Heavenly Hair Salon and Spa

I love this place. Jackie does my hair (with phenomenal scalp massage) and today Angela outdid herself with a wonderful pedicure! I’ve had full body massages that were so very good with the best atmosphere! The best place to be pampered and made beautiful!

This place is so much more than a small town hair salon! I’ve been going here for 2 years and I can’t imagine ever going anywhere else. Tonya is amazing with hair and really takes her time to understand what you want. Clara is a skin guru! She has several types of wax to find the perfect wax for your skin. Everyone here exhibits great customer service and is very friendly. Check out their Facebook account for savings!

This place is bad news bears. A lot of kids out of control. No one seems happy. There are crappy discount pieces of paper taped up everywhere. It feels vast inside. There is the lack of a good taste in design. 2 stylists are good. Claire and one other. Keep on truckin.

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. I started going here only because it was conveniently located in my hometown, so I gave it a shot. First of all, the prices are ridiculous for the quality and service you receive. High prices for this below average salon… No thank you! Anyways, I got my hair cut twice here before my stylist quit and moved to a different salon. I followed my stylist to her new salon but still went to Heavenly Hair for my nails. After being talked into trying a wax by their esthetician because she was «the best anywhere around» (her words, LOL) I decided to get a face wax. Let me tell you — this lady cared nothing about me and was only trying to sell me product the entire time! She was so concerned with bragging on herself and trying to get me to buy products that she BURNED MY CHIN WITH THE HOT WAX! I jumped and said it burned but she iIGNORED me and kept talking on herself. I was terrified and could just feel the damage done to my skin immediately.
The receptionist came into the room and said that her next client was waiting — I’d never experienced that sort of service. Clara immediately rushed me out of the waxing room with no after care instructions or guidance. I went home and the next day I had SECOND DEGREE BURNS across and below my chin. I had to see two different dermatologists and take a week off of work while letting my skin heal. I have a 3-​inch scar below my chin and my chin is now constantly red and will never go back to my skin tone.
What blows my mind is that me and my mom both sent the owner, Tonya, pictures of my burn and was never offered a refund nonetheless, nor compensation for the trauma I went through. All she said was that I was in her prayers. Seriously!?! Save your time AND money… go to a real, professional salon that wouldn’t have estheticians such as Clara but that would at the VERY LEAST refund the service, not to mention the compensation for my time off work, medical bills for TWO dermatologists and the three different antibiotic wound creams I had to buy for my burn.
NEVER GO TO HEAVENLY HAIR! EVER!!!

I have been going to this salon since I moved to Elgin. I am always met with a warm greeting. The staff is kind and accommodating. I get my hair and nails styled here. Very satisfied. See Margaret for hair and Angela for nails.

I appreciate the effort made by Tonya (apparently the owner) to look me up after the bad review and call me. Unfortunately, it’s too little, too late. Maybe I’m über sensitive to good customer service from my own business management. However, I stand by my review based on my personal experience. No matter how Tonya might like to explain the poor experience away, when it happens, it’s hard to erase. My ‘on the soapbox’ advice to you Tonya is to set the bar high, put yourself in your potential customer’s shoes, and provide an excellent experience. This gal will not be back and is now forced to look outside of my new home town to find a quality salon.

Took both my girls for hair cuts and they loved it! Erica is so great with multiracial hair. Tonya is so great with customers.

HORRIBLE SERVICE! I had an appointment for 2 PM on a Saturday, and arrived a few minutes early. There were 3 girls at the desk. No one even acknowledged that I was there. I waited a few minutes, and then I told the girl that I was there for an appointment. She still did not say anything to me, but looked at her friend and said that I was there for an appointment. The girl that was supposed to do my body wrap then said «follow me». She took me to the break room, and that is where she was going to do the wrap. It was a very junky room. I asked her about the private candle lit room that I had read about on their website, and she said that it was being used. This was an expensive appointment that I was very excited about. I was very unhappy! I cancelled my appointment, and left. Will not ever go back!
