Italian Food on the go! Great food truck, delivering great customer service, and delicious Italian food. They’re only in the Schaumburg area once a week, on Wednesdays, so be sure to stop by when they’re in town. They have a decent size menu, but only offer certain things on certain weeks. I can dig that! This week’s menu is: Pastas * Tomato Basil * Arrabiata With Sausage Sandwiches * The Godfather — Half Pound Meatball Pattie w/Marinara, Fresh Pesto, & Whipped Rosemary Goat Cheese on a Pretzel Bun * The CDS Club — Sliced Chicken Breast w/Fresh Mozzarella, Roasted Red Peppers, Baby Arugula, Honey Lemon Aioli, & Balsamic Vinaigrette on a Toasted Ciabatta * The Sicilian — Our Marinated Pulled Pork w/Roasted Red Pepper and Peppadew Aioli, Fennel Slaw on a Toasted Ciabatta Salads * Chicken Caesar Salad I went with their Chicken Caesar Salad, but some co-workers of mine went with the Arrabiata With Sausage and the The Godfather sandwich, all of which was delicious! I look forward to checking out some other great Italian food menu items on a different Wednesday. Be sure to check them out on facebook, and on their website: ***THEYALSOCATER!***

When it comes to food trucks, I always have to stop and try out the fare. I was heading out to grocery shop when I saw the Cucina di Strada food truck in a parking lot across from my apartment building. I knew then and there I had to stop and try the food. I pulled up to the truck in anticipation of what they had on the menu. I LOVE Italian food, so I knew I was in for a treat. Cucina di Strada has a un-missable truck, painted green/white/red. The menu(changes weekly) consisted of homemade pastas and classic Italian sandwiches. It was very hot last week so I skipped the pasta and ordered a homemade Italian Beef. Here, you can specify how«dipped» you want it. You know they are all about a traditional«Chicago» Italian beef. I ordered mine lightly«dipped» and requested the hot giardiniera. The service was extremely fast, yet friendly! I took the Italian beef back to my Air Conditioned car and dug in. The Italian beef was HUGE! Served on authentic Gonnella Italian bread with two slices of mozzarella cheese. The beef was PILED on. This was truly a LARGE Italian beef. The beef was tender and seasoned perfectly. The giardiniera was crisp and spicy, just how I like it. Their Italian beef easily rivals the«classic» players in Chicago. (I’m looking at you Buona and Al’s) I look forward to seeing them in the area again soon! I cannot wait to try their pastas and Italian Sausage sandwich! Don’t change a thing! If you’re looking for an excellent Italian beef in the suburbs, give Cucina di Strada a try. You can follow the truck on their Facebook page, for up-to-the-minute location and the weekly menu!
