In terms of lunch, the salmon was completely underwhelming. The hot pot vegetable soup was great but my salmon quinoa salad left something to the imagination. My friend order the Chimichurri Chicken and said it was good, but I didn’t try it, nor did I actually see any Chimichurri saw on the food, but okay whatever. Food quality looked okay, nothing special. Typical american non-nutritious meal. Calamari appetizer was cooked well, but again, nothing special there as the accompanying sauces tasted like they came straight out of a heinz bottle.

I started my dinner here first. I can only come in on my appetizers because we left this restaurant for another choice. I ordered a lemonade Champaign drink and three oysters. The oysters were quite large but we’re still very fresh. I like the fact that they were already shucks to the point where you could eat them with the fork. They came play did with horseradish and cocktail sauce. My Champaign lemonade was quite lemonade with a taste of basil. It was really fresh and I think would make for a great breakfast drink. Overall my appetizers were nice. I would have 8 on the menu but did not see anything that I really wanted to try. All of their meals where heavy with big meet portions.

This is my Happy Hour Spot and here’s the thing, not only are the drinks and prices amazing, but the appetizers are truly the business. The street tacos and more importantly the ribs are a must. Enjoy!

A few friends and I had the pleasure of trying this restaurant last night. I love the fact that everything is locally grown and still delicious. The atmosphere was perfect the service was excellent and the food was great. I will definitely be returning very soon. Not to mention our cocktails were AMAZING. Thank you to the staff that was working last night.

Paul Martin’s had an amazing happy hour. I really enjoy the burger and beer combo. The burgers are very well made and filling. They have a good selections of beers too. They also validate for parking. I have been for brunch and for dinner and both are very good. I love their skirt steak!

A dear friend(who has passed away) had recommended me to try this restaurant years ago. She had told me, «The food and drinks here are exquisite! Trust me, you will not f*cken regret it!» Life happened and forgot that she ever told me about this spot until she passed away and suddenly remembered her raving about Paul Martin’s. She wasn’t lying, the food and drinks here are the best! I finally came here with everything I had imagined it to be… classy, friendly, and with a cozy, inviting space with positive vibes and that’s exactly what I’ve experienced. Lunch was why I was there. I brought my mom and sister along and they thought this place was phenomenal. We order 3 different entreés and then we each have a little tasting of each other’s dishes. I ordered the Pork Chile Verde Enchiladas. It came with an Avocado Salad with a simple lemon, olive oil, salt and pepper dressing. The pork was a little tough but very delicious. The Chile Verde mole was very tasty. You can definitely taste the green poblano and tomatillo flavors. It wasn’t too spicy and the salt was just perfect in this dish. My sister ordered the Turkey Sandwich. This dish also had some major layers of flavors too. The roasted turkey, sun-riped tomatoes, the crisp lettuce, cheese, basil, and their spread was the perfect combo for a perfect sandwich. It was served with garlic seasoned fries… this it the perfect«play it safe and stick to what you know» kind of dish. The highlight of our meals was the Chile Rellano my mother ordered. It was a vegetarian dish with cheese, corn, spinach, and other delicious ingredients stuffed into a poblano chile. This is one dish I highly recommend ordering because you get the smokiness from the roasted chile, the saltiness from the cheese, the crunch from the corn, and the creaminess from the red mole sauce. One of the best Chile Rellanos I’ve ever tried! I did try one cocktail which I forgot to snap shot a photo of. The Champagne Lemonade was light, crisp, and refreshing. It had Basil notes and garnished with 3 lemon wheels and a basil leaf. Not too sure which champagne they used but it was well paired with my pork enchiladas. I absolutely love this place. I hear they have an awesome happy hour which I can’t wait to come back to experience. Classy, elegant, with friendly servers and a positive vibe? You know I’ll be definitely coming back for more!

Came in for happy hour to find out the have new hours. 3 to 6 Monday through Friday only. Very disappointed. This was my favorite place; a true Gem. Always great food however I expected happy hour prices and was hit with double the bill. Back to Irvine I go. Definitely looking for a new happy hour place in the area.

