New Kampo Garden

I’m from New York, and Chinese take out is one of my favorite things to eat when on the go so when I was in Elizabeth’s neighborhood, I decided to try what this NJ take out had to offer.
I ordered the chicken with broccoli and some chicken wings. Food wasn’t overcooked and it tasted pretty decent. Pretty generous portions and fair prices especially if you’re budget conscious. If I lived here this would probably be my default Chinese take out place to go to.
Also they don’t use canned mushrooms yay!

This place has become my go-​to Chinese spot. The food is always fresh and the service is good. I recommend this place to anyone in the Elizabeth area.

When you grow up in New York City and spend almost every weekend in Manhattan’s Chinatown, it almost feels like blasphemy to eat at take-​out places, but I do enjoy them from time to time. My area of Elizabeth is practically swarming with Chinese take-​out style places, but in all my years of living here I never went to New Kam Po Garden despite having passed it a few times over the years.
I was in this section of town one night and decided to grab some food for dinner. The first disappointment was noting that there were no eggplant dishes on the menu. Spicy eggplant dishes from take-​out joints are one of the best reasons to go to them. Sadly this one doesn’t carry it at all.
I ordered a couple dishes including standard dishes like broccoli with garlic sauce and vegetables with chicken sautee. Nothing was bad per se. Indeed, the broccoli was perfectly cooked. However, nothing was extraordinary either. The food was just middle of the road good, and I’ve definitely had much better at nearby take-​out joints.

The food is better than any other Chinese places around here. Their menu offers are good and sometimes they extend their menu hours.

I order take out from this place all the time, but lately they been very disappointed, everything I asked for, they are out
I mean c’mon, you are a restaurant, on the menu they have duck, I called and order, they are out
Tonight, I called for sweet and sour shrimp, they are out of shrimp, so I asked for sweet and sour pork. «Oh sorry, we only have sweet and sour chicken»
WTF?
How can you ran a Chinese restaurant without shrimp and pork? Isn’t that suppose to be in most of your dishes?
I maybe have to look for another place for my Chinese food, is suck, I really like their food

First time we ordered from here it arrived super fast but the second time we ordered it took almost 50 minutes. The food isn’t bad and the prices are good. Their homemade ice tea is really good though!
