friendly. Bring cash or a check. They don’t accept any debit or credit cards here.

Im not sure I consider this a top 5 burger in America, but what do I know? It was a good burger, I have absolutely no complaints… I can kick myself for not getting a double meat, but that was my fault. Just know, the meat is super thin, so you may want 2 – 3 patties to really get the full burger effect. But as far as onion burgers go, this is probably the best one Ive had. Id come back if I was in the neighborhood.

Made a stop by Sid’s after camping at Red Rock Canyon. Breakfast King burger with cheese and tots was just as tasty as expected. They have expanded their menu since my last stop so I was pleasantly surprised with their breakfast menu. Eggs over easy were spot on, hash was buttery and the bacon was thick and to die for! Loved their picnic bench covered patio area since we still had the schnauzer covered in dirt and we hadn’t bathed in days. Wonderful little patio with full service!

Stopped in here on my way from Las Vegas to Michigan, and the cozy seating allowed for interaction with other patrons and the busy working staff. I have never had a burger without a bun, and this was fantastic! The onions made the perfect fusion between the beef, and I was glad that I visited here to see the last of the small town Americana food establishments still in existence. Large wall of military photos from customers who served, and another large global map to put a pin of where you live to show how many around the world have visited this small eatery with a huge following. I will definitely visit here if I am anywhere nearby…

I went here for lunch while I was working in El Reno. Make sure you bring cash! It’s cash and checks only, no debit cards. I got the Deluxe cheeseburger with bacon and a half order of fries. The burger was awesome! Very juicy and oniony and the bacon was cooked the way I like it as well. The half order of fries is still way too much for any one person to eat! I recommend getting a ¼ order. The fries were decent, nothing special. I think next time I’m just going to stick to the burger! Overall, I enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it! They also have a drive-thru!

El Reno is the onion burger capital, and rightfully so! Sid’s is definitely the most popular, because I think it’s been featured on a couple Food Network specials. It’s definitely the place to go if you’re looking for a cute, old fashioned-style diner. I had the regular fried onion cheeseburger, tator tots and a peanut butter banana shake. It was all great, and the shake was DELICIOUS and worth the splurge for dessert with my lunch. I would say I like Robert’s down the road better, BUT Sid’s is definitely nicer and cleaner if that is important to you. From what I’ve heard, both the other El Reno options are small, a bit dingy and smoky. So if you’re looking for a good onion burger with a cleaner atmosphere, Sid’s is for you. If you’re down for the old diner experience, I’d recommend Robert’s. Having said that, as far as I know, there are no old-school shakes at Robert’s so Sid’s definitely has the one-up there!

I was very excited about coming here. It had been 3 years since my last visit to El Reno for an onion burger. The line was out the building, but it is a very small building. It is nice that the have tables with a shed that provides shade outside and they bring the food to you, but the wait was pretty long. I personally like Johnny’a down the road better(that’s the one I went to 3 years ago). My party was dry and lacked flavor. It is almost like they were too busy and were not paying attention to the way the burger was being cooked… I don’t know. All the customers seemed satisfied and spoke highly of the place and the quality. I guess that I built my expectations too high and were not met. Also, I had told my friend these were supposed to be one of the top 5 burgers in the country(saw that online) and his expectations were not met either. Tots were really good! That I would highly recommend. I went with half an order and it was enough for two as a side. My wife had a regular cheese burger with onions + lettuce, tomatoes, no pickles, ketchup, mayo and mustard. Hers was better than mine… But all the extra stuffed rested from the whole fried-onion-burger-experience. I will go back next week to El Reno, but I don’t know if I will take my family here or to Johnny’s

I had seen this diner on Roadside America and was particularly interested in stopping after learning it was on Man vs. Food. We squeezed into 2 open seats at the bar. The place was full when we arrived in the late afternoon. I ordered the onion burger and my husband got a double. We shared cheese fries(the order was HUGE and we barely made a dent in it). The place is cash only so be prepared. I think they take check but I’m not sure about out-of-town checks? It was good as expected from a diner. It was not anything better than I expected a diner burger to taste like. You better like it because you will taste it for many hours after you’ve moved on.