Paul Martin’s is a solid choice for lunch or dinner in El Segundo. What makes them a 3 star joint then? I think the price is a little too high for what you get. It’s American comfort food made very well but I feel like it’s kind of expensive for what it is. I got a Cobb salad — with no frills it was $ 14. To add chicken was like another 5 bucks. The salad was good, but still. $ 20? Their HH gets 4 stars. Good price, pretty wide selection, and quality is good.

I came here for HH on a Thursday night. If you are planning on coming here back sure you come early like before HH starts. Its family/community style seating with a bar and a few(1 – 3) booths(which were reserved). I think this is a decent HH if you want a few sips of wine and small dish. Come here just to meet up with friends before dinner somewhere else. I did have some great conversation catching up with my long time friend but I would make this my go-to spot for HH.

I went on a Monday night for their two entrees and a wine for $ 50. This is a pretty good deal as $ 50 is probably the price of two entrees alone. I think their deal is that they use local ingredients and everything is a as fresh as possible. There is a salad as a starter and you can choose your wine from a list they have(some restrictions). Waiter says they have this deal to bring customers into the restaurant but I think they’re doing pretty good regardless since the area has a lot of corporate businesses here. I had the hoisin marinated pork chop and date had the skirt steak. The dishes came out hot and the sauces were perfect. My pork chop was pink in the middle and I was a bit worried about this, but I think it really made the meat juicy and flavorful. They also have a $ 27 prime rib deal on Sunday’s, and $ 23 Sunday brunch, which all seemed like good deals. I’ve also been to their happy hour and it’s 3 – 7, which is nice for people who can get a half day on Fridays. Their $ 14 deals, which include the burger or the fish and chips, comes with a beer so it’s a good deal.

Came here for a quick Happy Hour and their food is just okay. Nothing that particularly stands out to me. We had a large group of people and even with our reservations, we still had to wait a little bit. The restaurant throughout is pretty dimly lit and décor is definitely modern. There are various types of tables you can sit at ranging from high table tops to stools seating or normal table tops to booths. We fully took advantage of the Happy Hour menu and ordered everything from beers to mixed drinks with food orders such as fish and chips, street tacos, fried chicken, to chicken tenders and of course french fries! Cannot attest for the actual meal menus but the Happy Hour ones are a pretty good selection!

Celebrated a friends bday dinner and my meal was average. I played it safe by ordering the bistro burger. The burger is one of the least expensive menu items with base price at $ 14, but then in small print under the description you basically have to spend like $ 8 more dollars to get a non basic burger so it turned into one of those $ 20 plus burgers blah. I don’t remember the burger being $ 20 good but during happy hour, its probably a better deal. Cocktails were strong and tasted great. The service was a bit all over the place. The waiter, while friendly needed to be reminded of things. We were never told there was complimentary bread. I just so happened to ask cause I was starving and the food was taking long. I ended up asking the waiter twice when the bread was coming. After the bread finally came I instinctively filled up on it which didn’t leave much room for my entrée. All in all, I wasn’t impressed by this place and it’s probably best to come during happy hour for deals. I also recommend sitting at a booth cause the chairs are uncomfortable. Parking is a structure and is free at night but there’s also valet.

So I run a happy hour group with close to 2000 people in it, and when I select a restaurant to go to and bring 15 or 20 people with me, I expect good service. This is not what I got from this particular restaurant. We arrived at 6PM and will all huddled in the corner of the bar because it was quite busy. One of the waiters was trying to accommodate us, and after about 20 minutes told us we could sit outside. No one helped carry all our food and drinks outside, so in a couple of trips a few of us sat down at a table on the enclosed patio. The hostess came out and told us immediately to leave and that we couldn’t sit there for happy hour. She was surly and rude. So once again I had to stand up and make two or three trips to carry the drinks and food back to the corner of the bar where we were before. In a very weak attempt to be accommodating, they moved us to a different table in the bar. In my opinion, the happy hour offering was very weak, the service was lousy, and the attitude of the hostess was lousy, although the bartenders service was OK. The food was just OK, not special. I won’t be bringing the group back here again.

