NGPPH Nola Giddings Peruvian Paso Horses

I just started lessons with Nola and I couldn’t be happier. I’m a 30 year old new mom and was looking for a place to unwind with amazing horses, some «mommy time» — I FOUND IT! All Nola’s horses are great — I felt so comfortable right away. I can’t wait to go and back! I will be signing my daughter up as soon as she is old enough. If you are looking for a peaceful place to ride with an amazing views of the bay and a kind hearted women who knows her stuff you have to check out NGPPH !!

Re-​connecting with old friends my wife and I realized that they and we enjoyed horseback riding. A city boy growing up in San Francisco, for me the riding is something new having just taken it up in 2011. My wife is an experienced rodeo rider and our friends both grew up in Colorado but had not ridden in many years. We found Nola Giddings Peruvian Paso Horses on Unilocal,conveniently located in El Sobrante where our friends live and based on the one 5-​star review given off we went. Warmly greeted by Nola, our party of four was introduced to our mounts and after being appraised for the right horse based on previous riding experience and permitted to do some hands-​on grooming, I found myself back in the saddle on a beautiful mare named «Tarabilla» (pronounced «tara-​BE-​ya»). As this was to be an introductory lesson, the next hour or so was then spent on-​site becoming familiar with the horses’ temperaments while staying within the friendly confines of the corral initially only walking but eventually finishing at a fast walk, a specialty of Peruvian Pasos. What a beautiful day it was! Nola and her two young wranglers, Miss Laila and Miss Ashley, made sure that we had the best experience, instructing and encouraging us in preparation for a future trail ride. My 10 year old daughter has been taking lessons with Nola for the past 7 months and she loves it! I love it, too. Nola is a very experienced instructor who gets results. She is also a very nice person with a very big heart who makes your child feel good about what he or she is doing. Nola works «with» the child and his/​her strengths rather than just telling them what to do and how to do it, which is the right style of teaching for my daughter. Very respectful. The horses are well treated and well-​behaved and the kids get to learn about taking care of the horses as well as how to ride them. Nola also offers trail rides, work days and informal camps. My daughter has done one work day so far and she really enjoyed it.
Nola’s stables are perched on a hillside in El Sobrante. They are very peaceful and picturesque. They are also conveniently located, right off of I-​80. We live in El Cerrito and her place is just a few miles from our house. I love that!
I can’t recommend Nola strongly enough. She is a special person and her stables are a special place.
