Absolutely HAD to praise Dr. Rice and his services.
I woke up late last night and was in a ravenous mood, which is not out of the usual. I grabbed a couple cookies and a glass of milk, but upon biting into the first one, I noticed that my tongue was rubbing against something sharp. Long story short, the back part of my tooth had chipped off and was now poking the side of my tongue. Mega ouch.
As soon as I woke up this morning, I called Dr. Rice on the recommendation of a friend who had a great experience with him. I explained the situation to his very courteous staff (which sometimes is an issue in medical settings) and they said the doctor was actually in the office unscheduled today, but would see me given the nature of the chip. I hurried right over.
After the standard paperwork, I was brought into the back office where four suites were situated with very modern and up-​to-​date equipment. The doctor came in and gave me a brief examination before saying that his assistant would be taking some x-​Rays and then we would get started.
After he examined the x-​rays, he told me how there was decay BELOW the surface of the tooth (due to my orthodontist hammering on my anchors for my braces YEARS ago) and that he would clean that up and craft a replacement/​filler. Now, you know that point after you get numbed up and the dentist starts drilling and you can QUITE feel it but every now and then, they hit something and you kinda jump up in pain? There was ABSOLUTELY NONE OF THAT! I was literally lounging back in the chair while the doctor explained his choice for the treatment and how other doctors tended to treat similar issues with unnecessary (and costly) root canals! No thanks. Instead, I was without any pain as Dr. Rice took care to make sure the new filling was hardened and in place.
All in all, I was only at the office for about 40 mins, from beginning to end, which is just mindblowing to me. I’ve had experiences where the time in the waiting room alone was that long. Considering how great of a job he did, how quick it was, and literally painless as well, I wish I could somehow give him 6 stars. He even was willing to take me on his day off! This is definitely my new dentist from here on out. If you are looking for a great, thorough experience in what is usually a not-​so-​fun time, I would recommend Dr. Rice. My mom just booked an appointment for her annual check up. Can’t say enough, well done Dr. Rice!