A good dinner but, Paul Martin’s is not Flemings or Ruth’s Chris. we arrived early and went to the bar to have a cocktail. by the time our drinks came, we were late getting to our table. they seemed under-staffed. our server was good and very friendly. once again, this is mid-tier service, friendly but not top-notch. ordered two steaks, the New York and Ribeye. The New York was a 4, the ribeye, a 3. Too much fat on the rib-eye. mashed potatoes and cauliflower were both excellent sides. I would come here again but, it’s more a spot for happy-hour or a really good burger, not for a special occasion.

Smoked Chicken and Wings from Paul Martin’s American Grill. They have some solid Happy Hour prices for a high end restaurant but they totally missed on some of these dishes. These wings were not good at all. They smoked them but they tasted burnt and dry. Then they only give you a few drumettes and the rest is ultra thin sliced tenders(but not tender). And only breaded on 2 sides, so they cooked a bigger piece of chicken then chopped it up into pieces. It felt like they wanted to do something new and unique but sacrificed quality and totally botched the recipe to achieve a certain price point. The other 2 dishes were average at best. Expectations is everything and mine were way too high for this place. Oh well. Live and learn.

The $ 50 Monday night dinner for two is a steal A friend and I went last Monday for the $ 50 dinner for two and were both very impressed. The promotion includes two entrees(from their regular entrée list – some normally $ 25+ each) and a bottle of wine(a selection from their regular list – some bottles normally $ 40+). We wound up also ordering a calamari appetizer, and while delicious, it wasn’t needed. It came with two terrific dipping sauces and was a generous portion. We also ordered a dessert of three house-made ice cream flavors, which was divine. The dinners come with a lovely organic salad(I recommend the house dressing, a mildly creamy vinaigrette) and were very good. My friend had a chicken dish and I had the pasta with shrimp. The shrimp were large and flavorful and the pasta well-made. My only(rather minor, all things considered) complaint was that the pasta could have used a bit more seasoning. In the end, we were both very pleased and will be returning, and not just for the Monday night promotion.

Nice spot really close to work. They have 2 hours free parking with validation in the parking structure. You can also valet for a small fee. Started off with Kettle One moscow mules and the salt & pepper shrimp. It is always a good sign when the Mules are served in copper cups. Very refreshing drink. I ordered the bistro burger with cheddar cheese and added avocado and sweet potato fries. Nice bun and the burger was cooked perfectly. Too many fries so I had to leave a bunch on the plate since I was saving room for dessert. For dessert we shared a slice of banana cream pie and the cinnamon apple crisp. The banana cream pie was terrific. I really loved the thin layer of solid chocolate between the filling and the flaky crust.

Our conference group had a wonderful time having our dinner in the Paul Martin wine room. It was private and well staffed. The room was appropriately named as the wine was flowing and fantastic. The atmosphere was great. In terms of the food, I’ll say that it was good; not great, but good. The calamari was outstanding, while the spinach dip was ok. The salmon was salty and just ok. The apple crisp was good. Finally the squash soup was good(not sure why you’d add croutons to the soup, but hey…). I was glad I came to Paul Martin’s, but I think with all the options so close by, the entrees will need to step up.

Definitely read the entire review or you’ll wonder why I gave them 4 stars with the words I’m about to type. Used Open Table to reserve our table, that worked out great as I requested a booth with an overview of the restaurant. They gave us a great booth. Our server greeted us right away and was professional but a bit distant. The runner for our table was great, bringing water right away and bread, butter and plates immediately when requested(I like their bread, nice crunch to the crust with a light and almost fluffy center). We ordered the mesquite salmon and the shrimp with pasta. Both meals tasted good but both had flaws. The salmon came with a salad type side which was placed along side and on top of the salmon. Most places serving salmon feature the fish as it is visually pleasing. But this dish covered the fish, making it less visually appealing and also making the fish a little oily. The shrimp with pasta was tasty but the shrimp were a bit dense, making me think they were cooked just a bit too long. Our server didn’t approach us during our meal but did as we were finishing. We mentioned out opinion of our meals and he brought the manager, Vanessa, to our table. She listed to our concerned and offered gift certificates as a way of saying sorry for our experience. We thought this was a great customer service move along with the fact that she thanked us for giving our feedback. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve trying to give constructive feedback on a meal or dish and have the waiter, waitress or manager argue with me about my taste buds. Not a good was to bring back a customer. Paul Martin’s staff did a great job addressing our thoughts and opinions. Since it was also my girlfriend’s birthday, they brought a nice ice cream, chocolate syrup, nuts and marshmallows. Very nice tough and a tasty dessert. On a side note, they have a two for $ 50 deal on Monday night(not the night we attended) which includes a bottle of wine. Great deal if you’re in the area. There’s validated parking behind the restaurant, probably a 3 to 5 minute walk, and they have a valet if you’d prefer. Overall, we’re going back and would recommend it but would also not recommend the two dishes we had this night. Hope you enjoy it!

