99 Cent Store

Love this little spot this is where I stock up on my late night munchies and all the staff is really nice they keep a smile on there face at least… and I think thats great for a retail job cause I would go crazy.

I don’t usually write reviews on 99 cent store but I wanted to write a quick review for this establishment.
This was my first time to shop at this location.
I found and stopped by this place to grab water after enjoyed watching airplanes taking off and landing at the Clutter’s park near by.
Relatively new, big and clean.
Since I went in, I walked around the store to see what they have. I happened to find wide selection of alcohol beverages and was surprised to see very unique imported beers and wines I’ve never seen/​tried! I bought imported beers from Guatemala and white wine from South Africa! ONLY 79 cent/​bottle and $ 2.99 respectively! WOW!
I’ve seen a few other locations carry alcohol beverages as well, but they usually have domestic brands. I wish West LA location carry those alcohol beverages too! They don’t even have any alcohols:(
I definitely want to stop by here again to get more unique wines and beers! Can’t wait!

It bothers me that the“99 Cent Only Store” now has many items that are $ 1.99. That goes against it’s name!
Anyways, I sometimes stop in to see what «finds» I can get. Today I bought 3 containers of Earth’s Best Snacks whose BB date is 2 months from now. These usually are $ 3 each, and I got them for 99 cents. I bought an adjustable mop for $ 1.99 for my son to use as a toy mop. It was significantly cheaper than toy mops.
I have bought organic pouches for toddlers from this store ²⁄₉₉ cents. I also bought pretty good beach toys, 2 sets for $ 1.99 on sale.
Other than that, I stop in at times to stock up on some junk food. They have name brand chips for 99 cents. They have Pop chips, cheetos, veggie chips, Oreos, etc…
I stick to brands I know and trust (except for the toys). Make sure that the amount you are getting is a good value. For instance 99 cents worth of Advil is 4 pills, yes 4.
This store is in a great area with ample parking. The employees seem to be friendly as do the patrons.
Bottom Line: Worth stopping in.
PS– The carts are FILTHY!!! If you care about this kind of thing, bring your own cart wipes like I do.

The only 99 cent store I enjoy going to. Always have what I am looking for.

I always spend more than what I intend to, but that is because they have so much to chose from.

This store is practically our supermarket, since there are no grocery stores nearby DT El Segundo., Next big ones are on the Boulevard (Sepulveda). We/​I’m practically there everyday, embarrassed bcz the checkers probably think we have no life lol.
A lot of goodies, some cost over 99c, but are well worth it.
It’s within walking distance from us, another plus.
One or two things not major, but I agree w/​other reviewer about the pallets all over the place, you can barely get thru aisles, if at all.
Other issue, although smaller than the others, it has a lot of hard to find items; However in my case, the most common items can not be found. I still haven’t seen small bags of white rice, but yet there’s a huge poster of them pictured over the wall of store. Matter of fact, I don’t see any bags of rice, but a lot of dry pasta & beans only. I don’t see much for shower/​bathroom accessories (you know typical cheapy shower liners, tp dispensers, slip mats, etc nor not much of cut floor mats-​yea tiny but helpful until u can get one from Ross/​other stores. Oh well, not a big deal and still worth coming to get weekly needs.
What else? It’s a 99 cent store, good things always found in all of them!

I come here for the occasional office decoration for the holidays. It’s awesome, they have it all. The store is kept neat and in order. The entrance to the store is located right inside the parking structure.

