Julie is terrific. She has such a good way with the children. My daughter took to her right away and really trusts her to lead her into the new world of horses. She loves all the opportunities she is given to care for and bond with the pony as well as all the careful teaching. I have no doubt that as her skills grow, there is so much she can learn from Julie and I already see an improvement in her confidence and sense of self. Plus, we really look forward to getting to come to the farm so much, both of us! It’s so lovely and peaceful there. We couldn’t be happier:)

I can’t say enough great things about the instructor and the farm. My seven year old daughter takes weekly riding lessons and she has benefited in every aspect of her being. Julie is highly experienced and knowledgeable. She provides wonderful feedback in a positive and supportive way. The horses are so well cared for and the farm is beautiful. The price is very reasonable and well worth every penny. Our hour at Grindstone Farms is the highlight of our week!

Grindstone Farms and Horse Camp is a little hidden gem of a camp that is easily accessed by anywhere in North County. They are just a few minutes from San Elijo Hills. My first visit was today. I just returned from a birthday party and it was fantastic! The children had a great time. They had numerous rides around a large arena on two gentle horses, played horseshoes and enjoyed learning about taking care their horses. The gal that owns and operates the place, Julie, is very friendly and knowledgeable about horses and children. She was assisted by her sister, Jill, who was also fantastic! Grindstone offers several different types of camp. I highly recommend this camp!