Food was salty — cedar plank salmon. My rare prime rib was served cold. Not even the slightest bit warm. They brought it out again but was well done. I ate half of it because my family had already finished their food and I didn’t want to hold them up any longer. The waitress never even batter an eye nor did she apologize. The waitress was very hard to find. We had to go to the bar twice to get requests for extra plates or other things. We wanted a nice Sunday dinner out. What we got was piss poor service and even worse food. Do yourself a favor — for the price there are many wonderful alternatives up and down the street.

What an incredible place. The service was fantastic from the minute we walked into the door. We were a bit skeptical due to the Unilocal rating but I’m so glad we gave it a try. It’s a beautiful restaurant and it just feels right too. Vanessa the manager came over to make sure everything was fine and it was ! We will definitely go back when in the area. By the way… the food was just awesome. Management get your rating up you should be FIVE stars !

This is my first time coming to Paul Martins during happy hour and I literally walked out about 5 minutes after I walked in. The hostess at the front desk Margareta was very rude, unhelpful, and unpleasant. Margareta walked my party to a table and I stopped her and said I wanted to be seated for happy hour. She then told me to look for a tall seat and walked away with the menus in hand. Typically when I go to restaurants they ask me where I want to be seated and let me know there is a happy hour section. None of this was done. I walked around seen no seats available and Margareta did not offer me a solution nor did she ask if I needed assistance. I hope she was having a bad day and this is not her everyday attitude at work. I gave 2 stars because my previous visit wasn’t bad. But her attitude was so bad, I had to take away 3 stars.

Great place for happy hour! They have an extensive and very well priced happy hour menu. I came here with a group of 7 for an after work happy hour. We arrived around 5PM so the bar area was still fairly empty. They have 2 large tables that are good for groups, but you have to show up early to get them. The service is very good — the waiters are attentive and were able to handle food and drink orders for 7 people. The food and drinks are unremarkable. We ordered almost every item on the happy hour menu, and none of them really stood out. I also ordered one of the $ 5 wines, which is about what you would expect for only $ 5. The small plates are great to share though, and for the low price, they are worth it when you’re with a big group. Based on the food quality, I would recommend this place for happy hour only, as the full menu seems too expensive for the quality.

I treated my friend to a belated birthday dinner here. The braised short rib and mashed potatoes were SOGOOD. I don’t think I’ve had better mashed potatoes anywhere else! The short rib was so tender and flavorful. My friend ordered the«brick» chicken and really enjoyed it. The plate was attractive and a generous serving. I was tempted to order the Monday Special Wine Dinner for 2 which cost $ 49 which is so worth it. You get two organic green salads, choice of entrees, plus a bottle of wine from a selection of twenty five kinds. I need to start coming here more often!

Paul Martin’s American Grill brings on an adequate approach to the American genre. Paul Martin’s is a small but recognizable chain here in SoCal and I found myself at the El Segundo location recently on a business lunch. The interior, service and menu is sort of a mash up of The Cheesecake Factory, The Yard House and Eureka! with a splash of Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar. It is a chain and you have probably have already eaten here so let’s do this rapid fire: The flash-fried salt and pepper shrimp are accompanied by a snappy pesto aioli. The brick chicken is marinated for 24 hours before being flattened on a skillet to create a oh-so-delicate crust and is plated with a light and silky mound of mashed potatoes. The devil’s food layer cake is almost too rich but thanks to macerated cherries it doesn’t wander to the point of cloying. So there you have it, a Paul Martin’s review.