I live in the area and have been going to this location since the day they opened their doors. I have watched the location decline over time.
I went in on ³⁄₃₀ at approx. 6:30 pm. As usual, there were pallets all over the sales floor. I am assuming this location doesn’t have a large enough stock room to keep up with the amount of product they get in. The store front had at least 5 pallets, making the whole gift bag/​greeting card section closed off. I usually start on the seasonal aisle. As I walked up, there were 2 employees who appeared to have dumped a 4 ft section of product off the shelf (easter candy) and decided it would be a good idea to leave it spread all over the floor. In addition to merchandise, there were empty display boxes all over. Alright– can’t walk down this aisle, let’s try another. I want to go to the back of the store to the freezers. I went to the party aisle next, far left of the store thinking it would be the quickest way to the freezers (against the back wall). It appeared to be the clearest aisle. As we were making our way down the aisle, there is an empty black plastic pallet on the floor in the center of the aisle. My husband and I walked by and i nudged it with my foot to move it. BAM! Another pallet once we turn to the right at the end of the aisle. There was about a 2 foot space between the pallet and end cap. As we approach, a guy runs up to the pallet and grabs onto a box, blocking the space. I wait for a moment and he stands staring at us. I told him «Go for it– i’ll wait» already looking irritated, he says «No– I am using this space. I am going there» and makes a big circle motion with his hand. So we can’t step to the side and let him walk by? We’re not allowed to be on the aisle because he is working 3 aisles? WHY NOT BLOCK THE AREA OFF?!? I was so frustrated I went back down the aisle, past the pallet, dropped my hand basket and walked toward the front. The one and only register open had such a long line (at least 8 customers) that it was going into another aisle, making it literally IMPOSSIBLE to access any aisles employees weren’t tearing apart or had crap spread out all over the floor.
WHO IS SUPERVISING THESES EMPLOYEES? I am the general manager of a chain retail store and I would NEVER EVER allow my associates to create such an unsafe sales floor and environment for our customers. Does «management» seriously encourage their employees to work in such an unorganized, unsafe and messy manner? Empty display boxes? Break them down on the spot! Fold them up into a larger box. Need to remove merchandise to reset a section? Utilize empty boxes, hand baskets or carts for Pete’s sake! Work smarter, not harder.
The best thing at this location is the super sweet cashier with the blonde bob hair cut. She is ALWAYS friendly, always makes conversation with her customers and is always on the hustle.

I was there last week and they had the MOST AMAZING assortment of cool Valentine’s Day items: cardboard cupcake display stands, cupcake pan liners, plastic light-​up necklaces, napkins, towels, confetti, conversation hearts, marshmallow bears, etc. No need to go elsewhere and pay big bucks.

A pretty nice location! I’m a fan of the 99 cents store and my favorite one is another location in downtown but this one is right down the street from my work so I can conveniently do my shopping on my lunch break!
The store is pretty quiet and uncrowded, aisles are a bit narrow, but the merchandise is neatly organized and they have a pretty large grocery section. They even have wine! This is the first location I’ve seen that sells alcohol.
Entrance to the parking lot is on Richmond but if that level is full, you can go to the upper levels (entrance off Grand)

Who doesn’t love the 99 cents store. This location is just great. I love the spacious parking and all the neat items they have to offer. Gone are the days of ghetto and unclean stores. this location has lots of items under a 1 and even some that aren’t. Don’t forget to check the wine aisle if you need a cheap beverage. Surprisingly they have moscatos and sweet reds.

I tried looking for paintbrushes here but no luck. If that’s what you’re looking for don’t waste your time.
Otherwise it’s a pretty solid 99 cents store. And ample parking outside

This place is hit or miss with lines. They usually never have more than 2 registers open at a time regardless of how many people are waiting. In regards to the overall quality of the store it is definitely one of the better 99 Cent Stores and rightfully so given its location. Compared to locations in South/​Southeast LA this place pretty much can be considered a super market. They have tall shelves where you can find pretty much anything your looking for and a pretty decent produce section. I think the only thing they are lacking would be a butcher section lol.
This place is literally 30 seconds from my job so I will continue to come here, but I would ideally like to see more registers open or the workers at the registers working with a sense of urgency. Most of the time the workers have a very passive attitude and it almost makes me feel depressed for shopping there.

As soon as they open up one of my favorite stores I’m about to leave precious El Segundo :/​this is the cleanest most organized 99cent store I’ve ever been to. Friendly staff is a major plus!
I’m very surprised by their produce section-I’ve scored some organic spinach, kale, & grapes. They have Chobani yogurt some days as well. I wish they carried strawberries that weren’t chocked full of GMO’s…you’ve really gotta be meticulous when you’re browsing the produce section.
Overall this store is amazing!

Honestly since it was my first time going to a 99 cent store, I really didn’t have high hopes. I wanted to see if they had anything for a three year old girl.
I was pleasantly surprised to find TONS of current Disney characters in stock! I wish I knew about this place when I was looking for thank you gifts for my son’s bday party. Lots of options. Really can’t go wrong since they’re all 99 cents!

