Sunset Floors Carpet One

Despite previous reviewer that reported a less than stellar experience, we decided to give our local flooring store a try to install a new kitchen floor for us. We had Peggy come out to do some measurements for our small kitchen, and within a day or two she emailed us the quote. It was a very reasonable price for materials & installation, so we decided to go for it. We had a bit of a delay of the materials arriving for our installation date, but we weren’t in a rush so it wasn’t a big deal. It was a couple of weeks between ordering until we got the phone call from Peggy that our shipment had arrived and the installers would be out in the morning.
The installers (Gus & Juan) arrived on time and they were able to finish up our kitchen in one day. We have a small, cramped kitchen, so we were a bit worried about the moving of appliances — we didn’t want any dings or damage. Gus & Juan were perfect. Professionals down to the tiniest details. They did an excellent job of installing our floating floor, and the results were fabulous. They cleaned up and hauled the old tiles before leaving. We are very happy with their work and the quality of the flooring.

After using major retailers to install our floors in the past I thought I would give our hometown company a shot, I regret I making that decision. The installation was poorly done as they did not secure the carpet to the carpet tacks and left the carpet strips loose. They also left many marks on our walls when they moved furniture, damaged door frames by leaning furniture against them, then proceeded to leaving much of what was moved in our hallway. When I called to speak to our rep she was not available, that was two weeks ago and I have not heard from anyone since. I had high hopes for a successful install, but was very disappointed in the quality of their work and their customer service.

I have used Sunset Carpets for many projects between my business and my home. They have always been great with helping to pick out the best flooring for the circumstance, have top notch installers, are on time and never have delayed a job. I always ask for Craig when I call. He has been incredible help, is super knowledgable, easy to work with and gets right to the point. No time wasted and top quality work done. That’s the way I like to do business whether it is in my house or my offices.

I have had the exact opposite experience with this store. I bought vinyl tile for our master bath and replaced some carpeting in a den. Peggy and Steve, who helped me find what I was looking for were very price conservative in their estimates. They went out of their way to give me a reasonable price. In fact, both jobs cost around $ 1000 for materials and labor. I had estimates from stores much closer to my home, and Sunset was way less expensive. I wold advise anyone to comparison shop before buying. Ask about guarantees ahead of time. In my experience, no business can afford to guarantee *the products they install. unconditionally. It is the carpet manufacturer that provides the basic warranty. The store only covers defects due to poor installation. As far as I am concerned, they have earned my trust as a business that tries to win your repeated patronage.

Absolutely Terrible! They got us to step up to their top of the line Carpet One carpet, all guaranteed not to stain for 10 years… then it totally delaminated throughout the house, completely fell apart. They tried to blame water in a dry area with no plumbing, while ignoring that the entire lot fell apart everywhere. They didn’t stand behind it in the slightest, just blamed the mill as too big to care took zero care of us, so we just have to replace it. I warn everybody to stay far away from these guys!!!
