Bummed this place closed. It was by far my favorite place to get some soup. Their tomato basil was so delish and I’ll be hard pressed to find another soup place that fans compete.

So sad to see this place go. Such amazing soups that taste home-made and freshest salads Ever! We will miss this place a ton.

I come here everytime one of my kids are sick, and I get them the chicken noodle. Both my son and daughter love it, and so do I. I have had all their soups and have never been let down. Top soup place around, and the service is excellent.

Q&D: Great soup, chili, and salads. Long & Soupy: I love The Soup Bar. Sometimes all you need is a little soup to help mend, and The Soup Bar has just that. Their turkey chili is fantastic and their caesar salads are pretty awesome too. The Tomato Basil Bisque is a safe bet and they even have some gluten free cookies on hand at times for when you have a sweet tooth. I’ve NEVER encountered an unfriendly staff member and everything is ready almost as soon as you order it. A perfect place to go when you need lunch on the fly and you don’t have much time, a sure bet. If you are in the area and want something quick and delicious, then go here. Not to mention if you are an AAwards member, you get miles! yay! Go eat here. Sam

This is one of my favorite places in El Segundo! They have shown me some wicked good variations I would have never thought of — i.e. butternut ginger soup. And I love that they let you try first! The everyday soups are always good fall backs, especially the turkey chili and tomato bisque. They also now have grilled cheese sandwiches to go with your soup-win/win. There’s always great veggie & vegan choices as well. Oh and the bread they offer on the side-yum!

I love everything about this place. The service is great, the soup is delicious and I love that they always switch up their menu. One wish: that they’d have chilled soup year round. It’s California so we have sunny weather all year. And I really like the cashew soup but they only have it one week out of the entire year! You can see that the only problem I have is that they’re too delicious!

I LOVESOUPBAR! Even in hot weather, their soups are so yummy! You can try different soups and the staff is super nice. I checked in and got 10% off a combo, which was soup, salad and bread. They have this brown squaw bread that is healthy and delicious. Apparently you can get«flights» and have a variety of soups which I wish I knew about. I had the tomato bisque which was delicious and tried the vegetarian chili which was even more delicious and apparently its one that they switch out. They have the three standard soups that you can get all the time and they switch out three every week.

Overpriced. For $ 10(not including tip or a drink), you get a small cup of soup and half of a tiny sandwich. Oh wait, I forgot. You also get a slice of pickle. What? I don’t get this place. The profit margins must be astronomical. Now, I’m not just judging this place on quantity, it is also about quality. I got the Turkey Chili and the Cheddar/Mushroom sandwich. It had a heavy tomato base which gave it a really sweet taste. It tasted like they put a whole bottle of ketchup in it. The sandwich was hilarious because it literally had two mushrooms in it. It was soooo tiny. Now, I love soup and sandwiches… but you can get this at Wholefoods for a lot cheaper. And, you will get more food. Parking in this center is limited. Service is friendly. I like that they offer samples of their soups. The interior is pretty. Overall, I don’t recommend this place. It’s way over priced for the quality and quantity of the food you get.

SOUP! Yum! I’ve been here a few times for lunch with coworkers and am definitely a fan– especially when it’s cold out or I just want some comfort food. Every soup I’ve tried has been good, but I’m partial to the turkey chili. I also love that they have olive oil for the fresh bread. I haven’t tried anything here that I didn’t like. The only thing I’m taking a star off for is the price. It’s a bit pricey for soup & grilled cheese, but still pretty good nonetheless. Pros: –Love the wide selection of year round & seasonal soups –Having an option to choose 3 soups in one meal(the soup flight) eased my indecisive mind! –You can try any soup before you order –Friendly, helpful, and quick service –Fresh cracked pepper, salt shakers and olive oil on table Cons: –Price is too steep –I was still hungry after eating a half a grilled cheese and the small size soup –I’m not a fan of to-go salads that you mix yourself Tips: –Try all the soups before you order if you want! You’re bound to find one you like. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m craving soup!

Soups, Sandwiches, Salads, & Olive Oil. Need I Say More? I frequent soup bar on cold days. I love the tomato bisque & classic grilled cheese combo. Customers can try the soups prior to ordering. The menu boasts 8 soups(4 classic + 4 items of the month), 9 salads(a few as sides a few as entrees) and multiple grilled cheese options. The staff is very friendly. They don’t rush you with your order. I suggest getting there close to 12 as it gets very busy shortly thereafter. The nice thing about soup is its basically ready to go! There is never a long wait for your food once the order is placed.