All 99 cent stores are not made equally. This one is seriously my favorite. Such a clean and well stocked store! So many selections! They have clean aisles, friendly staff, everything is stocked very well. I bought Zico coconut water for $.99! Usually it’s $ 2.50 at Trader Joes!

As far at .99 Cent Only Stores goes, this is the mecca superstore of ‘em all… In the context of «Dollar» discount stores, this is amongst if not «the» best I’ve been to.
It’s simply the best I’ve been to for so many reasons in comparison to other $ 0.99 Only Store locations
1) It has covered parking in a nice spacious lot they provide.
2) It’s in a very nice neighborhood, and one with nice restaurants and Grand Street to stroll along, so there’s other things to do before/​after shopping.
3) The inside is clean, you won’t find stuff all over the floors. It’s well lit and the isles are wide.
4) The selection of merchandise is diverse across all categories and it’s a bigger store than most. So, there’s a lot more this store has that can’t be found in other stores.
5) The people who work here are helpful, proactively asking shoppers their assistance.
6) The people I’ve seen shop this location here aren’t for a lack of a better term, ghetto in attitude or appearance, so to speak. It’s the difference between Suburban vs Urban. As far as the socioeconomic demographics goes, they sell the same products as every other $ 0.99 store location I’ve been to (maybe as I’d mentioned even more selection) and at the same price ($ 0.99 or less), but the the patrons of this one seem to be a lot different than the typical other locations I’ve been to, maybe reflective of the neighborhood residents.
Aside from the comparisons to other stores, but like other $ 0.99 Only Stores, it’s a good place to pick up greeting cards, cleaning supplies, snacks and anything you may need as a utility, necessity, basic goods, clothing, toys as well as nik-​naks like office décor for holidays (New Years, Valentines, St Patrick’s Day, Easter, 4^th of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas) as well as celebrations (Birthdays, Wedding Showers, etc.), affordable disposable décor.
They have food products, including fresh produce, refrigerated goods, frozen items, canned and packaged goods. They of course have a lot of generic and off brand knock-​offs but also carry mainstream goods, major brands you’d see at Ralph’s, Albertsons and Vons. Their $.99 for a 6 pack of snack sized chocolate candies (M&M, Milky Way, $ 100,000 Bar, etc.) are always a pretty good value.
You can find some unique legit nice gift items here as well as some funny gag gifts too.
In 2013, I saw that a $ 0.99 Only Store (not this location) was selling a 2007 Sports Almanac and a 2004 Fantasy Football Guide. The $ 0.99 Only Store has been known for some interesting closeout clearance items, and sometimes people find out of print discontinued stuff here and post them to resell on eBay for profit.

Lots of fun stuff for 99.999 999 cents. Will visit again.

A warehouse-​size space with aisles of well organized products from home goods to pantry-​fillers, seasonal accessories to greeting cards and party supplies. It’s like a mild version of Walmart.
Look out for the refrigerated/​frozen section with milk and OJ, eggs and TV dinners plus a corner bountiful in fresh produce where you’ll find romaine lettuce, pineapples, melons, citrus and root vegetables (*Note: variety might vary depending on day of the week/​time of day). Salad lunches just dollars away!

Structure is accessible on Main St., Richmond or Concord St.
Great location in downtown El Segundo, walking to distance from the Starbucks strip and a number of other local businesses.
Opens at 8:30am.

Grand Opening!
What a welcome addition to our little enclave. Previously occupied (on a couple different occassions) by markets, this 99Cent location is pretty big. Spacious and cavernous with wide open aisles and bright lights. Shiny and new with that new car smell. All the regular items you would expect to find at your local 99Cent store you will find here… Cleaners, snacks, containers, plants, canned goods… they also have a frozen food section with cold cuts and Milk (1gal/2.99) and Eggs (18ct/1.99). there is as well a produce section with bagged salads and fresh fruits and veggies. Oh, and with Holloween coming up, their seasonal aisles are focused on those products with pumpkin baskets, witch hats, spider cutouts etc etc.
Parking is available in the structure and also on Richmond St. If you catch this review on time, they’re having Grand Opening specials for the next 9 days. Too bad I missed out on the 40″ Flatscreen they sold for 99cents on the first day! Oh well, we’ll be back here most definitely.
