Ok. It’s Elgin. Just glad there isn’t bbq or an enchilada on the menu. This is a family run business. Clean as a whistle with predictable«Chinese» fare. The food is good, the service excellent. If you need your Chinese fix, this is as good as any in a small town.

This is my go to for Chinese food. I love this place! The food is always good. I like my chicken cooked well, the cheese wontons are amazing and the wonton soup is wonderful. I made the mistake of going to Koy on a Sunday because I really wanted Chinese food and this place was closed. Next time I will just wait until a day they are open!

We have been going here for years and the food is always fresh and tastes great. The service is equally great. You can’t beat the value compared to places in Austin either. Order anything with the garlic sauce, its fantastic.

I’ve eaten here once, and boy was it less than impressive. The taste wasn’t anything to write home about, but the thing that stuck with me… Their General Tso sauce tasted just like their Orange sauce. It might have even been the same stuff. That wouldn’t be so bad if the sauce was awesome, but alas… no. Pretty bland, especially considering both dishes are known for their intensity. Want Chinese food in Elgin? I’m sure you can find better in the HEB frozen food section.

Take my advice and skip this restaurant. We moved to Elgin last fall and were underwhelmed by the lack of variety in restaurant options. There’s barbecue, Mexican food, fast food and – Hong Kong Restaurant. We’ve been here several times and never been completely happy with the food or service. Tonight we ordered sesame beef and sweet-and-sour chicken. A simple enough order, no? The lady on the phone told us our to-go order would be ready in fifteen minutes. Thirty minutes later, we were still waiting. There were five tables seated at the restaurant, and one other to-go order besides ours waiting with the tickets. When I finally complained about the wait, our food was bagged and we headed out the door. We got all the way home(15 minute drive) and realized that we were missing the sweet-and-sour sauce for our chicken. Have you ever had sauceless sweet-and-sour chicken? It’s unimpressive. I called the restaurant and alerted them that my order was incomplete, and let me tell you, I have never had worse customer service in my life. The kid on the phone told me rudely that I should be more understanding of how busy they are. They can’t be expected to make everything perfectly when they’re so busy. Then he informed me he would let me come pick up(30 minutes round-trip? no thanks) some sauce. If five tables and a couple of to-go orders can cause such chaos that I can’t expect my order to be completed properly(or for me to be treated with respect as a customer who didn’t get what I paid for) then there is something seriously wrong with the management. Train your staff. The customer is not unreasonable to expect to be treated fairly.

I’m a pku-vegetarian stuck working in Elgin and I am SICK of french fries. The combo veggie lunch special costs less than a burger combo almost anywhere and definitely less than side dishing at KFC/LJS or the city grill. For $ 5.35 I get my veggies(with spicy brown sauce!), some rice, a soup, and a veggie egg roll. Perfect! My coworkers also end up here quite frequently because it really is the best cheap non fast food meal you can get in Elgin. Where they’re lacking in fanciness, they make it up with being all around pleasant, no fuss good eats, and if you eat there enough they remember how you like your order. :)

I really like the Hong Kong Chinese restaurant in Elgin. I drive over when I get a chance from Bastrop because I feel the food is better than the two Chinese restaurants we have in town. The service is always friendly & fast, & the casual atmosphere suits me just fine for a quick Lunch or dinner. It is actually some of the best Chinese food I have found in a small town. I really enjoy the general tso’s & the sesame chicken.