I had the unfortunate experience of visiting the Soup Bar on a night when it was packed for a special event. Apparently the place is popular, but this night was out of control. So consider this review as a placeholder until I visit again. True to their name, they serve a lot of soup at the Soup Bar. You can also get salads and grilled sandwiches. A flight of 35-oz servings of soup with a slice of your choice of bread will set you back about 8 bucks. not bad. I’d have taken a flight, however almost all their soups contained dairy. So I went for my only option of the Tuscan soup. It was ok. Had I not felt rushed at the counter, I would have further perused the ingredient list… and discovered that my first choice of Thai Chicken Coconut did not have cream… I’d have enjoyed that soup. I can’t write about the service, as it was extremely slow due to the overcrowded circumstance… They were friendly though. One thing — the soups and salads are all served in to-go containers — even for dining in. I would much rather have my soup in a real ceramic bowl. I’m not into the whole disposable container thing…

Totally a fan! This place is great with some awesome soup! Love it that they had grilled cheese and soup! Perfect combo ever! I got a tomato basil soup with a side of the spicy jack grilled cheese. It was a delightful pairing and really delicious. They have many soups and three different types of grilled cheeses. They have other options on the menu, salads, breads, and sandwiches. I thought it was a bit pricy for the amounts that they give, but still the quality was great and I would splurge on a meal that is fresh and delicious. I will definitely be coming back here!

It’s nice to have SB as a weekday lunch option. Situated in a strip mall with Starbucks, a few other food-made-fast eateries and businesses, Soup Bar has a chalkboard menu of legit soups from classics to weekly specials, decent salads and combos of either or sandwiches. My favorite part is actually their fresh-baked artisan bread: the Multigrain(!), which can come with any soups or entrée salads. It has seeds/grains(maybe some nuts) rolled in and all throughout the pliable, spongy dough, encrusted in a thick, seedy shell. Trust me, it’s THAT good. SOUPS — taste testing is allowed! Good(12oz.) $ 5.99 Better(16oz) $ 6.99 Souper(20oz) $ 7.99 «The Classics»: — Tomato Basil Bisque(vegg, gluten-free): creamy, tomato-y, thick, predictable and maybe even better with that grilled cheese — a little on the salty side for me. — Tuscan Vegetable Bean(vegg): lots of cooked down veggies in broth, pretty good, not an absolute fan. — Turkey Chili(gluten-free) — Chicken Noodle «The Specials»: — Sweet potato & Kale: tasty, hearty and likely a popular Fall favorite. — Mulligatawny: coconut, curry, onions, carrots, red lentils, parsley — on the salty side when I had it, maybe it was heated and reheated for a bit which tends to be the result. Otherwise, pretty fulfilling and fabulous with that MULTIGRAIN bread! Tip: Use the Belly App to get points and earn freebies!

Who goes out of their way during their boring workday lunch break to have soup? This Mofo! And I am damn glad I took a chance on this place after reading the reviews. Now my coworker and I can’t stop going back! One can safely infer that soup at The Soup Bar is far from Boring and actually on the corner of Delicious and Habit-forming! During my first visit, I had the soup + salad + bread combo in the«Good» size, which is just enough to satiate my appetite until dinner. This past week, Wild Mushroom was on their rotating soup menu and since I absolutely love the stuff, it was in and out my soup cup faster than you can say«Can I have summore, please?!» I paired it with a hunk of their sourdough bread and yummy Spring Mix salad. A solid combo for just under $ 10. The soup was perfectly heated, not too hot to burn my mouth and not too cold for me to scoot it aside. It was a creamy mix that carried the meaty and savory flavor of crimini mushrooms very well. The porous sourdough bread made the perfect soup soaking utensil to get every last drop out of that cup. It definitely warmed my soul through. Comfort food at its best. The salad was a simple blend of baby greens, topped with candied walnuts(:D) and feta or goat cheese crumbles. I tossed the dressing in favor of the complimentary EVOO& Balsamic Vinegar(which is very fruity). It provided the right twang i was looking for and balanced out the meal. On my second visit, I had the same combo, but this time I went for the chicken gumbo with rice. It was a hearty soup, although not as thick and filling as the Wild Mushroom. Pieces of shredded chicken populated every bite and the andouille sausage was mild, but added a nice additional texture. I wish there was a little more rice. You may think that summer is an odd time to be getting into soups, but trust me… this summer is shaping up to be pretty chilly! I’m gonna go curl up under my covers and sip some cocoa now! I’m freezing.

I love Souplantation. but this place is just as much minus the salad and minus the unlimited part of it. That’s wonderful that they make their soups in house. but at about $ 7 – 10 per soup or combo. I don’t really think it’s worth the price. I don’t think these soups are the best I have ever had. I think I had the lentil soup. but seriously, soup is very cheap to make. you are charging way too much. Plus the parking is kind of a hassle here around lunch.

I like the soups I’ve had there, but I will moan about the service. The two times that I went there the male cashier was mehhhhh. Nothing stood out and the very next day the same thing. I really enjoyed the chicken Gumbo soup and the turkey chili. The wheat bread was fab!!! two cups of 12 ounce soups, 2 slices of bread and a cookie about $ 16 bucks.

