Save yourself the hassle and go to HomeDepot or Lowes or something. The finishes on their products are extremely cheap and are poorly manufactured, not to mention, overpriced. Just not worth the hassle of dealing with people that really have no idea what they’re doing.

After carefully planing my cabinet layout around existing plumbing I went to Mike Manke at Seigles Cabinet Center and placed my order. When the cabinets arrived and were unpacked we discovered scratched on the doors and frames. The finish on the cabinets was well below my expectations it had dust and dirt in it! To top it off they would not work with the existing plumbing! After several calls to the owner I was offered a touch up kit and was told the plumbing layout was not Seigles problem! $ 763.00 in plumbing changes later we were able to make them work as planned. Unfortunately they still look like poorly finished cabinets.

An update on my review of Seigle’s Cabinets — After I called the corporate office and told them everything that happened, they sent Sally back out to our house with a manufacturer rep. They assessed the book cases and decided that they would take them back to the warehouse and look at what went wrong, then place a new order for correct bookcases and send them back to us. I basically(nicely) told Sally & the Rep that if Siegle’s is not able to install them at no cost, then we’d rather just have our money back. I didn’t think it was fair for us to pay twice to have them installed when the company clearly made the mistake/poor measurements. They did agree to give us a full refund, without much hassle at all. Then, the owner of the company himself called me to apologize that so many things went wrong and that we were not satisfied. To their credit — they at least called and admitted it was the company’s fault — it’s not like anything major was wrong, but just many little things all in a row. The owner did confirm that they do not have any installers on staff, as they do most of their business direct with homebuilders. I suggested that it would be a good idea to have a couple on-hand for the few times they need them. At the end of the day — had Siegle’s provided an installer, they would still have our business. Since they did not, our contractor saw what happened and offered to make us truly custom bookcases for half the price. So that’s what we are doing. Bottom Line — Not sure if I’d write this company off entirely — we might not use them again, but they sure did seem apologetic and willing to do somethings to correct it.
