pat is a stand up guy. in this age when all the newer cars have systems that take up the whole center dash, it is putting this type of shop to the test. for all that need sound and video work and upgrading, see pat ! he will not steer you wrong !

I have hem work on my truck and he good at frist and caring but do not. Poch a check or he will change. He good but. Look around. Aways he is good but every one have. Good. Bad days

After several days leaving messages, I finally got someone on the phone.
– Said «the install will be expensive BECAUSE it’s a Lexus.» !
Ya right.
I questioned that statement, so he hung up on me.
So much for supporting local businesses.
This isn’t a business, it’s a hobby.
I have 3 cars that need work. I’ll find a REAL business elsewhere.

Even though it would’ve been too expensive for him to fix my mom’s specialized stereo and antenna, he pointed me in the right direction and told me to call him back with if the options he gave me were too pricey.
I like service where people are honest. It didn’t matter that he couldn’t help me, he wanted to make sure that I got whatever I needed. I appreciated that. Grade A customer service!

I came over in the middle of the week mid morning because I needed a new sound system and HF link in my older Pilot. Nobody could help me. Whoever was here had to leave. Whatever. Guess he doesn’t need the business !

So far, my hubby & I have had an alarm installed on two vehicles as well as a sound system. Every experience there has been fantastic, that’s why we keep coming back… and now I’m in the market for another vehicle and know where I will be taking it when the time comes!

Excellent service! Pat came right out and rewired our truck so it would start without the stupid immobilizer chip… he was super friendly and nice and finished really fast! What he charged was very reasonable and I would recommend him to anyone.

I really wanted this to work. That it didn’t is not Pat’s fault. I have a Nakamichi 12 CD changer that came w/​my car. It’s always been a bit sensitive to bumps in the road but has become hypersensitive. Alan did some research and learned that there’s a Nakamichi 6 CD changer that came standard on another model Lexus and was well regarded. He bought one from a dealer on the web and we brought it over to Pat at Sound Design. The thing hadn’t been well packaged and the brackets were bent and while Pat was able to install it, it didn’t work w/​the rest of my system. He took it out, we paid him and then we discussed sending mine out to be repaired. We left it w/​him to explore.
He called around and even sent it to someone in Walnut Creek who took it apart, then couldn’t find the parts to replace it. It doesn’t help that my car – and the changer – are 13, almost 14 years old. The guy in Walnut Creek put it back together and sent it back. Pat reinstalled it this afternoon. It works, though it still skips when I hit bumps in the road. I’m relieved that it works as well as it did when we started. Pat was apologetic that he wasn’t able to have it fixed. I’m disappointed it couldn’t be fixed but feel pretty much everything that could be done was done. When we met Pat we felt as if we were dealing w/​a «grownup» and we still feel that way.

I highly recommend Pat and Sound Advice to do any car audio/​alarm installation needed! He was friendly, honest, and completely clear about all of my options. He installed top of line gauge wiring, an Arc audio equalizer and two amps, fixed the alarm, and was very fair with everything. His work is top of the line and Pat is the most reliable stereo guy I have worked with. After dealing with Best Auto Car Stereo in Berkeley on Shattuck ave and feeling like I got completely ripped off, It was a relief to finally find my guy. He charged very little for labor and basically repaired past bad alarm and stereo installations on my car for little cost. Thanks again Pat and Sound advice! I look forward to additional work with you guys in the future!

We recently had a car alarm installed here. Pat, the owner, is a really nice guy, very polite, and is totally customer service oriented. I can’t speak for any of his car stereo work, but we were very happy with the alarm and the service we received.