***The Soup Bar is a little pricey for a just okay order-at-the-counter spot, but everything(soup, salad, bread) was at the very least decent*** The Soup Bar is a quick order-at-the-counter spot in a kind of tucked away area of El Segundo; it is not along the major streets that connect the neighboring cities like Westchester, Playa Del Rey or Manhattan Beach. The Soup Bar is a nice little spot with a very clean décor. The menu showcases a good variety of soups that you can pair with pre-packaged salads or a grilled cheese sandwich. I have tried several soups. I liked their turkey chili, which was topped with cheddar cheese. It was hearty and flavorful. It was nothing better than what you could get at a spot like Corner Bakery, but it was decent. Their curried lentil soup was also good and had a noticeable curry flavor. I did not really care for the butternut squash – too strong. Their pre-packaged salads definitely are not bad though I was not a big fan of the simple greens salads. Some of the greens were a little brown. The spinach salad was better. The mushrooms were very simple(just raw and sliced), but I really liked the flavorful sun-dried tomatoes and the creamy poppy dressing. They have several bread options, but I have only had their multigrain bread. It is hearty and pretty good(definitely on the dense side). It has a good crust. The bread is a little roughly cut, but the flavor is good. Service is quick and pleasant. Prices are on the high side given that it is an order-at-the-counter spot, but you get a pretty substantial meal with one of their combos and I thought their bread was definitely better than what you would get at a Corner Bakery or a Panera(and I think their soups are probably better as well). The Soup Bar is a decent spot for a quick meal – and even a healthy meal if you order right. It is not a great spot, but they have several interesting sounding soups that I may check out in the future. The Soup Bar is located in a retail plaza that has its own free parking lot.

Came here with my cousin on a Saturday during lunch time. I got the combo(½ grilled cheese plus soup) of turkey chili and the classic grilled cheese. My cousin got the tomato basil bisque and classic grilled cheese. We ordered the medium size soups but could have been satisfied with the small size. Both soups had good flavor and served hot which I like. I would order both again if I went back. The grilled cheese was good as well but nothing to write home about. It was $ 9 for the combo which is a little steep in my opinion. Good place to come if you want a light lunch or are sick and need some soup to feel better. But not a place I will crave or go out of my way to come back to.

As good as it gets… because I live in Torrance and they don’t have an awesome soup-only-variety-offering place around me! I would go so much more often if they did. You can visit the website for their menu and rotation. They have four usual soups offered: of those I love the Tomato Bisque and Turkey Chili. Yum! Then they rotate 4 more every week: of those I love, love the Clam Chowder(spices and herbs make this truly unique), the Butternut Ginger Lime(subtle, yet creamy and wholesome!), the Chicken Sausage Kale, and the Spring Mix Salad. The split pea is okay. Nevertheless, I will travel the 20 miles for this weekend treat. Thank you Soup Bar for being an actual soup restaurant that sells variety soups! Now if you could just build one in Torrance it would be busy all of the time!

Soups aren’t just preludes to the main course at the Soup Bar. Here soups are the main course. Going to a restaurant soup counter had me envisioning episodes of Seinfeld with Jerry choosing soup(actually a bisque) over a woman because«You can’t eat this soup standing up, your knees buckle.» I also half expected to find a tyrant behind the counter and was practicing Elaine’s famous exclamation of «You’re through, Soup Nazi. Pack it up. No more soup for you.» Luckily, the team behind the Soup Bar counter was cheerful and eager to share samples of any of the 8 soups with a smile. And with the first bite, I became George, «Shhh! I gotta focus. I’m shifting into soup mode.» It was a cool January night in El Segundo. The kind were soup soothes the soul as much as the appetite. Olivia and I easily found a spot in the strip mall lot and were glad to discover the clean, modern, and inviting Soup Bar relatively quiet on a Friday evening. My favorite samples were the meaty Turkey Chili and bean-heavy Chicken Tortilla soups, however, we settled on a medium 16 oz «better» bowl of Butternut Ginger Lime Soup for $ 6.99 and a small 12 oz «good» bowl of Tomato Basil Bisque for $ 5.99. Both were vegetarian and gluten free served in a paper bowl with a hearty side of bread(1 Multi-grain &1 Sourdough). The tomato bisque was classic and simply satisfied. I recommend it more than the Butternut soup because the tang and ting of the yogurt and its other flavors became drab after a few spoonfuls. There is an old Spanish rhyme of «Entre la sopa y el amor, la primera es mejor.» It means that«Between soup and love, the first is better.» Perhaps it is true. I do love soup. The Soup Bar may not of had any soup that made my «knees buckle», but it was a pleasant place to satisfy my soup spirit.