It’s never really been hard for me to make friends. It comes naturally: make some small talk, find some common ground(or not – that’s cool too), form a connection. What I’ve found throughout the years, though, is that the permanence of these friendships is fleeting. In other words, it’s really, really hard to make amazing friends that stick around for a long time. Whether that’s due to changing personalities or priorities or even just physical limitations – moving off to new and afar cities – is up to the individual friendship, but life dictates it such that it’s almost random who stays and who doesn’t. This sense of loss – or, more accurately, a gradual fade – always sticks with me whenever I feel like I’ve made a great friend. I’m able to enjoy the present, enjoy his or her company, but in the back of my mind I always feel sad that they can’t be there with me forever. I made a really great friend at my summer internship, and the day had come for him to travel back to the East Coast for school. Since he had no car, I had been driving him around during the summer after work to hang out, play basketball, grab some quick and great meals. It was a real blast, and I told him we’d eat one more time before I took him to the airport. Wanting to do it big, he chose Paul Martin’s; for the first time besides a final presentation, I saw him wear a collared shirt and not a t-shirt. We walked in and were seated, and I was struck by the pleasant ambiance of the location. Not too dark but lighting just enough to create a sense of fine dining, I was at peace. We ordered a set of $ 11 virgin summer refreshers to begin, which were – true to the name – extremely refreshing and had pops of sugary strawberries. For the main course, he ordered $ 27 skirt steak while I opted for the $ 24 chimichurri hangar steak with fries. The steaks were both really great; they were cooked very well and had more than enough flavor. The fries were cut skinny and were delicious; they served as a worthy partner to the meat. To finish off the meal, my friend ordered the banana cream pie while I opted for the devil’s food cake. The banana cream pie was amazing: cold, savory, and just enough banana and sugar to create a balanced dessert. The devil’s food cake was extremely rich, and I felt as if it was too much chocolate for me to handle. The service was great; our waitress was very kind and attentive, and when the steaks took a very long time – probably about half an hour – to come out, she was kind enough to offer a slight discount to compensate for the wait. Seeing as we had time to spare, we were certainly happy to see that. As the check was paid – thanks, buddy – the meal had come to an end. It was really, really awesomely good, and we talked about everything from school to future jobs to starting businesses to relationships. This guy was genuinely one of the nicest people I’ve ever met, and his motivation inspired me to achieve my highest potential one way or another. As I drove up to LAX and gave him one last handshake, I was sad but not overtaken. Life by nature is temporary. It doesn’t mean we have to let loss rule us.

Best deal I thought was the burger, fries and beer for $ 13, will have to be back to try more next time!

Paul Martin’s is a a great place to go for happy hour. I’ve been here a few times for HH and this past Thursday the place was packed! There were corporate events going on in the patio and private room and the bar area was completely full. The HH menu consists of $ 5, $ 9 and $ 13 priced items. We ordered some from each section. From the $ 5 menu, we had chicken skewers, salmon lettuce cups, beef tacos and chicken wings. I personally liked the chicken skewers and beef tacos the best. Then from the $ 9 menu we ordered the ahi poke and butcher board. Finally from the $ 13 menu we got one of the BBQ pulled pork sandwich and the burger. Both the pulled pork sandwich and burger come with fries and it is a generous portion size. The BBQ pulled pork sandwich was tasty and the fries were good. Definitely recommend this place for HH after work. When it gets busy, though, it can be hard to flag down a waiter so be prepared to wait!

I just had dinner there, i must say, the atmosphere of this restaurant is really nice, comfy, a little dark, a little fancy but not too much. Had the butcher’s board, it was excelent, fresh cheese and meat, then had the hanger steak, marinated to perfection, perfectly cooked, mash potatoes were excelent too. Could get more optioms for the beers, not the best i had… Service was great and fast from Kristy, efficient and polite… I would suggest it…
